After another moment of intense staring he finally let go off her. The tears on her face didn’t turn out to be as satisfying as they seemed the first moment because now she wasn’t crying because of fear but of hurt feelings. What was he supposed to get out of that? In Lex burned a deep desire to break, to devastate, to sow hate and agony that’d shimmer in other people’s eyes when they’re gazes met. This here, this was just nothing you could get off on.

He sighed sustained, like a parent who gave in to the whining of his child, and put his arms around Hailey. Hailey decided not to say anything else, she was afraid of giving him information that he shouldn’t know about and when he slowly let her go, she let out a relieved sigh. His strong arms around her tiny frame felt so soothing, his body felt like a rock she could lean on- his robot like words were the complete opposite though. He was right, she was much younger than he was but he was acting like she was a little kid and sometimes she really despised that, all she wanted was for him to give back her freedom and actually see her as a real woman once.. just once.

Lex enjoyed the way Hailey was looking at him. He drank in the fear in her eyes, that slight trembling of her bottom lip, the tears that started to leak and reminded him again why it was worth to put up with all of this. He took joy in sowing fright and making people indulge to his will - he needed it to live like he needed air in his lungs and it was a worthy satisfaction to excuse the lack of knowledge of others that he was superior. He needed to carve it into their skin to make them accept it and god, he may complained about them not acknowledging it from the very start but he wouldn’t want to have it otherwise. He loved it when they made him hurt them. So, the initiate reaction Hailey’s alleged revelation was to hesitate. Raise his brows when he felt a sudden twinge of anger at the idea of someone touching his possession. But the anticipation about getting two for one soon followed - punishing Hailey for disobeying and disappointing him and the guy who layed hands on her.

“If that’s true”, he answered, squishing her plush cheeks a little tighter instead of letting go. “… then I guess I have to overthink this situation, don’t I? I mean, if you’re being honest you probably were stupid enough to allude whateverhisnameis to misinterpret things - men like to do that, you know?” A twisted smirk ghosted over his features though the bitter taste remained in his mouth. He never needed a reason to hurt others but in this case he wasn’t as neutral as he liked to be. If someone really touched her he’d chop off his fucking hands - not because to revenge Hailey. Simply because he could do it and nobody would hold him back. “You would never cheat on me, would you? You said you loved me. And I love you - you know that, right? You’re the only thing I love, Hailey. Tell me his name… who hurt you?”      

Hailey was scared and she knew he could read the fear from her eyes, she was trying hard not to show it but her sudden burst in tears only showed that she knew she fucked up and that this would end badly. She could still slap herself for coming back here instead of running far away but there was no turning back for now and she had to deal with this, especially with this huge lie she had just told him. A little lie. “H-He raped me!” she suddenly burst into tears, real tears.. and she didn’t even know why she was crying. Maybe because she felt bad for lying or maybe because she didn’t want Lex to find out the truth.

It was no secret that Lex was already waiting for Hailey.
