(1) FURTHERHQ EVENT #10
weâve been alive and thriving for a year and weâre just now hitting the double digits in events  đ€đ€  your faves could never. anyways our tenth event is heavily based on the video game until dawn because that shit popped off . . . basically the team is going to go investigate the maxwell lodge because blair claims to have seen some creature lurking up on the mountains whenever her family took trips there. plus, itâs about time they investigate some non - shitty residence so this investigation doubles as a winter break destination as well. each character has been paired with groups of two or three and we have small  â tasks  â assigned to each pairing! that way everyone has some sort of side plot they can do whichâll all feed in to the overall general story.
that being said, the main focus of the event  (  aside from monster hunting ... yikes :tm:  )  is that the team has a stalker who followed them up to the mountain in hopes of getting closer to the group but more specifically, ashley. so around the lodge and stuff âââ there will be things hinting that theyâre not alone up there. aside from following them, the stalker has also set up small pranks to creep the team out. throughout the event weâll be doing the decision making polls again much like we did with miss goaty to make things more fun and unpredictable! that being said, under the cut youâll find the group pairings alongside the mini tasks you all have to do together. if youâre confused or whatever feel free to come on down to the discord and ask us any questions you have  đđ now letâs go lesbians, letâs go!
p.s. weâll be making discord channels within the discord server for all the pairings so everyone is in the loop of whatâs going on! obvs, you guys can still do dash threads and stuff but this is more we all know whatâs happening đ€đ€ if you have any ideas, also, feel free to hit us up.
@isaiahsm  &  @zprescott  :  investigating the tunnels that are on the mountain. theyâre down there when suddenly zach gets bit / scratched by the wendigo so theyâre all freaked out and rush back to get to the lodge to help zach.
@blaiirs  &  @itskimibitch  :  investigating the basement of the lodge and the lodge itself. itâs been years since the maxwellâs have been there so they decide to check things out to see if thereâs anything that can help them link the wendigo to the mountain. thatâs when they spot isaiah returning with a wounded zach and now all 4 of them are freaked out because they donât know if zachâs gonna turn. so much like the game ; theyâre stuck in a moral dilemma. ( click here for video of gameplay )
@ashcohens  &  @solcnas  :  investigating the radio tower. after cris, micah and daniel fall into the mines, they decide to go to the radio tower to call for help. suddenly, the motion lights go off and ashley thinks itâs someonethere to help them so they try and figure out what to do next.
@elisuttons  &  @nesswright  :  investigating the ski lift. ever since they arrived both eli and nessa knew something was off âââââ so they return to the ski lodge because thatâs where thereâs a lot of negative energy coming from. while theyâre there, they begin to get â attacked â by the poltergeist thatâs been following eli since his return to the group. they try to take the lift back to the lodge but for some reason itâs not working so now they have to find a way through the eerie woods to get back to the rest of the group. while all this is going on, the spot the stalker but they donât know itâs him and they mistake him to be someone who could help them.
@ncomiis  &  @yalikeghosts  &  @julicnsv  :  investigating the shed in the back along with a small cabin a little farther away from the lodge. while setting up cameras and canvassing the area, they come across some of the creepy things the stalker left for them to find in the shed ( pictures of them, weird notes to go with the pictures, etc ) . they brush it off and decide to deal with it later then continue to go to the small cabin. there at the cabin, somehow, julian gets separated from the girls and attacked by a wendigo. thatâs when vee has to decide if she wants to help him or leave to get the others.Â
@cristicns  &  @micvhisms  &  @daniellovestohavefun  :  mine shafts. they accidentally stumble into these while investigating the property. suddenly, they got snowed in and have to find a way out. tension is high already but then they hear something inhuman and thatâs when they see that thereâs a wendigo trying to get them so they have to escape before things get ugly.
(1) FURTHERHQ EVENT #9
*blows dust off blog* itâs been too long since we had a group eventâ and considering all the bs weâve put our characters through, i think itâs about that time ! the ninth event is gonna be iconic and a small homage to friday the 13th and the blair witch project ! basically the team will be traveling to lake tahoe in california to investigate the series of unsolved murders that occurred at the now closed camp, camp evergreen. the team thinks itâs the work of a serial killer, when in reality itâs actually the spirit of an evil witch that was summoned by some of the campers in the summer of â77. weâll start this event tomorrow night ( fri sept 28 ) on discord whenever we get the majority of the members on and knowing us; itâll probably take a week to finish it !  itâs highly recommended that everyone has their character join in since we are starting to do more plot driven events ! if you have any questions/comments; feel free to message the main or any of us on discord !
âââââ Â (1) INCOMING TASK !
do you have something that you truly, relentlessly desire? despite your state of life, is there something else that you would go completely to the end of the world to get? well lucky for you, there's a way to achieve what you're looking for, and you won't need to go to the end of the world to get it. but you will need to go somewhere, and the place may be too out of reach for some. it's not far away, closer than one may believe but there're requirements that some individuals may not meet.
task number seven is based off of the eleven miles thatâs posted on creepypasta. basically the objective of this is for your character to go through some seriously difficult and uncomfortable tasks in order for them to get the thing that they most desire. the trip to getting said thing is eleven milesâ each mile bringing in a new obstacle from them to overpass. some are strong enough to get through the whole trip, some are not. whether your character makes it is totally up to you but please keep in mind that they donât have to make it all the way. under the cut will be a small description of what each mile brings and other small notes. we highly suggest for you all to read the original story  HERE  to get a better picture/understanding of what your character(s) are about to go through. i tried my best to summarize everything but did leave some major key points out so please read the story. this is mandatory but just to keep things neat and organized, itâs due two weeks from today ! if you have any questions/commentsâ feel free to message the main ! task seven can be tagged as #fhq.task7 .  PLEASE LIKE ONCE READ !
MILE ONE:Â Â clear skies. lots of stars. not much of a difference.
MILE TWO:Â Â extremely cold weather. doesnât matter if itâs summer or winter.Â
MILE THREE:Â Â silhouettes of human figures will line your path. road turns into a dirt road. do not keep your eyes off the road and do not turn back.
MILE FOUR:Â Â more of the figures but you will begin to in a sense hear them. In the back of your mind, a very faint unintelligible whisper will echo.
MILE FIVE:Â Â come to a clearing. really bright moonlight but do not look at it. the voices of the figures will not be heard.
MILE SIX:Â Â marks the halfway point. stars will disappear and the sky will be black. back on the road and the headlights of the vehicle will begin to flicker. the radio will cut on so loudly and a soothing voice will begin to whisper all your greatest fears. donât listen or try to comprehend it because the terror will be too much.
MILE SEVEN:Â Â voices are back but this time theyâre not whispersâ theyâre distant screams. they sound so close and they are because one has managed to sneak into your car. DO NOT TURN AROUND TO LOOK AT IT. just keep driving. they canât physically hurt you so donât pay attention to them.
MILE EIGHT:Â Â the road will begin to have very sharp turns so stay concentrated on that thing you desire the most. extremely cold and the heater in the car will not work.the figures from before will now be surrounding your car and your headlights will cut off. do not stop at any point, just travel slowly. do not look at the faces of the figures. doing so will result in death.
MILE NINE:Â Â vehicle will stall and everything in it will stop working. just close your eyes and restart it. it might take multiple tries but whatever you doâ do not open them. the voices will sound like theyâre trapped in their mind and they can mess with the vehicle but not with you.
MILE TEN:Â Â the voices will stop as the road gets smoother. do not look at the rear view mirror just straight ahead and keep driving.Â
MILE ELEVEN:Â Â your vehicle will stop working like it did in mile nine but youâll still be moving. something is moving you towards the light.
after the final mile, power will return. stop the vehicle. take a moment to possibly regain some of your sanity. drive forward once again. after only a kilometer, your vehicle will arrive at a dead end. stop here and don't attempt to move again. nothing will happen right this second but do not be disappointed. relax and close your eyes. imagine in your mind what it is you've desired the entire time. it will most likely still be the same as when you entered, but with some this desire may actually change through making this journey. think about what it was that you went through such terrifying and difficult means to acquire and imagine possessing it in your hands. once you have completely visualized this, slowly open your eyes. you will then find yourself at the beginning of the unnamed road, where you first began. this may confuse you, but know that you are finished. your task is done. your mind will then turn to your reward. if what you desired was material, check in the back seat or in the trunk if the object is larger. if the object was small enough it might already be in your pocket. if what you desired was nonmaterial, then do not be disappointed if the change is not immediate. turn back to where you came from, and you will find in your life that what you wanted is there. you may have found the love of your dreams. you may have gained unnatural, unimaginable power. you may have put your most hated enemy to the most satisfying revenge possible. you will have no doubt gained what you deserved.
âââââ Â (1) INCOMING TASK !
so we thought itâd be fun to have your characters record like a video diary after every event taking about things that happened, their opinions on everyone, etc! all you have to do iss write like a paragraph or something in the POV of your character and thatâs it! shoul be easy enough! i hate to say this is mandatory but just to keep things neat and organized, itâs due a week from today ! if you have any questions/commentsâ feel free to message the main ! task six can be tagged as #fhq.task6
the goatman » event.
miss goaty vs the people.
julian
after enduring a boring ten minute conversation with one of the cameramen netflix brought along, julian was able to return to the group of mysterybusters that had settled down. the cabin was fairly empty, with most of the sleeping bags set up in the large main room. "alright, we've got an hour or so to do whatever. then they want to get some footage exploring the cabin." he pointed his finger at the crew, then sat down on top of a sleeping bag with a huff.
naomi.
naomi remembers the last time the group had gone out camping and the mess that it was. she was glad they were finally able to redeem that day and move on with their lives. âsounds good. we shouldnât go too far from the cabin though. wouldnât want the goatman to get ya.â she says in a teasing tone; not believing that there was an actual being out there that was half man half goat.
nathan.
laying back on his sleeping bag, nathan retrieved his headphones from his bag, plugging them into his phone, and slipping them on. he quickly scrolled though his playlists before settling on one and hit play. "don't bother waking me up. you don't need me to film." nate rested his arm over his face, hoping he would sleep through the rest of the day uninterrupted.
kimberly & micah.
"you're fucked if you think i'm leaving this.... hellsite." micah sat down on his own sleeping bag, taking out his headphones and plugging them in. if nate was allowed to ignore the group, he would, too. "don't talk to me, either, or i will l... literally jump off of the roof." "you wouldn't die," kimi supplied, glancing up from her phone. "break a few bones, yes, but i don't think you would die."
zach.
standing above the rest of them with a sub in hand ( he'd made a special request for a sandwich stop before the trip out of town and had saved it until now ) zach blurted out a laugh. "always the optimist, kimi." zach took another bite, and spoke with his mouth half-full. "i brought some vodka and soda. actually, i think ash packed the soda. but are we down to break out the solo cups? micah, it's that kind you liked at the party," he tried to urge the other male back into the conversation.
kimberly & micah.
micah perked up at the mention of alcohol. "suddenly, i found the will to live again." or at least die via liver failure. he stood up, glancing over to ashley. "do you have the soda? if you d-don't, straight vodka's fine, too."
ashley.
"mhm," ashley hummed, already digging through her bag to pull out the soda. "they were a pain in the ass to pack, but here." she lined the six 2 liter bottles that took up an entire bag of hers in a careful row, allowing micah to take his pick. "i don't really know if it'll last the whole time we're here, but i couldn't carry any more, so."
julian.
looking towards the drinks that were getting brought out, julian had to give a small, distasteful shake of his head. "can we lay down a rule for the night? no one gets black out drunk?" with the eyes of the crewmen watching over, julian wanted to make sure the mysterybusters weren't on their worst behavior.
naomi.
âagreed. iâve got hella water if anyone wants any.â naomi settles down in her claimed spot for the night, making sure she had everything. âwhatâs the plan anyway?â her eyes immediately go to julian and verena who were the ones overseeing everything.
verena.
glancing up at julian for a moment, verena turned back to naomi to respond. " i think we're just getting settled for now and then the camera crew wants to get some shots of us... outside of that, i'm not sure." looking back to julian for help, she continued. "is there anything else we're doing tonight?" she hadn't been involved in the planning of the trip which was foreign and a little nerve recking to her as they sat in a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
julian.
"we might do some EVPs outside once it gets later. besides that, we're just waiting for any signs of this dude." julian took a look around the cabin. "and i think we're all good for now." grinning, julian pushed his glasses up on top of his head and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "that being said, if you notice something, just start shouting. someone with a camera will start filming," he nearly laughed.
kimberly & micah.
"fuck water. i plan on k-killing all of my organs tonight, before the fucking... goatman gets to them." micah had already prepared his drink by then, and was gulping it down grumpily. drinking vodka wasn't like drinking beer, in the way that you typically had to be smarter about it. but micah hadn't done a smart thing his entire life, and was already pouring himself another cup. kimi watched as a few members started drinking, keeping her face carefully neutral. she had already decided she would never drink around them again, because one, she didn't trust any of them to drive her home if they needed to, and two, bad shit always happened when they drank. so if they needed to run for their lives, she could easily outrun the drunk idiots. social darwinism at its finest. "are we allowed to look around inside before we start shooting?" she asked the ones who seemed intent on staying sober. she would probably look around outside, too, but she would like to know what boundaries she was overstepping before she did it.
sofia.
sofia sat up on top of her sleeping bag as the conversation seemed to liven up, shutting her eyes for a moment and stretching her neck. she didn't realize how on edge she would actually be going out on another trip, but she wasn't going to let that ruin it for her. in fact, she was going to use the opportunity to try to get over her insomnia and her fear. unfortunately, that meant keeping her wits about her. she scooted over to the drink and poured herself a cup of soda. "bro, having the netflix people around is still so weird," she said with a shake of her head. "ooh, i'd like to look around now."
zach.
âiâd be down for that,â zach quickly hopped on board, a cup with mixed vodka and soda in his hand where his sandwich was a moment ago. âshould we grab a camera, in case we see something?â
sofia.
"probably," sofia said, standing and stretching her free arm over her head. she went over to their pile of supplies and pulled out a camera. "i can shoot." whatever she saw in the camera had to be real, right? not worries about seeing things again.
alex.
"if there's a camera involved, i'm down," alex huffed, tossing aside (read: carefully re-folding) her sleeping bag and dusting her jeans off as she got to her feet. she'd take the supernatural entity over another cop raid any day, and the fact that that was an actual, sensible thoughtâwith context!ârunning through her head right now kind of made her want to throw something out of a window. but whatever. she glanced at sofia, smirking at the sight of the shorter girl behind a camera lens. "â-though, if you wanted to give it a shot, be my guest," alex teased, rifling through her purse for a granola bar. she peeled the wrapper off, bit into the corner, and gave sofia a wink. "you'll do fine."
zach.
âoh, hell yeah!â once alex and officially agreed to join the small group, zach raised his plastic cup to her. âintern take over. weâll get nate involved at some point,â he didnât bother trying to whisper, knowing damn well that the other boy would ignore them either way. âalright, letâs head out.â
alex.
"uh, has nate ever volunteered for anything that involved more effort than picking up a beer?" alex commented under her breath, plastering on a smile afterwards, as if the other boy wasn't in the same room.
sofia.
sofia couldn't help but grin at zach's enthusiasm. she really did like the other interns, and she was happy when they were able to do stuff on their own. she met alex's gaze with a smirk of her own. "well, you could always teach me, if you think i'm fucking it up," she said as she marched passed her. "let's goooooo!" she hadn't really tried camera work before. she'd mostly been working research, like julian, but most of the time it made her want to smash her head into a wall.(edited)
kimberly.
kimi briefly considered taking the pocket knife from her purse and picking them off all one by one. how the fuck dare they invite themselves on her trip? did they not realize she was trying to get away from them? not for the first time since working with them â or this week, or day, or even in the last hour â she bit back her urge to scream. instead, she slipped away before the others would notice, somewhere between sofia picking up the camera, and alex flirting with her, and found herself secluded from the team, upstairs. she took a moment, clenching her fist and closing her eyes, as she let out a silent noise of frustration. she just wanted to be alone, goatdammit. she then took a deep breath, and started wandering the upper level of the cabin, knowing that the rest would only be a few steps behind her.
alex.
it was nothing more than a flash in her peripheral vision, really, but alex spotted kimi all the same â and that, combined with a casual sweep of the room once the more excited parties died down, made it all the more obvious that kimi had gone on ahead without them. with a faint scrunch of her nose, she followed in the direction she'd seen the shadow flicker in, slowly but intently making her way up the flight of stairs to the second floor landing.
zach.
"do we know for sure that this place is clear of bats or rats?" the more zach creeped around, the more he realized how the place wasn't a neat and tidy as julian had promised. the main room was, thankfully. but the little back rooms had thick layers of dust. he went to the window, and tried lifting it up, just to see if it could move. a few creaks and cracks of the wood later, he was poking his head out and looking around at the forest in its twilight. "goaty!" he shouted, pulling his head back in and laughing. "does he have a real name? or is it just goaty now?"
sofia.
"why do you ask, prescott? you scared?" sofia teased, trailing after zach with the camera up to her eye. he had a point, though--the place seemed totally abandoned. the perfect setting for the show. she snorted at his exclamation. "dunno. i think it's just 'the goatman', so goaty works." she took a deep breath of the night air zach had let in and felt her shoulders relax. this was what she liked about working with the mythbusters; the investigating, the guessing, the figuring shit out. that's what made her stick around. "what parts of him d'you actually think are goat? like, just his legs?"
naomi.
âso while they do their thing, what do you guys want to do?â naomi asks as soon as part of the groups goes upstairs. âusually weâd have to be setting everything up but now that the netflix people are hereâ it kind of takes the fun of it all.â
zach.
âi hope heâs like, goat from the dick down.â zach responded without much thought. âOr maybe heâs all over the place. goat ears but a human face. goat legs but normal feet. who are we to judge that itâs half and half?â zach poked around a corner. âkimi! alex! have you seen the goat yet?â he called out, overly loud.
alex.-03/24/2018
"will you shutâ?" she starts it, but thinking of the netflix crew downstairs, she'd rather not give them any reason to think there's internal conflict going on. for their reputation and all. and she likes zach well enough, even if she is on edge and he's decidedly not helping. "...calm down, zach. if we'd seen it, you'd know. any luck outside?" alex asked, even though she knew the answer, seeing as most of his and sof's rambling so far had been nothing but nonsense and conspiracy theories.
sofia.
sofia burst out laughing at zach's response, shaking her head. she forgot about the camera for a moment, letting the lens dip down slightly, before bringing it back up. "i feel like all over the place would be creepier." she followed the sound of alex's voice around the corner. "nope, nothing," sofia replied. "just looked like a bunch of trees. not even like, a creepy gust of wind." she kept her tone light. everything was going fine. he'd even gotten a few hours of sleep the night before. there was no reason to be afraid--except for the goatman, of course.(edited)
ashley.
ashley perked up slightly, turning her attention to naomi as she spoke. "uhhh, drink?" she suggested with a smile. "we could play a game? is there anything we have to do to, like, get ready for whatever we're doing for the investigation? these woods seemed huge, are we actually gonna go look for it or just wait and see if it comes to us?"
naomi.
"i don't think so," naomi shrugs, getting up and walking over to grab a cup and filling with some soda, "well if we want good footage, i think we're going to have to go after it. it's kind of.... weird if you ask me but nothing that we do is ever not weird, y'know?" she takes a sip and clears her throat, "i did see that there's a lake nearby and i want to take advantage of that before we leave."
julian & zach.
"oh, come on, don't be such a debbie downer, lex," zach closed the distance, trailing to a few feet behind the girl. he took a sip from his cup, and offered it out to her. "it's like, eight o'clock. i really doubt he's out here hunting right now. does he eat meat?" zach turned to face sofia, and glanced at the camera. "do goats eat meat?" though julian was relaxing, he made a point to pop into the conversation the two girls were having. "it likes groups," he pointed a finger at naomi, not wanting her to but in with her skepticism before he finished explaining, "so a group will head out there later with night vision cameras and see wait for anything to pop out. i don't think we need to go as far as that lake, though. maybe that's a good marker for where to stop."
ashley.
"what? no, we have to go to the lake, it'll be fun!" ashley insisted, her eyebrows furrowing as her attention turned to julian. "although i didn't know there would even be a lake around, so i don't have a swimsuit, but still. does it matter how big the group is, or what?"
naomi.
naomi playfully rolls her eyes at julian and pretended to zip her lips. she listens to what he says then when ashley speaks up, "yeah we don't need bathing suits. we'll just jump in in our birthday suits! also, i want to be apart of the group that goes. if we get lucky enoughâ we might see a deer and julian will mistake it for miss goatman." she laughs before saying, "maybe he'll nut in his pants like our beloved elijah did. no offense or anything, you just got stuck being the scapegoat since eli and trevor went awol."
sofia.
"do i look like i grew up on a farm? no, i don't think they eat meat. they eat like...grass and cardboard and shit or something. this is like some supernatural monster though, right? so maybe it does. 'cause humans eat meat." sofia was rambling but this was the most fun that she'd had in a while. even practice had become a pain, because she could barely keep her eyes open on the field, much to the chagrin of her coaches and her teammates. "do goats make noises? could we like, do a goat call?"
ashley.
"exactly!" ashley said, pointing at naomi when she spoke. "we can skinny dip, it'll be fun. i bet that will get us some viewers. and i mean, we've been through a lot of shit but when we're all together we always make it out, so we'll be fine. that's how like, statistics and stuff works, right? Â goatman can't be worse than damaris and cris at silverwood."
julian & zach.
zach nearly stopped in his tracks. "you're messing with me, right? they don't eat cardboard." he shook his head, deciding to move on before he got even more confused. "haven't you seen the screaming goats on youtube?" zach was already reaching for his phone by the time he asked. "oh my god, you're going to die, sof." it didn't take long for julian to begin laughing at the absurdity of their ideas. he tried to keep the upbeat tone going even after hearing ashley's fairly concerning comments. "no, nothing is going to be worse than that. and i don't know about actually going in there and swimming, you guys. it's probably not the⊠cleanest body of water around. but, you know⊠might as well film it," julian said, teasing slightly.
ashley.
"who cares? have you never swam in a lake before? it's never clean, but it'll be fun."
julian.
julian's eyebrows squinted together. "doesn't sound that fun, but i won't stop you guys." not that he could, anyways. "there's a firepit out back. we can throw some wood in and have it ready for you guys, if you want to leave now."
alex.
pacing along the floor, alex sighed. she was far too wound up to have as...carefree of a time as zach seemed to be â probably due to the fact that even after all of her research and string-pulling with locals, she still didn't have anywhere close to all of the information. which, in alexandra ochoa's book, was just as bad as having no information at all. she pulled out a tiny flip camera of her own, still making decent work of the granola bar in her other hand. "where to start, where to start...?" she muttered, crossing the room to another window to try and get a view of the surrounding forest.
lana.
she had spent the majority of this conversation silently sitting on her sleeping bag with her, legs up against her chest and arms wrapped around them. that was until she found a way into it, lana propped on to her feet before speaking. "i'll help find the wood for the fire," she just needed some fresh air and sitting back to watch everyone else do something was getting to be a little more boring than expected.
isaiah.
isaiah looked around for julian, helplessly, as ashley and naomi suggested skinny dipping. this goatman thing was ridiculous enough as it was, but isaiah really didn't want any accidents or anything to happen. he'd been more and more cautious since everything that had gone down. he agreed with julian, silently, that it didn't sound like fun, but he really didn't want to leave ash. he could already see zach was keen, and so was naomi- so why not let the pair go in together? he tugged ash closer to him, and pressed a kiss to the crook of  her neck, "wouldn't it be more fun to get naked somewhere inside, and warm? just you.. and me..?" he added.
julian.
"you should take someone⊠with youâŠ" by the time lana had stood up and was out of earshot, julian had only just started speaking. he didn't try too hard after thatâhis sentence trailed out, and  he turned to the group, mainly to isaiah. and, respectively, let out a loud laugh at the face of pure fear he had on. "he's right, it's still pretty cold out. hypothermia is probably more deadly than this goatman." he tried to help isaiah's cause a little bit more.(edited)
naomi.
"it's not like we're going to be in there for hours. it's just going to be one little dip then boom, we're out." naomi says, seeing lana go outside, "whatever you guys decide." she follows behind her and clears her throat once they're both outside. "hey." she says softly, stuffing her hands in her pockets.
ashley.
ashley leaned in closer to isaiah as he wrapped an arm around her. "maybe. it doesn't really look like there's anywhere warm to go. but i'll stay here. zach can join naomi when he gets back."
verena.
every warning possible sounded in her head at the thought of people jumping in the lake, let alone naked. she'd watched her fair share of horror films and doing something as crazy like skinny dipping in a lake was always one of the first things to happen before the serial killer emerged and hacked everyone to pieces. vee had to continuously remind herself that this trip was supposed to be fun and that the chance that the goatman actually existing was fairly slim. "i'll grab some snacks and blankets for everyone sticking around by the fire. but please, if you're actually going to skinny dip, don't take the camera crew with you."
zach.
"alex!" zach called out, having misplaced the girl in the dark. he used his phone flashlight to wave around, it being useless for looking up youtube videos ( there was absolutely no signal out in the woods ) or anything else that required internet. "i'm out of drinks!" one drink, to be specific, but zach didn't care about grammar. "we're heading back inside!"
julian.
"let me tell the crew what the plan is, then. maybe they can do their own thing for a while and we won't have to worry about them." julian stood up, holding a hand out to help verena off the ground as well. "then we can just⊠chill by the fire for a bit." he gave her a soft smile, happy to see that she was beginning to relax, finally.
kimberly.
kimi wandered outside, wrapping her arms around herself. she was far away enough that she didnât bother changing her facial expression. the hatred in her eyes was clear, and her lips were curled into a visible sneer. she wanted to go home, because this shit was ridiculous, and no one wanted to be in the south. but this was a job, and if she wanted anything to go to plan, she needed to be here. for her plan, and the groupâs, because theyâd proven that they couldnât survive without her. her face gradually changed into something softer and sweeter, as she finally approached the group. when she saw members of the group heading back in, she glanced around. she held out a hand to stop zach, giving the group another glance, before looking up at him. âwhereâs alex?â though she asked him, she wouldâve accepted anyoneâs answer. âwait, whatâs going on? is micah about to jump in the lake naked? does he know that might actually kill him in this weather?â
alex.
"goddamnit," alex let out on the tail end of a sigh, having realized she'd lost the others. she pulled away from the camera, looked over the subpar footage of the forest outside and  the abandoned closets in this godforsaken cabin she'd been temporarily out of her mind enough to wander into. backstepping over a threshold, alex followed the sound of voices until she found herself out in the open air with the others. "think i found scratch marks in one of the old closets upstairs, but this place has shitty lighting, so who the fuck knows," she said somewhat haughtily (but mostly in attempt to disguise how flustered she was at the moment) as she eased her way into the forming crowd.
verena.
taking ahold of julians hand, she stood from the ground, dusting her behind as she reached her full height. âsounds good. ill start getting everything setup outside.â mirroring his smile she moved to her bag to pull out a few small throw blankets sheâd packed before ducking outside.
zach.
being turned around numerous times left zach to be merely a non-functioning brain in a human body. he could have blacked out for five minutes, and would understand nothing more or less about what was going on. when he finally came to his senses, he started looking at the group around him. had it gotten bigger? yes-kimi was back, and naomi wasn't far, either. "nomi!" he shouted out, pointing to her. "found her!" even though kimi had very clearly asked where's alex," he was still happy about his discovery. "butâ" he held a finger up at alex, "has anyone found the goatman?"
lana.
when lana heard naomi's voice, she turned around and peeked behind her to see if anyone else was on their way to save her from this very awkward situation. as suspected, there was no one. she offered naomi a half-hearted smile, "hey." luckily, before the other could speak up again, zach was calling out for naomi.
naomi.
naomi was about to say something when she hears zach call for her. "iâ never mind." awkward silence then she's on her way over to where the blonde boy and his group was. "did you guys see anything cool? just so you know it could have easily been a bear or some other real creature."
zach.
"scratches!" zach confirmed with a nod of his head, scurrying to be at naomi's side. "and we found kimi and you. so, basically, nothing. but scratches, according to alex." despite still not really knowing what was going on, zach held a bright smile on his face. "do we have any flashlights? i don't want my phone to dieâŠ" the light on the back was still shining bright.
naomi.
"so me and kimmy are basically nothing? smooth." she shakes her head and laughs, "yeah there's some in the cabin. well i assume there isâ why would we come out here without flashlights?" naomi wouldn't put it past anyone in the group to actually forget bringing one of the most important pieces of equipment. "i want to go take a quick swim in the lake but everyone chickened out. wanna come with?" she asks zach in a more hushed tone, looking at him.March 25, 2018
zach.
it took zach a moment to respond, but whispered back, quieter than she had spoken, "there's a lake?" a second passed, and zach flashed a smile, laughing at his own joke. "i didn't bring trunks, but, hey, i'm down for a dip if you are."
naomi.
"yeah no one brought the proper swimwear but who cares. we won't take long." she grabs his hand in hers and begins pulling him in the direction of the lake, "we'll be back soon. make sure to tell everyone else so they don't freak out." she says to the group that was outside before disappearing with zach.
ashley.
after some of the rest of the group got the fire going, ashley wandered outside to join them. almost immediately, her nose scrunched in disgust. "what's that smell? do you guys use something weird on the fire? it smells like... blood, almost."
sofia.
sofia had joined the rest of the team around the campfire, the oversized sweatshirt she was wearing stretched over her knees for warmth. "we always seem to end up around a fucking campfire," she said. she gave ashley an odd look, then turned back to the fire and sniffed. "well...it's kinda funky, i guess. maybe it was just wet or something?"
julian.
"it wouldn't be burning if it was wet," julian promptly corrected his cousin from his spot in an old fold-out chair that was sitting around inside. he peered into the fire, not noticing any weird flame colors come out. but the smell still caught his interest. "i don't know, though. lana got all of the wood. i don't know what kind of wood would burn and smell⊠metallic."
ashley.
"what if there's, like, something wrong with the cabin? like the wires or something and that's what's causing the smell? if you didn't put anything weird on the fire." while the smell was definitely noticeable, even over the fire, it wasn't overwhelming.
sofia.
"you wouldn't be burning if you were wet," sofia grumbled, throwing a twig into the fire and desperately wanting to tune julian out. "if it's coming from the cabin, it's gotta be super strong." she didn't know if she'd be able to handle finding something wrong in the cabin, especially if blood was involved. "should we, uh...should we go check it out?"
kimberly & micah.
micah snorted at sofia's comment. "i-i can go check it out." he was kind of desperate to get away from the fire. though he and julian had been on much better terms since the new year, micah still remembered the last time they were close to a fire. he stood up from his chair, digging his phone out of his pocket to use for a light. "wait, micah." kimi prayed that the goatman was out there and killed them off one by one. she was so tired. "if it smells like someone is boiling blood, don't you think it would be best if we at least went back together? or... at least more than one person? i recognize your, um, desire to die, and i... appreciate your dedication, but we do still have to film later. i think netflix would like it best if you... stayed alive for that?" "let me f.. fucking die in peace, kimberly."
naomi.
to say that naomi was relieved when she saw that they had a fire going would be an understatement. after what had just happened to her and zach, she was more than glad to see the rest of the group. "you guys there's something out in the woods." she says once they've reached everyone, her hands shaking as she crouches down in front of the fire. "i-i'm being serious i saw it with my own eyes. and please tell me you smell that. it's fucking horrible."
julian.
after the two had rejoined the group, julian had rose from his seat and walked closer to them, making sure that both were okay. âwhy are you wet? did you actually jump in the lake? god-do we have any blankets out here?â he asked the others around, looking up briefly. âwhatâd you see?â the question came with some hesitation.
naomi.
"yeah but that's not the problem right now." she tells julian, feeling herself beginning to warm up, "i saw... i don't know. at first i thought it was one of you messing with us but then i saw like... it's eyes. they were glowing red." naomi shook her head, trying to shake the image from her mind.
kimberly.
âred eyes?â kimi was skeptical, of course. she didnât believe in the goatman, or whatever this was. but supernatural shit happened, apparently; she couldnât keep denying that. she glanced around, then looked back to naomi and zach. âdo you think we can make it back to the cabin without running into it?â
julian.
"wait, are you serious?" with the amount of teasing that naomi had given julian about the goatman, he couldn't believe that she was actually admitting to have seen it. but, he took in the sight of her, completely shaken and stern, and knew that she wasn't playing around. "uhâyeah, we could make it back. but do we want to lead it back there? should we wait until⊠i don't know, the smell goes away? at least?"(edited)
kimberly & micah.
"w-we're just sitting ducks if we wait," micah points out. "we stay out here, and... then what? we don't know how long it'll take for it to.... to..." he trailed off, frustrated at the blank space in his head where that final word should have been. "disappear," kimi finished helpfully. "it could be hours before the smell goes away, and naomi and zach need to get somewhere warm sooner than later. and... we haven't been quiet. there are a lot of us, including the netflix crew. whatever's out there already knows we're here."
naomi.
"kimi's right." naomi says, "i don't even think the smell matters. it's been what, ten minutes since we first caught whiff of it? if it was bad or whatever we'd probably start feeling weird by now." she stands and wraps her arms around herself. "i just wanna go in the cabin. i'll feel safer there than out here. who knows what it'll do when it comes back."
sofia.
sofia stood up, bouncing a little bit on the balls of her feet for a moment. "i'm with kimi and naomi. plus, all of our stuff is in the cabin. all around the better option." she gave julian a look, eyebrows raised, almost like she was daring him to suggest otherwise.
julian.
enough people had corrected himâjulian held both his hands up in defeat. "alright, pack everything up and let's get back inside." julian gave one last look to naomi and zach, nodding. "and stick together, okay?"
kimberly & micah.
the packing up process wasn't quick enough. kimi hadn't brought anything out with her, so she stood off to the side, keeping an eye out for something with red eyes. she didn't know how much she believed that part, but she wasn't going to dismiss anything. she shivered a little, her tiny frame unable to handle being out this long without any warmth, and she started to urge them to hurry, when she was cut off.Â
"one of you d-dipshits took my sleeping bag," micah declared irritably, standing up. kimi's eyebrow ticked, and she looked around. "everyone only has one sleeping bag, micah."Â
"yeah, well, s... someone has mine."
sofia.
sofia rolled her eyes, pausing her backing to shoot micah an annoyed look. "seriously? like anybody would want to steal your shit anyways. it's probably stuck under something. just fucking...i don't know...look for it?" with that, she went back to trying to shove a blanket into her bag. she was already on edge about the whole goatman thing, she didn't need micah's complaining to make it worse.
kimberly & micah.
âwhat the fuck do you think iâve been doing, dumbass?â micah was always too irritable for his own good. too ready to fight, especially where a vega was involved. âand i-i donât know why someone would want it, but someone fucking â fucking has it.â âit could be an accident,â kimi said, hoping to deescalate the situation. âcan everyone just make sure they have the right sleeping bag?â
sofia.
it didn't take sofia more than a second to register what micah had said. she leapt to her feet and whirled around, her expression furious. "call me a dumbass again," she said, taking a step towards him. "i fucking dare you."
micah.
micah glared back at her, unfazed by her anger. or maybe demanding it. ever the idiot, ever the glutton for punishment. âdumbass.â
sofia.
sofia didn't let people talk to her like that under normal circumstances, but because it was micah, her anger seemed to be amplified. to make matters worse, she was stressed and exhausted. her eyes narrowed and she closed the gap between them with a few quick steps. "you fucking asked for it!" she yelled as threw her fist into his jaw.
julian.
to be honest, the shouting and name calling from the room didn't really spark julian's interest. it was expected from sofia and micah, and whatever they were arguing about, he didn't want to get in the middle of. but then he heard the sounds of a literal fight breaking out, and tore away from his spot next to verena. "hey!" he shouted, running up and putting himself at sofia's side, tugging on her arm. "what the fuck is going on?"
kimberly.
kimi did nothing, pinching the bridge of her nose as micah let sofia get a few good hits in. kimi was almost positive he could stop her if he wanted to, but he seemed content to let her wail on him for as long as she pleased, until julian stepped in. âmicahâs sleeping bag is missing,â kimi summarized, trying to keep herself calm. she fucking hated these people. âthat turned into him calling sofia a name, and she hit him.â because they were both dumb as shit.
naomi.
naomi returns to where they're all staying, now dressed in warm and dry clothes when she catches sofia punching micah and she sighs. why couldn't they just have (1) one normal trip? "micah enough." she tells him, now at his side with her arms crossed. she isn't surprised to hear that he was the one who started it, "where did you have your bag at? maybe one of the netflix people took it by accident."
sofia.
sofia knew that it wouldn't be long before somebody tried to step it, and was unsurprised when she heard julian's voice. she tried to yank her arm out his grasp, still pulling forward and trying to get another hit or two in. "i'm tired of micah's never ending parade of bullshit!" sofia said. after another minute of trying to escape, sofia finally relented and stopped pulling away from julian. "can you let go of me now?"
julian.
"are you gonna keep hitting him?" julian tested, his voice showing no signs of him letting up any time soon. he knew damn well that she would keep going if he let go then, and as much as he had his reasons for not liking micah, he knew his cousin was overreacting.
sofia.
"if he shuts up," sofia replied, trying once again (in vain) to wrench her arm from julian's grasp. she glared at julian for a long moment, then at micah, then back at julian. "fine. i won't hit him. are you happy now?"
julian.
reluctantly, julian let go, and then turned to micah, making sure his eyes were still in their sockets and he didn't need any real medical attention. "they packed just enough sleeping bags for everyone. you sure there's not an extra one lying around?"
kimberly.
kimi glanced up, diverting her attention elsewhere. she looked around, letting her pleasant mask drop slightly. she stepped away, allowing them to duke it out themselves. Â if she was lucky, sofia would kill micah, and he would cease to be kimiâs problem. but sofia would still be a problem â no, sheâd be the copsâ problem. just like damaris. kimi stored that away for future reference, and stopped to count the number of sleeping bags again. she was right the first time; everyone only had one sleeping bag, so micah had likely misplaced his, like the incompetent piece of shit he was. but, she mused, counting the number of people, how on earth did he misplace it? itâs not like there were many places he couldâve dropped it. even for micah, it didnât make sense. when she tuned back into the conversation, they were still on this. jesus hot sauce christmas cakeâ âmicah, just take mine.â she was so close to snapping, but was able to keep civil. just barely. âiâll give it to you when we get back inside, and iâll just sleep in the van. or â keep watch, if i have to, and iâll buy you a new sleeping bag when we get home. i seriously donât mind. in fact, iâll be happy to. but right now, itâs cold, naomi and zach are this close to being hypothermic, and that smell is somehow getting worse.â ...well. she was civil.
julian.
the smell. julian hadn't noticed it with the fight that had broken out. but that metallic smell had gotten worse. every little account of the goatman that julian could recall was flashing in his mind, and a thought crossed by that was too worrying to ignore. there were certainly only enough sleeping bags for everyone. there was no way micah had simply lost his. someone had a bad that wasn't supposed to. julian gripped onto the straps of his own backpack, taking a quick glance around, trying to count as he looked. ( he didn't want to be too obvious. ) the crew members were either filming, or packing their things. once julian looked towards that group of netflix members, he immediately turned away. "let's go. everyone, come on." he pointed towards the cabin. his hand was shaking, only a little.
naomi.
they don't need to tell her twice, naomi is already making her way inside the cabin, honestly wondering why no one had actually gone in instead of arguing. it was freezing cold out. once inside, she goes directly to her sleeping bag ( thank god it was still there ) and settles in. "can we try not to argue again? at least not tonight? it's already been weird and we don't need any unwanted tension to make things worse."
kimberly & micah.
micah didn't offer anymore complaints. he was a bit peeved that kimi called the van before he could, but he didn't want anymore shit from naomi, so he didn't say anything about it. once inside, kimi stayed true to her word, giving him her sleeping bag, before gathering her bag. julian was undoubtedly acting weird. and as much as she didn't like him, or anyone, right now, she was too curious for her own good. items in hand, she made her way to her (former? ugh) best friend's side. "what's that look on your face?" she asked quietly and tiredly, as if the arguing had physically exhausted her. she made sure he was the only one who could hear her, but kept her expression light enough that if someone were to look at her face, they wouldn't notice her irritation. "it's not because of micah and sofia, so what is it?"
julain &Â zach.
the moment they were inside, zach dove for his back, immediately pulling out a long sleeved shirt that he had packed and a sweatshirt. he hands the sweatshirt to naomiâthrew the sweatshirt onto naomi's lap, not even waiting for her denial that she didn't need it. "no more fighting, no more getting wet." julian, on the other hand, was moving quite slowly. he was backed up against the wall by the front door, double checking that everyone was inside again. he hadn't even taken his backpack off yet, and kept his arms over his chest. if it weren't for kimi's questions, he wouldn't have broken his stare at any of the netflix crew. "we packed the right amount of bags." he said, sternly, loudly.
naomi.
"thanks," she says to zach, slipping on the sweater and looking over at julian, "maybe we didn't. and with these netflix people, it could be possible that one of them just took it by accident. it happens. we're not perfect." naomi tries to reason with him, plus there isn't another explanation of the bag to go missing. if whatever was out there had something to do with it, she's certain one of the netflix crew people would have seen something or someone else from the group. "we're all just a little spooked about what happened tonight. that's it. it'll show up tomorrow and then things can go back to normal."
ashley.
ashley stayed quiet as the rest of the group discussed micah's missing sleeping bag. as strange as the situation was, she trusted naomi's judgement that it would turn up eventually. in all the commotion, she hadn't even noticed that the smell had faded. ashley opened her mouth to comment on it, but something on the ground caught her attention before she could. "hey, isn't this your sleeping bag, micah?" she asked, picking it up off the floor.
julian.
unless ashley had pulled the sleeping bag out of her ass, everyone had completely missed the person who actually left it there. julian walked to her, looking at it. "i think it is," he looked over to micah, letting out a long sigh. "how'd it get here?" he looked around to the group. "wait, how *did it get here? who had it?"
isaiah.
Isaiah glanced up from where heâd been stuffing his mouth with marshmallows - he hadnât been paying attention to anything anyone was saying until he noticed the irritated tone Julian spoke with, âwhatâs up?â He asked, voice muffled before he swallowed the marshmallows and stood up, walking closer to said sleeping bag. Isaiah opened his mouth, to say whoâs sleeping bag it was- only to glance around and see that there wasnât anything or anyone left to claim t. âMaybe we miscounted, it happensâ Isaiah tried to be the peacemaker, holding up his hands, âWeâve all been a bit distracted, yknow dude? All good, letâs wrap it up and go on wherever we need toâ he said, with a shrug, glancing around at the others to see if anybody else would agree
julian.
throughout the whole trip, julian was thankful to have one person dedicated to keeping the group calm and under control. though noami had tried, she was still the one advocating for everyone to jump in the lake an hour ago, and zach was of course dumb enough to follow. having isaiah around gave him a chance to take a step back and find reality again was nice. "how about we get the shots we need and call it a night? do you need anything for beyond the grave?" julian was eager to move past the fighting.
isaiah.
isaiah let out a grateful smile, glad to see no more bickering. he held his hand out, to take ashley's, and give it a reassuring squeeze. "sounds good, dude." he agreed. "i don't know- you're the genius here, you tell me." he shrugged. isaiah usually just stood where he was told to stand. he glanced over at micah and sofia, a small part of him still feeling worried for the pair because they hadn't been coping well. micah with drinking, and sofia with not sleeping. "look, if itll help everyone feel better, we can sleep in shifts. i don't mind takin' first guard. honestly." he said, genuinely. "so long as sofia sleeps first, though." he added, because he felt it was necessary
julian.
the idea almost brought a laugh out of julian. he appreciated the thought of it more than anything. âi donât think weâll need to. letâs just let things simmer down first. the last thing we need is everyone all sleep deprived.â as soon as he denied it, julian glanced over to the netflix crew, and rubbed his neck. âmaybe... weâll see...â he quietly said aside to isaiah.
alex.
a mental groan rattled around alexâs brain. as a girl who constantly checked and rechecked everything on pure reflex, she couldnât help but think that the majority of this situation couldâve been avoided. better awareness, better...anything, really. naturally, sheâd chalk this up to an irresponsible oversight rather than supernatural hijinks. ( ...and yet. that smell. the same one sheâd read about in most of the accounts of goatman sightings. fuck. nope, she wonât think about it. ) she looked around â there was her kind of estranged friend, her partner in crime whoâd punched him in the face, and her...well, kimi. all three of them in less than ideal moods. shooting off a quick text to kimi ( you can borrow my sleeping bag if you want. or at least, thatâs what i would say if i knew you werenât going to turn me down. i donât blame you if you wanna get away. / just...check in if you need anything and iâll be right outside, okay? ), alex sighed and made a path towards sofia, sitting down and drawing her knees to her chest. â...we should probably calm you down. adrenaline wonât help the nightmares any,â alex pointed out, fidgeting with the camera on her lap.(edited)
sofia.
having been freed from julian, sofia stalked away from micah and settled back down by her stuff, trying to shove everything back into her bag. she swore quietly under her breath as she resumed her task, pausing every so often to cast a dark look in julian or micah's directing. she didn't even look up when alex came over. "don't tell me what to fucking do--" she started, but then stopped herself once she realized who she was talking to. "sorâ-i mean, i didn't mean that. i thought you were someone else." she sighed and sat backwards, giving the other girl a suspicious look. "i should've never told you about those. what d'you suggest i do?"
alex.
ânah, you meant it. but itâs fine.â she shrugged, barely looking over herself. âmore than a few people are on edge right now.â after a moment, alex threw her head back, eventually letting it rest in its proper position once sheâd summoned enough composure for a smirk, hair messily framing her face as she lifted the camera up. she aimed it at sofia, then panned out to the space around them and let her voice drop a few levels. âso, hey, mtv â donât tell netflix â but welcome to our fucked up, haunted crib. i donât know about you, but i could use some windex. this place is an allergy attack waiting to happen.â a sidelong glance was shot at the cabin. alex would take anaphylaxis over this any day, but she wonât say it (yet). without even pausing to see if the joke landed well, her fingers closed around the phone in her purse; a few swipes to get to the music app, and alex was already slipping one side of her earbuds into sofiaâs ear. âi suggest you relax. or try your damned hardest to.â
sofia.
sofia rolled her eyes when she saw alex raise the camera, but couldn't keep a small smile off of her face. "or tetanus," she chimed in, casting a wary glance at the cabin before turning her attention back to alex and her camera. she raised an eyebrow as she dug around in her purse, and didn't even have the chance to say anything before alex's music was in her ear. "easier said than done," she grumbled, but she was already feeling the muscles in her shoulders relax. "what is this?"
isaiah.
isaiah shrugged yet again, glancing back over at the netflix crew, a little bit suspicious of them. he nodded to julian, to step aside with him. "yo, i mean. maybe it's the crew fuckin' with us." isaiah couldn't help saying, in a low voice. "i mean, they're here for a show right? maybe they're just trying to put us on edge?" that was the most logical thing to isaiah after all, none of them knew these people. he glanced back over at everyone else, already returning back to normal, and let out a small breath of relief. "so, we're setting up to sleep? should we try do dinner or somethin'? we can text kimi to come back here." he suggested.
julian.
it was the best explanation that anyone had come up with. julian wanted to be able to trust the crew that came with them, but after being on edge for hours at this point, he couldn't put his worry to rest. "maybe," he hummed, soon letting out a soft sigh. julian turned to look at his friend directly. "some of us already ate by the fire. i think⊠we're calling it a night." he was reluctant to say so. as for kimi⊠julian knew that if she didn't want to be bothered, there was no changing her mind.
isaiah.
isaiah nodded along, holding his hand out for a slap. at least him and julian could always agree on everything. "alright, we're calling it a night." he raised his voice, for the rest of them to hear as well, making sure to keep his eyes on everyone, for reassurance, and to ensure that there weren't any protests.
naomi.
when naomi wakes up, there's already a few people getting ready for the day and she stretches out to let out a yawn, looking around the room for a second before actually getting up. she grabs some of her toiletries and begins to make her way towards the restroom when she sees that zach is one of the few that's already awake. Â "why'd you get up? i was comfortable." she says, referring to how they'd been cuddling (bee and nikki vc fucking) the entire night.
zach.
since he wasn't getting much sleep in the first place, once zach noticed a few people waking up, he decided to join them. he was sat at a large, indoor picnic table, across from isaiah, picking at the protein bar he was having for breakfast when he heard naomi's voice. "hmm?" he hummed, finishing his bite. "what do you mean?" zach glanced at his friend, wondering if he had missed something.
naomi.
"don't act dumb, you know what i'm talking about." she pokes at his side, laughing a little. "you had your arms around me all night, obviously." naomi gives him a look, wondering if he really didn't know what she was talking about.
isaiah.
isaiah rubbed at his eyes and stifled a yawn for the 50th time that morning. he hadn't slept too well, and it seemed it was the same with everyone. he blinked in surprise at naomi, glancing up as zach did. "what?" he couldn't help letting out, laughing almost immediately, before looking over at zach for confirmation.
zach.
once isaiah started laughing, zach did, too. he couldn't help itâzach turned and faced naomi, grabbing hold of her hand. "nai, i wasn't even sleeping by you last night. i crashed next to isaiah, like, on the other side of the room." though he kept a smile, his eyebrows furrowed together. "you sure you didn't just dream it?"
naomi.
she feels embarrassed by the way both zach and isaiah laugh at her but shakes it off, "of course i didn't dream it." she says defensively, Â "someone was sleeping with me last night and if it wasn't you then who was it?" now, naomi begins to feel kind of uncomfortable with the idea of having someone else that close to her.
isaiah.
isaiah's eyebrows scrunch together, looking over at zach once again. if zach had left at some point to cuddle naomi, he wouldn't put it past his friend, but clearly he should own up to it now before things got weird. then again, isaiah hadn't recalled zach moving at all, the boy slept like a log. once he was out- he was out. Â "what do you mean sleeping with you?" isaiah asked after a small pause, looking over at naomi . "did they try anything?" he asked, jaw tensing for a moment.
zach.
in an instant, zach's whole demeanor changed. "wait, seriously?" zach had dropped her hand, and started looking around the room. he had no real reason to be jealous of anyoneâbut the fact that naomi seemed obviously uncomfortable made him angry. "who else was around you?"
naomi.
"i don't know." was the only thing she could reply to both their questions, " i just assumed it was zach and didn't think anything else of it. i don't even remember who was around me last night, i was really tired and freaked out about what had happened at the lake."
zach.
zach was having none of this guessing game. he stood up from the table, and didn't hesitate to look around the room and speak with a bombing voice. "okay, who the fuck was all up on naomi last night?" with his arms crossed over his chest, he waited.
ashley.
ashley rolled over, her eyes still half shut as zach snapped at the group. "what are you talking about?"
isaiah.
âDid anyone touch you last night?â Isaiah canât help but ask Ashley straight away
zach.
though he was focused mainly on naomi, isaiah brought up a good point. "yeahâdid anyone else feel anything? or did anyone see anyone fucking with people?"
isaiah.
Isaiah puts a hand on Zachs chest, to help him both of them calm down âalright, alright look- if you just own up, I promise Iâll stop Zach from doing anything stupid to youâ he tries to joke, looking around at everyone else.
ashley.
"no," ashley answered isaiah first before sitting up to glance around the room. "and no, i didn't see anything. naomi, what happened?"
sofia.
sofia rolled over with a groan at the noise, propping herself up on her elbows. her hair hung messily around her face. "wassgoingon?" she asked, still not entirely awake.
naomi.
now that the group's attention was on her and zach had properly caused a scene, naomi felt a little weird. "someone was, um, sleeping with me in my sleeping bag last night. i thought it was zach but as you can tell, it wasn't. seriously i won't be mad but, um, if whoever it was could say something, that'd be.... like nice...."
zach.
zach was eying everyone, ready to jump the second he saw something suspicious. but none of them were breaking. he was about to shout again, but was reminded of isaiah at his side, and stopped. he shook his head, and reluctantly looked to naomi. "it's not fucking funny, guys." he paused, "was anyone filming last night?"
ashley.
almost immediately, ashley jumped up, reaching for naomi to check in on her. "are you okay?" she really hoped it was just a misunderstanding. "why would anyone film while we were asleep? that's kinda weird. and it'd be really boring." although it would come in handy now, she really doubted anyone had set up a camera to film while they slept.
zach.
"i don't know," zach turned to the netflix crew, who were only still waking up themselves. "they've been filming this whole time, maybe they got something that we missed."March 27, 2018
alex.
oh god, this wasnât a dream. âoh god, this wasnât a dream. tempted to just throw herself back onto the floor and claim ignorance on account of sleep, a bleary-eyed alex groaned and propped herself up on her hands, somewhere close to but not quite sitting up straight â stirred awake by the noise. it took her a minute to fully process the scene, but when she did (thanks, naomi), an unimpressed scowl crossed her features. â...do we seriously have to have a consent lecture at whateverthefuck in the morning?â she sniped, arms crossed firmly. âcome on, this isnât daycareâitâs not funny. whoever it was, just drop the act already.â because if you actually make me look for video evidence of a dumbass prank, there will be hell to pay.(edited)
naomi.
realizing she had already caused enough tension and it was barely noon yet, naomi just shook her head and spoke up again. âitâs whatever just donât let it happen again.â she tells the group, looking at all of them, âi doubt anyone was recording anything last night because there wasnât any need to. itâs fine, seriously, sorry for waking you guys up.â and with that she grabs her things again and heads to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
sofia.
sofia had scrambled to her feet once it had dawned on her what was going on, but naomi was already heading for the door. she turned back to the rest of the group and crossed her arms. "well, who was it?" she asked. "maybe it was one of the netflix people or something. i mean, we don't know them."
kimberly.
kimi quietly slipped inside, taking only a moment to piece together what'd happened. it was obvious from the second she walked in that it wasn't any of them; all of them looked uncomfortable enough with what was happening that she immediately ruled it out. she glanced towards sofia, wondering if she was right. she wouldn't put it past strangers to overstep boundaries. still, she said nothing, not wanting to make things worse by dragging the conversation on.
julian.
julian, who had remained fairly quiet during the uproar, finally stood up from the floor and stretched his arms out, adjusting his glasses as he turned to kimberly. "you survive the night okay out there?" he asked, his voice still trying to wake up. he didn't like the idea of kimi sleeping alone in the van, but he wasn't in the mood to argue with her the previous night.
kimberly.
kimi nodded, turning her attention to julian. he still seemed teetering on the edge of sleep, but she doubted anyone would be getting back to sleep after this. "yeah. no signs of the boogeyman, anyway." she wasn't making light of what naomi and zach had seen, but she hadn't seen evidence of it herself. "i heard noises, but i think that's just what happens when you sleep outside." she glanced back to the other occupants of the room. "doesn't sound like it was so peaceful in here, though."
julian.
the boogeyman comment only made julian remember the panic of last night, and instantly made his good-morning-smile disappear. "it was⊠until naomi woke up." that seemed to be the case for a normal day, though. "the boogeyman was apparently cuddling up next to her last night," julian huffed, speaking sarcastically. but his eyes froze, wide.
kimberly.
kimi stared for a moment, before deciding to bite the bullet and ask why he had that look on his face, when they were cut off. "naomi said to drop it," micah said, as the conversation had apparently gone on without their notice. though micah was as protective of naomi as anyone else, he was more likely to respect her wishes than to drag on an unpleasant conversation in her honor. "chances are whoever did it pr... probably didn't mean to. let's just... eat, and move on."
julian.
it took a moment, but julian eventually agreed. "fine." he ran his hands in his hair once, and sighed. "most of the stuff for breakfast is already out," julian said, pointing to the little table where the food bags sat, along with a small cooler. "should be enough for everyone." it wasn't much, but they typically packed light.
alex.
âwhoâs doing the cooking?â alex mused, despite already getting to her feet and striding towards the kitchen area by the time the words had left her mouth. âânever mind. in the interest of avoiding another debate, i can at least pan fry up the meat or whatever.â summoning up the most of her usual enthusiasm, the brunette aimed a look over her shoulder, complete with a small smirk at the corner of her mouth. âno offense, but i donât trust half of you not to give me food poisoning. everyone wins this way. now make your requests or forever hold your peace,â she drawled nonchalantly, tying her hair back and out of her face.(edited)
naomi.
naomi returned from getting ready and sat down in an available seat around the table, pulling her phone to check on it before looking up at alex, " i'll just have whatever everyone else is having. what all did we pack?" she was sure they didn't throw in anything difficult to cook seeing as they were in a cabin in the middle of the woods. she looks through the food bags and sees that they managed to pack pre cooked food. "yeah someone already made this, you can just heat it up. saves you the trouble of being everyone's chef for the day." she jokes, motioning to the bags.
julian.
julian went ahead and brought out the disposable silverware, keeping a bowl for himself as he rummaged through one of the large bags. he pulled out a couple handfuls of miniature cereal boxes and left them out on the table. âif anyone wants cold waffles, those are in there, too.â he offered, taking the carton of milk out of the cooler. âyou can make us something when we get back, alex.â julian laughed. âwe need like, a taco party. thatâd be so fun.â
sofia.
sofia hurried over to the food as soon as she saw it, grabbing one of the cereal boxes and making a bowl of her. "mmm, i love a bowl of fruit loops in the morning," she said as she shoved a spoonful into her mouth. her sweet tooth really did the best of her at the worst times. "is there enough for everyone to have a bowl of cereal AND a waffle?" her mouth was still half-full of fruit loops as she spoke.
alex.
cereal and microwave waffles. ...of course. she really didnât know why she expected anything else. (god, would she kill for homemade hash browns right now.) âuh...sure, thatâs one way to go about things. i guess.â alexâs hands lifted once and fell to her sides in defeat before two fingers raised to pinch at the bridge of her nose; her own restraint was the only thing keeping the full body shudder over their breakfast options at bay. âokay, looks like i wonât be cooking, after all. âdidnât happen to pack any irish coffee in that icebox, did you, vega? i wouldnât mind starting the day off right.â
julian.
âone box of cereal each, and I think one waffle each. i didnât make the waffles, so i donât know. but donât go in for seconds until everyoneâs had something, sof.â julian pointed his spoon at her with a stern expression that quickly softened. âi think thereâs little starbucks mochas. the ones in the glass bottles?â julian held back a laugh. âor zachâs vodka.â
kimberly.
kimi grabbed a starbucks mocha and quietly made herself a waffle and some cereal. it was less than appetizing, but the alternative was not eating for the morning, and if she didnât eat, her filter would be gone. it was in everyoneâs best interest that she was fed. she took a seat on the ground and silently ate, glancing up every now and again as everyone went to grab their food. the food was going rather quickly, but that was only to be expected, given how many people there were. she sipped at her mocha and started scrolling through her phone, more interested in the horrible fanfic about her coworkers sheâd been reading last night than whatever everyone was talking about.
sofia.
sofia inhaled her cereal in what must have been record time. she drank the last of the multi-colored milk that was left in the bowl (because that is THE most important part) and marched back over to the food. "looks like everybody's gotten theirs," she said, looking around the room before searching through the bag. "what the fuck? jules!" she called, shaking the empty bag in his direction. "you said there'd be enough!"
julian.
âWhat?â instead of yelling from across the room, julian gave up, and stood up from his chair to get closer to his cousin. âi didnât even have one, there should be at least one left,â he grumbled, no longer upset at sofia, and instead confused. he took over, and looked through the bags himself. âwell who had more than one?â
kimberly.
âno one,â kimi said, stopping another argument before i could start. âi was watching, and everyone only got one. we must have just counted wrong again.â it was embarrassingly unprofessional to count both the sleeping bags and food wrong, but who was really surprised?
julian.
julian had to do a double take to make sure kimi wasnât messing with him. âkimi, there was at least enough for all of us. even with the extra guys. we wouldnât bring not enough food.â julian hated the amount of times theyâd been proven in the wrong this trip.
naomi.
naomi discards her trash and agrees alongside kimi, "yeah i was sitting right there and didn't see the same person come up twice."
kimberly.
kimi was, for once, thankful for naomi opening her big mouth. she was a little peeved that julian didn't believe her in the first place, but naomi's insistence helped. "exactly. everyone only got one. isn't there another pack or something that we can open up?" she was already contemplating going back to the van and just staying there for the rest of this horrible trip.
julian.
he looked back and forth between the girls, and his stomach began to twist into a knot. he didnât realize why-until the stench of rotten blood, thick and coppery, hit his nose. julianâs face scrunched up. âno-that was all we brought,â he firmly concluded, taking a few steps away as he looked around the room carefully.
sofia.
"julian?" sofia's had forgotten about her waffle now, and was instead giving her cousin a measured look. sure, maybe them forgetting a sleeping bag or a thing of food could have happened, but it seemed like there were too many things going wrong for it to be their normal amount. plus, there was that smell. "what are you thinking?"
julian.
"nothing." julian didn't want to admit what he was thinking, but more importantly, he didn't want to spread the toxic idea to anyone else. getting everyone scared for nothing would only result in the trip being worse than it already was. "sorry 'bout breakfast, sof." he turned away from the table, and kept his head down as he began to walk towards his backpack.
lana
lana pushed herself off the wall she had been standing with her back against. she was capable to realizing that something was off with julian, but she wasnât going to force it out of him. if this was a couple of month ago, she wouldâve without a doubt. now, it just seemed needless. she took a couple steps towards sofia, silently offering up the untouched waffle on her plate as julian walked away.
alex.
alex paused for the second time in as many days as she took stock of the room â a frown tugging at her lips as she tried to pinpoint when the hell everyone got so abysmal at keeping inventory. ( because that, at least, was easier to swallow than the alternative. ) she took one last drag of the iced coffee and sat it down, pushing off of the table to make her way to julian. her brows knit together in the picture of sympathy, and she lightly placed a hand on his shoulder. âhey,â she murmured, as if there was some way to squeeze youâre not going crazy and even if you were, underpacking doesnât make you a bad leader into one syllable.
ashley.
ashley's head tilted to the side as she watched the rest of the group discuss breakfast, not following why everyone was suddenly so concerned. so they didn't pack the right amount, what was the big deal? "what's going on? why does it feel like you all know something that i don't?"
kimberly.
if kimi had to guess, ashley felt like that a lot. nibbling on her lip, kimi went to go sit next to ashley. âash, we packed the right amount,â she murmured beneath her breath. âbut the sleeping bags, and the food, and then... you smell that, right?â as dumb as it seemed, even kimi couldnât deny that something was wrong now.
sofia.
sofia sighed as julian walked away, running a few fingers through her hair as she thought. she hadn't even tried to cause a problem or make him feel that bad but, as usual, this is where they ended up. "nothing my ass," she mumbled. she raised an eyebrow at lana when she walked over. "you sure?" but she was already reaching as she asked the question. "here, we can do halves. " she split it in two and handed the plate back to her. she hadn't really talked to lana much--not after silverwood. "thanks."
julian.
though he could hear some soft feet walking behind him, julian kept towards his backpack, only stopping once it was in his hands, and he felt alex's gentle touch on him. "i'm going to see what else we need to do today. talk with the crew. get things going as soon as possible." he knew what alex was trying to do. and although he appreciated it, now wasn't the time to sit around feeling bad for himself. "do you need anything?" julian finally turned to look at her, offering only a small, half-sided smile.
naomi.
naomi sees the way julian's entire body language changes but she doesn't say anything, especially since alex is already by his side. hearing his plans, she just gets up and straightens herself up, "yeah we should probably get some shots of the surrounding area. the faster we get everything done the sooner we get home. i swear i feel like we've been here a week and it's only been one night."
lana.
she opened her mouth, ready to protest sofia's suggestion of splitting the waffle but she stopped herself. there was no fighting with sofia. that was made clear long before the fight she got in last night. instead, she nodded her head and smiled as the plate was handed back to her. sure, this act of kindness wasn't enough to get sofia to forgive her after everything. hopefully, it was at least a start. "should we split up to speed up the process of going home?" lana asked, softly, and then took a bite out of her half of the waffle.
julin.
"splitting up wouldn't be too bad," julian responded, hearing lana's quiet question. "maybe get some EVPs and full-exposure shots around the place while kimi and i go through a couple questions with the crew. they want a sit down interview type-session about the place." he turned to his fellow researcher, making sure she was caught up to speed.
alex.
âi need something to do,â alex admitted, being largely on the same wavelength when it came to sitting around and letting herself drown in her own thoughts. when lana spoke and julian started doling out tasks, she immediately straightened up and nodded. âiâll get the atmospheric shots. already got a few from last night, but more couldnât hurt. but for godâs sake, everyone keep your phones on youâand charged.â that last part seemed a fitting reminder, and worth all of the exasperation alex put into it. theyâd never know when shit hit the fan, otherwise.
naomi.
"daniel had us carry walkie talkies when we went to silverwood the first time," naomi mentions daniel for the first time since the night she snapped at julian for calling himself a leader (i assume), Â "i mean granted we lost them due to... the circumstances we were under but they worked really well. we should invest in some of those because phones... well they're just not that reliable." naomi would also love to remind them that daniel would want them to quit arguing and fighting but now was not the time to bring that up.
julian.
julian gave a small nod, pointing to lana. "you should talk to lana about it." it wasn't said in a dismissive wayâit was an honest suggestion to naomi. "a little late now, but good idea. i'll make sure to keep my phone on me." he looked around the room one more time, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. "everyone good for a bit?"
julian.
hours had passed since anything major had happened. julian was sitting, going over a checklist in his notebook, carefully watching everyone else in the room. his knee bounced up and down quickly. though he was meant to be focusing on wrapping up the shoot, the only thing he could think about was that there were eighteen people in the room. fourteen mysterybusters, and four netflix crewmen. he could vividly remember complaining about there being seventeen people goingâdid he not tell micah to book seventeen plane tickets? the van they took over barely fit seventeen sleeping bags, with little room for another. there was always one crew member away from the others. the woman with dark, curly hair. she hadn't spoken muchâhad she spoken at all? did she ask any questions in the interview? each of the crewmen tended to keep to themselves, but her especially⊠julian held his breath. he turned the pages of his notebook back and back, until a page of scribbled notes was in view. likes groups. shapeshifts. blood smell. there was no way. she was just a weird crew member. julian lifted his head up to look at her, but the woman was already staring directly at him from across the cabin room. it made his heart drop into the pit of his stomach, eyes wide as they quickly dropped back down to his notebook. "fuck this." the voice was one he hadn't heard at all during the trip. every head in the room whipped back around to see who had yelled out. and it was her. speaking⊠somewhat normally. speaking as if a bit afraid. "you are all crazy. i am not spending another night here." the woman, who's name still couldn't be brought back to memory, stood up from her chair and walked straight towards the front door of the cabin. "i am going to go back to town!" she shouted, her voice still not having any normal inflection.
julian.
âis no one going to go after her?â after a few minutes of waiting to see if any of the fellow crewmen would follow her out, julain spoke out to the group. he stood up and looked out the window, the dark figure of the woman only just visible. âiâll see if i can get her to stay,â julian said with a huff of hair, heading towards the front door.
naomi.
before naomi could protest his decision, julian was already out there and chasing after the netflix worker. "i don't think that was the smartest idea." she says to the rest of the group.
julian.
julian v the goatman.
sofia.
sofia hadn't even noticed anyone had left the cabin. she still moody from the amount of bickering in the group, and was sitting off near the back of the room. her had her earbuds in, and the volume was turned up loud enough to tune out the rest of the room. maybe sensory deprivation would  help her calm down. she almost didn't notice the pounding on the door next to her. she paused, pulling one ear bud out. nope, there it was again. "what the fuck?" she said, glancing around the room to see if anyone else had noticed. finally, she stood up and wrenching the back door open. "who the hell--" her breath caught when she saw her cousin. she sprang into action, bending down and trying to pull him into the cabin as quickly as she could. "julian. julian. jules. oh my god. oh my god. GUYS! HELP!"
kimberly & micah.
kimi had noticed julian leaving, and while she thought it was a terrible idea, she wasn't his babysitter. if he made bad decisions, that was on him. she decidedly Did Not Care. at least, that was what she told herself as the minutes passed, and the knot in her stomach tightened. she was too protective, that was all. julian was her best friend ( with every passing minute, she just thought of how much they needed to make up already, she missed him ) and she worried about him. but it was nothing. it was nothing. it was âââ "julian!" she knew she wouldn't be help in getting him inside; she was too small and weak to help out. so she stood aside as micah slipped by, meeting sofia at the door. "i got him," he muttered, bending down to assist julian, as carefully as he could without wasting too much time. "c... close the door!"
julian.
the room was spinning, and julian hadnât even noticed that heâd fallen until he felt someone trying to help him stand back up. though he was only repeating what micah had said, he shouted out, âclose it! close them! everything-â he stopped for air, but didnât say anything else, and rather just leaned into micah. he wanted to take a few steps forward, but needed to breathe more before trying. the adrenaline was gone, for sure.
sofia.
every fiber in sofia's being resented the fact that micah was able to pick julian up when she wasn't, but even she knew that that wasn't important right now. she followed after the pair, slamming the door shut behind her and leaning on it. "should--should we...should we barricade the door? i don't, uh...i don't know what to..." she could feel her heart racing in her chest. her mind was going blank. sofia, who thrived under pressure, who always had some sort of action, was completely frozen. "is he gonna be okay? please say he's gonna be okay. please." her voice came out very quiet and almost like a child.
kimberly & micah.
"barricade it," kimi said, already looking around the room. she took on a firmer tone, because now wasn't the time to worry about a fucking façade. not when someone (something?) had hurt her best friend to such a degree. julian wasn't a fighter by any means, but he wasn't small, either. it wouldn't be that easy to take him down, and from what she could see, whatever took him down wasn't human. were those... bite marks? "zach, isaiah, nate, cris, find whatever you can to block the door. no one's going back out there. micah, is heâââ" "g-give me the first aide kit. and, uh... uh, something to stop the bleeding. a lot of cloth. s-some, uh, t-shirts or something. and some alcohol, if you have it." micah rattled off what he could imagine they needed at first glance, but he was hardly a leading expert on dealing with fucking... goatman wounds. ( a silly, dissociated part of him laughed at the thought that he'd somehow ended up being the team doctor, when it was the last position he wanted. ) ( a sillier part of him that wasn't so distant really entertained the idea of a goat person nearly killing their second leader. ) ( a part of him that was much too in the moment panicked at the thought of another leader dying because of this fucking job. ) "sof or vee, can you, uh, do you..." what are the words, what are the words, now is not the fucking time to not know this! "calm him down," he eventually settled on saying.
julian.
âiâm good,â julainâs response came out in a breathless huff, trying to pay attention to everyone around him. counting the people in the room when there was a burning pain all over his shoulder was impossible. julian eventually just gripped onto micahâs arm, stopping him from trying to help. âwhoâs inside? how many?â he cared less about a little blood and much more about making sure everyone was on the same page-no one gets in, no one leaves.without hesitation, zach and isaiah started moving around the old wooden furniture in front of the two main doors in the back and front of the cabin.
kimberly & micah.
"shut up." micah managed to put a bit of heat in the comment, but not a lot. he accepted the kit from kimi, but stopped when julian grabbed him. "what? what does that mââ" "sixteen." kimi did another quick recount just to make sure she was right. "there are sixteen people here right now."
j*lian âą zach-Last Friday at 12:59 AM
when he finally heard kimiâs confirmation, he relaxed. not much, but enough to actually catch his breath. âthere canât be more. ever.â he looked his friend right in the eyes, making sure she understood. âitâs still outside, but you have to keep checking.â had he hit his head, too? because he surely sounded insane.
kimberly.
hesitantly, kimi nodded. she didn't want to believe in this, but the evidence was almost literally staring her in the face. she couldn't deny that something was fucking with them. and julian had been hurt by it. "okay. just... let micah help you, and i'll make sure it's always sixteen." she looked to the others, glancing at the barricade they'd built. "is that going to hold against... something big?" because saying the goatman sounded both crazy, and hard to gauge.
sofia.
sofia had stood there in stunned silence, her wide-eyed gaze switching from her cousin, to micah and kimi, to the boys moving the furniture, to julian again. she finally willed her muscles to move, half-heartedly helping shove an old wooden armoire in front of the back door. "it's the best we've got," she said without looking at kimi as she passed her and headed towards julian. "you've gotta let micah do...whatever he's gonna do now, okay? please."
julian.
julian didnât even want to look at the bloodied mess that his arm must be, but having micah ( of all people, MICAH, who thought it was okay to walk out of the hospital nearly brain-damaged ) be the only one attending to him made his fear increase just a bit. âit just needs pressure,â julian mumbled to sofia, taking a cloth from micahâs pile. he turned to look at his shoulder, but couldnât work past the tattered clothing. âlemme take it off-â julian tried to push micahâs hands away to take his sweatshirt off.
micah.
micah let his hands drop, giving julian a blank stare. "go for it. as much as i d... dream of undressing you, i'm not stopping you," he deadpanned. "but it needs a little more than pressure."
julian.
it took a minute and a couple hard curses, but julian had managed to slip the sweatshirt off and get his first real look at the bite mark. looking to his cousin, he gave a slightly weary stare, âputa mierda duele,â he groaned, perfectly fine with letting her know just how he felt. âcan anyone try calling? kimi-can you get my phone?â
kimberly & micah.
"fair warning," micah said, glancing at the fullness of the wound. "this is going to hurt a lot." kimi balked at that statement, but she didn't linger on it. she grabbed her phone, glancing at her service bars. nothing. "i'm going to see if there's anywhere with better service. i'll be right back."
j*lian âą zach-Last Friday at 1:40 AM
âwait-â at first, it most likely seemed he was denying micahâs help. but julian reached out with his good arm to kimi, not able to hold onto her, but hoping it was enough to stop. âjust stay in here, kim. or-â julian took a deep breath. âquickly, okay?â he didnât want her to leave, but since he had no real reason for needing her to stay, he didnât try.
alex.
okay. the most capable ones were barricading the entrance, which was a start. a pathetic one, considering whatever the fuck managed to take a chunk out of julian's shoulder â fuck, alex, tranquila, you got this â "yo, zach, you still got that vodka? pass it over when you have the time." she called out with her most determined expression, then all but stomped over to julian and crouched down. alex wasn't used to not being useful, so now was about the time where she broke out everything in her repetoire. "whatever micah was about to do, i promise this is going to hurt more â but it's for your own good." seriously, has he seen this place? it's a standing tribute to tetanus, for god's sake.  at least sterilizing the wound would put the possibility of a future infection on the backburner, which would give them all a second to breathe.  her fingers twitched a constant rhythm at her thigh,  brown eyes worriedly flickering over to kimi; she'd debatably be the faster runner out of the two of them, but there was  no swaying kimi once the other girl got an idea in her head.  "...be careful. please."(edited)
kimberly & micah.
micah glanced up at alex, nearly exasperated, holding up the bottle of rubbing alcohol kimi had already handed him. âwhat do you think iâm about to do?â he was half-tempted to just let her do this, because he sure as fuck didnât want to. but now they were expecting him to, and heâd get a lot less shit if he just finished up. he uncapped the alcohol in his hand, and silently winced for julian. kimi took that time to slip out of the room, before the screaming could start.
alex.
"not the fucking time for your holier than thou bullshit, micah," alex snapped in a dangerously low voice, looking pointedly at julian, who was obviously in pain. Â "i was just trying to help. if you'd hurried up and done it, i would have never brought it up." knowing that arguing wouldn't get them anywhere, she reached out to squeeze julian's hand before following after kimi. another one of her friends turning into a victim in the middle of this godawful forestâespecially with no one around to help herâwould be the exact thing to set alex unraveling.
kimberly & micah.
micah didnât know what she was talking about, but considering he valued the opinion of all of two people in this room, one of which she would never be, he wasnât bothered. âand youâre not helping. so shut up, if you canât be useful.â he poured the alcohol over the wound, letting the excess fall onto a shirt. kimi, noticing she was being followed, didnât look back. she did roll her eyes, though. one day, someone in this group of idiots would learn how to take a hint. and she especially didnât feel like dealing with any of the more irascible members. if theyâd start an argument at a time like this, sheâd rather go on a date with the goatman. quietly, she kept her eyes on her phone, searching for a better signal. getting nothing, she started ascending the stairs, stopping near the top. it wasnât the best but three bars was better than nothing. she dialed 911, putting the phone to her ear. âhello? hi, my name is kimberly park, and iâ hello?â she glanced down at the phone, nearly swearing when she saw that sheâd lost service. she could guess it would happen all over the cabin, but she knew going out wasnât an option. she considered just going downstairs and reporting, but continued up anyway. anything to stay away from them for a little while longer.
alex.
alex trailed behind kimi until the other got to the upper floor; she was close enough to catch the one-sided conversation, and smart enough not to say anything as redundant and borderline idiotic as, ...well, did you get through? instead, she sighed and cast a puzzled glance out of one of the windows, hoping on some stretch of luck that she'd stumble upon the sight of that...thing...in the woods. she spared a look at her own phone, grimacing at the telltale x through the signal icon. god, she was absolutely useless. step by step, alex started to pace the perimeter of the room before as her frayed nerves got the better of her â everything was slipping so grotesquely out of place from the original plan, and she wanted to scream. fingernails bit into the flesh of her palms as she clenched her hands at her sides, before letting out an abrupt, frustrated sound. "i should try for a signal outside. if all else fails, i can make a run for the van."(edited)
naomi.
it was weird how even when julian was severely hurt and on the borderline of a panic attack, they still found a way to argue about something so dumb and trivial. naomi just stayed back and let them do what they had too, seeing as they had it all under control. kimi and alex had gone to look for a signal. she goes over to a window and moves the small, dingy curtain aside to see that someone had just pulled up. "hey guys..." she says, to those who weren't busy attending to julian. "someone's here." maybe kimi had actually gotten through to someone? but then again, they couldn't have gotten here that fast.
kimberly.
kimi had to take a moment to wonder what the fuck exactly made alex think that was even in the realm of good ideas. was it the barricade, or the injured julian that seemed to promote stupidity on this fine night? she kept her back to alex for another moment, so as to not let that show on her face, then looked over at her. âno. no, we can find a signal in here, just...â she couldnât find anything else to say, so she called again, and hoped that the signal held.
lana.
lana joined naomi's side at the window to see what she meant by someone is here. she didn't believe that anyone would voluntarily come up to this place and from what they've figured out long ago, it wasn't exactly like they would have been able to call for help. "what the hell?" whispering under her breath, lana took a step back. she and naomi watched as a man got out of an old pick-up truck and headed straight for the front of the cabin. "he's coming to theâ" and before she could warn the rest of them, he was already pounding on the door.
kimberly.
kimiâs call dropped just as the banging started. she startled slightly, glancing at alex, before heading back downstairs. âwhatâs...â her question fell as she realized where it was coming from. then, she was stumped, because now what could they do?
alex.
her first thought was self-preservation: if this was the goatman, they stood a better chance back up there than being curiosity-led dumbasses served up on a silver platter in the living room...but sheâs not quite heartless enough to abandon them completely. alex rolled her eyes, because of course this was happening. âsounds less like a demon and more like your run of the mill asshole in the forest with a shotgun, so thatâs something,â she commented with no shortage of sarcasm. alex leaned over from her position beside kimi. âguess our options are eavesdrop from the back or defusing the world of shit the others are bound to get into. your choice.â(edited)
julian.
âbill?â having been rather quiet ( aside from cursing at micah, who really didnât deserve it-he was doing his best ) julian yelled out, and waiting for some kind of response. âi think thatâs bill,â he finally told the group. he never had the chance to meet him in person, but the thick southern tang in his voice matched the person who julian had spoken to on the phone.
naomi.
"who the hell is bill?" naomi asks lana, or anyone really as she hears julian repeat the name. has julian finally lost it? the pounding continues and she hears 'bill' telling them to open up. "isaiah... zach... i don't know should we open the door?" she asks them, not moving from her spot besides lana.
julian.
since apparently no one reads the emails julian takes the time of carefully crafting and sending out, he tried to stand up, ignoring micah. âthis is billâs cabin,â he explains, a bit of a rush going to his head once he got on his feet. he stood still, looking at the door. âlet him in, donât just leave him out there!â he quickly tells the two boys.
alex.
âoh, for fuckâs sake,â alex huffed, marching her way to the front of the scene. she pointed at julian. âyou. lay back down before i find some way to sedate you.â steeling her nerves, she shoved a bit of the barricade away, unlocked the door, and eased it open â but didnât swing it wide enough to put the entire audience on display. âcan i help you, sir?â she asked politely, with her most disarming smile. it was likely that julian was something close to delirious, so him vouching for the stranger wasnât the highest of praises at the moment. she could at least vet him before deciding whether to let him inside.
naomi.
naomi watches uneasily as alex opens the door and speaks to the stranger. please don't let him be some psychopath she repeats to herself, waiting for him to say something since he was so eager to come in. "what the hell?" he looks around the room to see an injured julian on one side and all of the furniture pushed up against the wall. "what's goin' on here?" since alex is the one at the front, he directs his question to her.
alex.
alex placed a few fingers on her left temple and gave the man a wry half-smile, feigning sheepishness. âmy friend over here got bit by something nasty â feral fox, maybe? as you can see, heâs a little out of it, so weâre not sure â and barely made it back, so we were just trying to keep it out and make sure there werenât any repeats. donât exactly have tranquilizers on hand.â she was absolutely lying out of her ass right now, but at least she could do it with a pretty face and little to no tripping over herself, which was what actually mattered. â...you wouldnât happen to have anything with a usable signal, would you?â she pressed just as cordially, hopefully killing two birds with one stone. teeth worried her lower lip to sell the act, though her own anxiety wasnât complaining about it either. âwe should really get him to a hospital.â
naomi.
"a fox, huh? that don't look like no fox bite to me." Â the man looked around the room with a confused look *"ain't no signal out here, girl. closest thing you'll get to a phone is about twenty miles up north at the gas station with a pay phone and i don't even think it works." naomi pinches the bridge of her nose at what he says. of course she didn't know what she expected with the 'good' luck the group had. "if y'all are so scared to leave, then why did i see one of you's out there in the woods on my way up here?" now naomi looks at everyone with a confused look. kimi had done a headcount and everyone was accounted for so what was he going on about?
alex.
creases slowly started forming between alexâs eyebrows; the hand at her head dropped and signaled a pause as she looked back at the mysterybusters. their collective expressions were confirmation enough: this guy had no clue what he was talking about. after the sight of julian, theyâd all cut their losses and stayed inside. she turned to address him again, insisting, âbill, i promise you that everyone who needs to be in this cabin is in this cabin. if you saw someone out there, theyâre definitely not one of ours.â assurance radiated from her words, but alexâs thoughts were already churning. first a sleeping bag goes missing, then thereâs not enough food, now thereâs someone hanging around who isnât supposed to be here...
kimberly.
âlet him in.â kimi spoke before she could talk herself out of it. because bill had very clearly seen something out there, and it wasnât one of them. and something was out there in the woods, fucking with them, hurting them. she feared bill would die if they left him out there any longer. she didnât particularly care about his life, but she was interested in what heâd seen. âquickly, then push the barricade back to where it was.â
alex.
alex widened the gap in the door and stepped backwards, being sure to shut and lock it immediately after bill breached the threshold. âsomeone get that, please,â she muttered, gesturing at the stack of miscellaneous furniture. she herself took a few steps to the nearest window, cautiously peering out of it.
julian.
feeling rather threatened by alexâs stern tone, julian had listened and swiftly sat back down in front of micah. âa girl, right?â julian asked, his voice finally not shaking like it was before. âdid it look like a girl? did she talk to you?â his questions rattled out quickly, hardly giving bill much time to answer.
naomi.
to be honest, bill had no idea what kind of drugs these kids were on and judging by the blood and everything else, he didn't want to know. Â "what do you mean do it look like a girl? hell yeah it was. tried to talkin' to her and she just stood there." weary eyed, he looked at julian then at everyone else. "i gotta get goin'. just stopped by to say there's a bad storm comin' and all the roads are goin' to be closed till mornin'. make sure he doesn't die and clean the blood up my floor." he points at julian before looking at the group once more and leaving. as soon as he leaves, nate and isaiah barricade the door again with the furniture and naomi turns to the rest of the group. "what the hell just happened?"
julian.
âwe canât leave until morning?â julian repeated, feeling a wave of anxiety crash into him. âwe might be able to make it if we pack up, and leave now. we have to try, right?â there was no way they could last an entire night with that thing out and about. âbill said he saw it, itâs close-we have to leave while we can.â
sofia.
sofia seated on the floor next to julian, her body language tense and protective. she glared at bill has he left. "but if it's close, then it'll just get us when we're trying to leave," she grumbled. "plus, i don't think you should be moving unless it's into an ambulance, or at least when the roads are safe."
naomi.
"leaving now is only going to put us all at risk. we can't do it." she agrees alongside sofia and crosses her arms, "we'll just barricade the doors and stay together until tomorrow. the second it clears up we make sure you're out of here and on the way to the hospital."
julian.
a couple stitches were needed, sure. but an ambulance? the thought of everyone having to go to that much trouble for him made julian mad. âwhat if barricading them isnât enough?â
alex.
well, there it was. the supporting evidence that alex absolutely didnât want, but somehow still needed. there was an intruder, none of them were going crazy (at least, in this context), and it could make its way back here without anyone being the wiser. and they were stuck here, for the rest of the night at minimum. who knows what could happen to any of them in a handful of hours. â...someone should keep night watch. or a group. no one gets in, no one goes out.â alex clenched her teeth, knowing good and well sheâd be up all night trying to process this shit, anyway. âi donât mind doing it.â
ashley.
"but nothing's gonna happen to us, right?" ashley spoke up, still trying to wrap her head around what happened. "maybe he saw someone else out there, there are other people in the woods, aren't there? and besides, if it was gonna, like, hurt us wouldn't it have done that when it was hanging around all yesterday and last night? why would it wait until now?" it didn't make complete sense, but ashley was able to convince herself that maybe they had to go to it for it to hurt them. that's why it did something to julian and not to the rest of them when it was sleeping in the same room as the group.
julian.
âi donât know, ash,â with a scruffy, tired voice, julian responded to ashley. âi think it just likes to fuck with people.â he looked to the window, only able to stare out for a few seconds. âit could have killed me if it wanted to. itâs huge. it could take us all. but...â julian looked around for his notebook. âpeople said it doesnât like to be spoken about. and what have we been doing since the second we showed up?â
naomi.
âtalked about it.â naomi sighs for what seems like the millionth time that day. she sees the clouds in the sky from the window and can tell itâs going to start raining any minute. âif alex wants to keep watch, someone should do it with her. isaiah?â sheâd volunteer herself but naomi has no idea what sheâd do if that thing came back and wasnât going to put the group in more danger. âi think... that if we just stay together and not argue like we do all the time, we can beat this thing. letâs just not talk about it anymore and try to stay calm for the rest of the night.â naomi doesnât know where this sense of wisdom came from but she hopes it doesnât annoy the rest of the team. she cared about them... all of them and just wanted everything to straighten back up a bit. just a little.
sofia.
"i can keep watch with alex," sofia volunteered. not like she was going to sleep anyways. if anything, seeing julian get hurt, even a little, brought her back to her sister's accident. that's why she wanted an ambulance--so he could get checked out properly. she nodded as naomi kept talking. things had been really tense. it made sense; it was their first trip after silverwood. everyone was on edge. "naomi's right," she said, standing up. "everyone should just try to get some sleep."
julian.
julian didn't have much energy left to fight his cousin. plus, with naomi's new peace-speech, he shouldn't even be disagreeing with her. so, he didn't bother trying. "don't stay up too long, you guys." though, it was mostly directed at sofia, who julian knew hadn't been getting much sleep recently anyways.
kimberly.
kimi was fully prepared to go back to the van for the night, before realizing that wasnât an option. she lingered by the barricade for a moment, wondering what the hell she would do. she honestly wasnât in the mood to sleep near anyone tonight, but being alone wasnât in the cards, either. she instead headed to the bathroom for at least a bit more alone time. when she came out, a little under five minutes later, things were calm enough that she figured they would survive the night. she was about to set up a sleeping bag nearer to the door, only to stop when the banging started again. she jumped, moving away from the barricade. â...bill?â she called tentatively, a horrible feeling in her stomach. bill didnât respond. she would say no one responded, but someone did. it just wasnât a someone so much as it was a something. the sound was all off, and it was first thing she noticed. the banging continued, and that horrid voice that was so clearly not a human cried, âME! UNLOCK THE DOOR, ITâS ME!â it was a shattered mockery of julianâs earlier cries, and it made kimiâs chest twist painfully. but the thing sounded nothing like julian, or bill, or anyone. it sounded and felt all wrong. much, much later down the line, she would admit that she was scared. for now, she didnât look away, but directed her next question to the others. â...it canât get in. right?â(edited)
julian.
micah did his best patch job on julianâs shoulder, but there wasnât much more to be done than use the little roll of gauze to wrap it up. he was trying to make himself comfortable on the floor, but it was nearly impossible. and just when he had gotten into a good position, the screams from outside instantly made him jump. he waited, frozen, for kimiâs reaction. âno.â Julian said, only just loud enough for her to hear. âkim, turn off the lights.â maybe if they all stayed quiet, it would leave.
kimberly.
kimi immediately obeyed, moving as quickly and quietly as she could. she stayed still by the lights, waiting for the thing to go away. it didnât. it kept banging at the door, yelling to unlock!! kimi clenched her jaw, praying that if everyone just stayed quiet, this would be over sooner than later.
alex.
alexâs blood ran cold at the shrieking, all of the color draining from her face as her eyes went from narrowed anticipation to full blown, silent terror; there was something dissonant about the words just by their tone. an undercurrent of something â nails sliding down a chalkboard, an instrument playing jarringly off key. a sickening and unfamiliar feeling crawled across her skin, making her wish she could peel it off. even when the lights went out, alexâs vision stayed fixed on the door, not a word even tempted to make its way out of her mouth. all she did was reach down, and  navigate to the voice recorder on her phone. (because at least then, theyâd leave here with something besides various mental traumas. ...or, you know. leave evidence.)
naomi.
the way that thing was talking made naomi's skin crawl and the smell from before was only growing stronger. she wanted to gag and maybe even throw up but doing that was only going to cause more noise and they just wanted for it to go away. she shuts her eyes and covers her ears, quietly whispering to herself in hopes that it'd drown out that god awful screeching.
julian & zach.
after making sure the barricade was secure by putting one last chair quietly in place in front of the back door, zach inched away. help me! come here! it kept going, zach taking steps backwards every time he heard a break of silence. he looked over his shoulder, and quickened his pace, trying to reach naomi on the other side of the room with as time wasted as possible. the sounds had stopped, and he took that as his opportunity to go. of course, in the dark, he couldn't see shit. his foot collided with the cooler of water bottles and soda cans on the ground, rattling the entire container. he cursed, and managed to keep it from completely falling to the side. for a beat, there was still silence, and zach was frozen in place. thenâ LET ME IN! he jumped, and sprinted across the room, promptly sitting down on the floor by a sleeping bag, and tugged naomi down with him. "i'm sorry," he muttered, his hand dragging down his face.
kimberly.
kimi's eyes slammed shut as she quietly prayed that the thing wouldn't register the noise zach unintentionally made, and for a moment, she thought they'd gotten lucky. then it started up again, somehow even louder than before, and she was so close to losing what small meal she'd had this morning. she kept it down, simply shaking her head at zach's apology. it would've happened to someone eventually. "don't move," she whispered to the others in the room, though it didn't matter much, considering the thing certainly knew they were in there. still, the less noise and movement, the better, she thought.
naomi.
oh zach of course it had to be him who made a noise. she just pressed her finger against her lip and nodded her head to tell him it was okay but to just stay quiet. the  thing outside continued to screech and repeat the words julian had said and honestly? it was even more terrifying now. it seemed like forever had passed by but suddenly the smell and the noise went away. naomi waited a few minutes before whispering "is it gone?"
alex.
alex said nothing; she simply saved what sheâd picked up and let the app start running again, pressing her body against the wall in an attempt to catch any noises from outside. eyes darted to the nearest window, a bit frantic â as long as everyone stayed away from his (fuck it, THE GOATMANâs) line of sight, they should be in the clear. pulling a dissatisfied face, alex murmured, âregardless...weâre here until morning.âApril 3, 2018
micah.
"you think that... thing will be gone by morning?" micah asked, keeping an eye on the door. he edged back a little, further out of sight from the window. as much research as they put into this trip, he doubted any of them took it seriously, leaving them sorely unprepared for this situation.
zach.
"it wasn't bugging us during the day," zach whispered back, but sighed, "i don't knowâat least we can get the fucking van out of the woods tomorrow." a mad run for the car should be enough, zach had thought.
AND THE RESULTS ARE...
go after netflix worker: 6 people voted for julian to leave the cabin. stay in cabin: 1 person voted for julian to stay put.
FURTHERHQâS BUTTERFLY EFFECTÂ Â /Â Â CHOICE ONE.
we stan until dawn in this house so weâre gonna do more choices / polls just like they do in the game ! the first one being: should julian stay in the cabin or go after the netflix worker ? make sure to submit what you want him to do HERE and whichever choice gets the most votes will be what heâs going to have to do ! remember that whatever ends up being the end result will affect the plot somehow so !
group meeting » event.
we love to have fun, here.
julian
to be fair, julian waited as long as he could for the rest of the team to show. it wasnât as if he could force anyone to the meeting; but considering they went to the trouble of planning it in the first place, he decided someone had to get the ball rolling. âokay,â he said loudly to the room, sound traveling much better in the smaller office space, âi think thatâs everyone whoâs going to show up...â julian cleared his throat one last time, looking around. âare we ready?â
naomi
âguess we are....â she sat back in her chair and looked at everyone in the group. it was sad how they went from having twenty members to sixteen. even though it didnât seem like a great loss, to her, it was.
ashley
ashley pulled her knees into her chest, readjusting as julian spoke. nodding in response to his question, she didn't say anything. she still didn't really know what the point of the meeting was, but at that point it felt like it was too late to ask.
kimi
kimberly hummed in response, not bothering to glance around the room. the mood was somber enough without the reminder. it was best, probably, to get the meeting done as quickly as possible. if someone started crying, she couldnât promise she wouldnât break out in hives or something.
verena
verenaâs hands fidgeted as she looked around the room. sheâd gone into this meeting with strength and confidence, but now that she was in front of everyone, she couldnât help but second guess everything. sheâd always wanted to be the leader of the group, but everything felt so wrong as she swayed back and forth on her feet. nodding towards julian, vee agreed, Â âyeah, we should get started.â
sofia
sofia was too tense to sit down. instead, she leaned about against one of the walls, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. despite the vibe of the room, there were still some waves of resentment coming off of her. she was excited to finally understand what the hell was happening. that didn't negate that fact that she felt like she'd been kept in the dark when her life (and the lives of people she cared about) could've been in trouble. "can we stop talking about starting and actually say something?" she asked. patience had never been one of her strong suits.
micah
micah wasnât even sure he was supposed to be here. given that he was dragged along, he figured it was fine, but he wasnât entirely certain he still worked here. he did quiet, however under the radar it was. regardless, he felt just as bored by the tense silence as seemingly everyone else. âwhat is this meeting about, anyway?â he asked, genuinely curious. he was vaguely certain someone had told him before, but he canât remember what they say on a normal day, let alone this one.
cristian
coming in late, cristian swung the door of the office open in the midst of the tension, immediately noticing that he hadnât missed much. he pursed his lips rigidly as he glanced around and took a seat in the back of the room. he didn't have much of an idea what was going to be discussed, let alone what to say, but he adjusted in his seat and looked on regardless.
julian
"wellâŠ" he looked around the room, and, seeing as the one person he knew for sure was aware of the news wasn't in attendence ( elijah was impossible to get out of bed ), he decided to break the news to the group as a whole. "right before the 17th, daniel had signed our official contract with netflix." ever since, julian had been the one recieving an influx of emails, and figured the rest of the team still wasn't sure if the deal was really going through.
naomi
"we saw the tweet. well at least i did." she waves the phone in her hand before setting it down on the table. "so like... we're really going to do it? have you heard when we're supposed to start... all the legal terms... aren't we supposed to get like a manager or something to help us with this? it's just... a lot."
lana
she sat up in her seat, shocked by what she was hearing. she couldnât believe that no one else was protesting this idea yet. after what had happened, doing a tv show didnât seem like a smart thing to do. âwaitâ no. weâre not actually still doing it, are we?"
julian
before he had a chance to answer naomi, julian listened to lana, her question making him frown even more. "well, that's kind of what we need to talk about. netflix still expects us to follow through with itâthat's what the whole contract signing wsa for. but if we really don't want to, i'm sure we can get out of the deal. it's a big choice, though. it's not like we'll be getting this opportunity again." looking to naomi, julian shrugged. "eli is supposed to be the one handling all of this, but⊠he's having a hard time, still."
ashley
"we have to do it," ashley said immediately. she was as hesitant as anyone was about starting anything up again, but clearly daniel had put a lot of time into this, and if he didn't tell anyone he must have been excited enough about it to want it to be a surprise. they couldn't just back out after everything he had done. "i mean, we're going to keep making videos either way, why not just get more attention for them?"
naomi
"i agree with ashley. it'd feel weird to just pass this up." she gets saddened at the mention of eli, feeling slightly guilty that she hasn't checked up on him.
micah
âiâm with them,â micah says, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. itâs virtually impossible to get comfortable, so he gives up sooner than later.Â
kimi
kimberly stays quiet for a moment, thinking it over. âi donât think we should waste the opportunity.â mainly because a) she hates lana, and b) it is a good deal, and theyâll never get another one. âis there any way we can... i donât know. be more careful about it? so we arenât putting ourselves in more danger?â
elijah
" -- eli is fine." he said, seemingly materializing out of thin air at his name's mention, looking more like a ghost than a guy. eli was not fine. eli hadn't slept for days and hadn't smiled in weeks. eli hated himself to death, but he loved daniel even past it. "we have to do the show. it was what daniel would have wanted." his voice dropped several octaves and cracked in places, much like his heart. "it was his final request."
lana
lana was expecting to be alone in her argument. what she wasn't expecting was the next thing that came out of her mouth, but it came out like a reflex. "what daniel would have wanted was to be here right now, Â yet look at us." she realized how bad it sounded after the fact, so she slumped back into her chair.
julian
hearing everyoneâs arguments only made julianâs nerves grow stronger. he looked down to vee, then over to elijah. âbut heâs not,â he said in response to Lana, yet kept looking at eli, âso we have to do what we think is best for everyone.â julian paused for a moment. âwould you be ready to take the lead on it, eli?â
naomi
she sighs loudly at lana's comment, "lana... why? why would you think saying that was a good idea." scoffing, naomi sits up and looks at eli, "you don't have to do it if you don't want to."
verena
verena stood silently. listening to everyoneâs thoughts, she knew there was only one choice they could make. she only worried that it would tear them apart even more than it already had. âso hereâs the deal. to break this contract would  mean getting a lawyer and since we havenât produced any footage lately, we canât really afford it... so, weâre doing the show. for daniel, for blair, and for gina. if you donât feel safe o-or comfortable with this, weâll all understand if you donât want to be apart of it. but this netflix deal is happening.â her gaze fell on eli, her expression softening. âwhat do you think eli? one last project? for our friends?â
elijah
eli's jaw clenched at lana's statement. watch it, solana, he'd thought darkly. after all, the only reason they were dead was because of her daddy dearest. are you ready? his hand was shaking â thank god it was in his pocket, away from public view. was he? on the one hand, he wanted to throw up, but on the other hand daniel thought he was ready. and if he thought he was ready, eli thought he must be. and he was. he was shaken, stirred and wrought with rotting sadness but he had been ready for this his whole life. "no. no i want to." a newfound confidence was in his voice, the first in ages. "everything they worked so hard to create. it shouldn't die with them. it can't. it can't be for nothing." with that, he adjusted his glasses and tried to look leaderly, channeling the late daniel taupo. "you know what vee? i think it's time we stopped going just beyond the grave and started going --" he smiled, beautifully, brilliantly, like a rainbow after a hurricane. "F U R T H E R."
zach
from his place next to naomi, zach had to stiffle a laugh. it was hard to take the meeting seriously when he was only half paying attention, and really didn't have much say in any choices made. he thought elijah's overdramatics were refreshing, for once, and beamed a smile as he quietly spoke up for the first time that evening. "past beyond the grave? are we digging straight down into hell, now?"
lana
there was a brief moment of silence where a small laugh of lanaâs was heard. she was in honest disbelief, âyou guys are kidding, right? this is a joke youâre playing on me?â she slowly rose out of her seat and looked around to find some sign of humor in their faces that would answer her question. âi havenât seen most of you in weeks, there is an actual serial killer planning our deaths, and iâm about one hundred percent convinced that there has been a curse placed on us but you guys think going along with this show and putting even more people at risk is a good idea? they'll be walking directly into the fire we've made and you think we should let them? please, tell me youâre kidding.â lana finally let out the breath she was holding since she started speaking; this mightâve been the most sheâs said since being apart of the group.
ashley
although lana had a point, ashley's thought was that more publicity was better. the more important they were, the more protected they were. she didn't know how true that was, but it made sense in her mind. she opened her mouth to say that, but was distracted by something else lana mentioned. "wait," ashley said, eyebrows furrowing. "what's the curse?"
julian
lana voluntarily speaking made julian shut up instantly, listening to her and paying extra attention to her worries. he avoided looking at her at first, knowing why she was coming so strongly from a different side, and feeling guilty for opposing her. "mayer isn't going to stop no matter what we do. i think we can all agree on that." he looked around to see if anyone else thought the same. "it's netflix, i'm sure their security is better than nate⊠no offense," to said to the boy mentioned. being so wrapped up in the moment, julian took a moment to process the small voice peeped out by ashley. "no one's cursed, ash. it's just been a rough timeâŠ" he said, dismissively.
naomi
she wanted to say something to lana and her rant, but the second she mentioned the curseâ naomi knew it was time to bring that up and worry about everything else the other girl had said later. "yes, we are cursed." she stands, in order to get the group's attention, "lana and i didn't put it together till after blair and daniel died.... " naomi takes a deep breath, trying to process everything she was about to spill out to the group. "the night gina died, we found a watch in the closet in one of the rooms at the frat house. the watch... it belonged to mayer." she says his name with so much hate, she almost begins to get riled up again. "we had no idea what it meant or what it had to do with anything until it started a countdown. Â when the countdown was over and done with, gina died." naomi pauses, waiting for a reply from the group before continuing, "not only did gina die but it triggered something. a curse, maybe. then lana found something in one of the books that we kept at the headquarters..." she feels nervous at the thought of bringing damaris up, since the girl was just a few feet away from her. naomi has no idea what the piece of jewelry that hangs from her neck has the power to do. if a watch could countdown to someone's death, what could a simple locket do? "sabrina cursed a necklace when she was alive. it disappeared shortly after her death and no one knew where it went until now..." eyes lock themselves to the item and then to meet damaris' gaze, "damaris where did you get the necklace?" it was a rhetorical question, obviously but naomi only asked that to let the team know where the cursed item was and who had it.
julian
catching on to naomi's not-so-subtle accusation, julian was quick to intervene. ânomi, letâs not start pointing fingers at anyone, okay? can we just get back to the whole show weâre about to start producing soon?â
kimi
âare you serious?â it was a nicely watered down version of the are you fucking kidding me running through kimberlyâs mind. she glanced to julian, hoping to see at least he thought this was all a joke, but he just looked like he wanted to avoid the topic. useless. unsurely, she glanced at damaris. âis that even possible?â
naomi
"julian we can't ignore this. she could be dangerous. i don't know about you but i don't want to end up like gina, blair and daniel. we've lost one too many people already." they needed to resolve the problem at hand now before it was too late.
lana
"naomi is right. if it means it'll solve some of the problem, i'd like to know, too..." she turned to damaris, heart still beating faster than usual due to the adrenaline she got during her speech. "let us see the necklace."
cristian
a curse ? a fucking curse ? cristian's brows drew together intensely as he analyzed the details to himself, the news sending a rush of nerves down his spine. however, at the same time, he supposed that would explain a lot, but it was still creepy to hear. and especially with the fingers beginning to point at damaris, the bad feeling in the air and in his stomach couldn't be ignored. Â eyebrows still furrowed, cristian glared at julian, â won't be much of a show if we don't solve all of our shit first. this the kind of baggage you want to bring to a big production, vega ?" the male's face stayed serious, but avoided looking at damaris. "considering all of our shit luck, i don't doubt it."
julian
"no, i'm notâ" getting only a bit frustrated with the group, julian reminded himself to take a moment and collect himself before bursting out at any of them. "i just think right now we should be focusing on something that'sâŠ" he knew a wave of hate was about to be directed his way, but he'd already made his bedânow it was time to lay in it. "we should be focusing on something real, like the damn show. not some⊠cursed necklace."
naomi
âyou donât think itâs real? of course you donât, why do i bother asking? if thatâs the case then why do you want us to do the show if you donât even believe in half the stuff we do?â at this point, naomi was starting to feel anger and frustration.
lana
her eyes quickly glanced towards julian again; hearing him doubt the situation especially bothered her. did he not believe her the first time she explained this to him? did he think she was crazy this whole time? lana was clearly hurt, âseriously? what are you getting out of this?â she added on to naomiâs questions, âwhat is it? money? fifteen minutes of fame?â her head tilted to the side as she eyed verena and then him once more, âor is it someone in particular?â
julian
it didnt matter how accurate lana wasâjulian was already building up his defenses, and had them ready to spit back at her the moment she glared at verena. "i'm here because i care about you all," he turned to naomi, giving her a soft knowing look, "because i'm invested in this shit," julian then turned to lana, giving her a much harder knowing glare. "i don't have to believe in this stuff to give a shit about everyone. and pointing fingers at damaris off, what, a hunch, isn't fair. it's not right."
cristian
cristian rolled his eyes at julianâs comments. âas much as iâd love to hear all about your heartfelt bullshit, julian,â he spoke sarcastically, before returning to a firmer tone. Â âno oneâs accusing anyone of anything. it was just a simple question.â cristian gulped, nervous about his next comments -- the notion of having to bring up the necklace worrying him. after all, ever since the halloween party, cristian had been getting bad vibes from damarisâ behaviour, particularly her behaviour that night. they were cryptic vibes that were all too familiar, so it was difficult to have to face, but part of him knew that something was up . . like something inside of him was telling him that there was. âwhat, weâre not allowed to take a look at some necklace? you said it yourself, you donât believe in this shit â what do you care?â cristian argued, narrowing his eyes and cocking a brow that provoked a challenge , âunless youâre afraid.â
kimi
this was getting out of hand. kimberly hoped she wasn't the only one who felt that way, but everyone who chipped in only seemed to want to argue. kimi wanted to defend julian, of course she did, but even she was curious about the necklace now. she wasn't sure she believed in a curse, but it would be easier to at least sort this out so they could move on. "ju ju, we're not going to move past this if we don't figure it out," she said, in a softer voice than usual. it was closer to her real voice, as opposed to the cute, perky one she usually used, which she hoped julian took as a sign that she wasn't siding against him. she resisted the urge to glare at the rest of the occupants in the room, her defensiveness almost getting the best of her. Â "let's just look at the necklace."Â
micah
"then what?" it was the first time micah'd spoken in a while. he didn't think it'd do much good to agree with anyone. did he believe they were cursed? no. but something was going on, and he just wanted to figure out what it was. still, he didn't see how taking damaris' necklace would solve anything. "we look at the necklace, and what? that somehow breaks whatever curse we're supposedly under? it can't be that easy."
lana
julianâs way at avoiding her question was all the answer she needed, she nodded at him with a taunting smirk on her face. âitâs not that easy,â she added. lana already knew what they needed to do, but she was waiting to see what kind of fight the so far concerningly quiet damaris would put up for the necklace. âlook, it might not even be anything,â it was. âit wouldnât hurt to check out, though.â she mightâve been lying, at least she was taking a nicer approach than she initially wanted.
vanessa
"a cursed necklace?" to say nessa's face lit up like it was halloween again would have been an UNDERSTATEMENT. she was, for the first time in forever, ecstatic. finally they were back onto what had brought them together in the first place. finally, they were moving forwards instead of wallowing. the netflix show was only interesting for those that cared, but this was what nessa loved, and thrived on, and she couldn't exactly hide that. " if it was cursed by sabrina then there's a chance it's got some of her ESSENCE- i could communicate with her-" maybe she was moving a hundred miles a minute considering damaris hadn't even spoken up yet, but she really thought she had to, especially when the group moved as quick as they did, "i'd love to try. can i please have it, before you stab it with a basilisk fang, or... whatever it is you're planning-"
damaris
"what- no, vanessa," it was a terrible moment for her to find her voice. not at all the first words she'd have wanted to come out of her mouth - how suspicious she imagined it'd look to them, only clearing her throat and speaking up when there was talk about mangling the necklace, instead of when naomi had asked for it and she'd stared back in dumb silence. that had all she'd been able for, though, for a time at least. it was too much to take in at once. they'd gone there to have a meeting, to talk through the netflix show, and she'd resigned herself to being quiet and letting them hash it out amongst themselves - the subject suddenly turning to her necklace had shook her, and it had left her... well, considering she didn't have any time to think - speechless. her hand had gone almost sub consciously to the locket around her neck only for SOMETHING to stop the movement - stop it when it was nothing more than a twitch of her fingers, stopping her from drawing attention to what they couldn't see beneath the turtleneck, so when she said, finally, "i don't have it anymore", it was believeable. or as believable as it could be. "it's gone-" she added, before her first words could settle, and she didn't know why she was LYING or what was possibly pushing her to do so, but she knew it was important to, because the locket was important. "it was just a... a really old locket. the clasp broke, a while ago, and i guess it- it fell off, or something... if it was anything more than a necklace i wouldn't have been able to lose it, would i? " and she laughed, then, a nervous exhale of breath that didn't make much sense for the moment, especially as she continued in a way that she hoped would take the heat off of her, looking to naomi, "i don't understand why you...- what did you mean? 'ending up like gina, and... and blair, and daniel'? it was just a necklace. not a watch that counted down to someone's DEATH."
julian
after letting damaris speak, julian turned to eye the two girls accusing her, relatively ignoring cristianâs comments. he wasnât about to be baited into a fight like that. âsee?â he asked once she was finished, gesturing to damaris with a shrug of his shoulders. âyouâre all freaking out over nothing. she doesnât even have it anymore. can we drop this, now?â
sofia
sofia looked at damaris incredulously. "you had some like, weird necklace from silverwood and you lost it? what the hell?" she didn't mean to harsh, but she couldn't believe that any of them would have been that careless. Â she shot julian a look. "can't ever resist saying i told you so, can you?" she asked. sofia sighed, running a few fingers through her hair and finally dropping herself into an empty chair. "i think we should do the netflix thing. i also think we should look into whatever supernatural shit is going on. even if we don't have a...magic locket or whatever. 'cause it seems like there's gotta be something else here." suddenly, she looked between kimi and julian, her eyebrows furrowed. "did she call you juju?"
kimi
kimberly bit back a noise of frustration. she wanted this conversation to be over with, just as much as she wanted to figure it out. âif she lost it, then thereâs nothing we can do,â she said in an attempt to placate the others. she wasnât sure if she bought that story, but the sooner things died down, the better. she opened her mouth to agree with sofia, only to stop at the girlâs next question. she bit back a challenging, and if i fucking did? and instead gave her a curious look. it wasnât a nickname she used around others often, but it wasnât like no one knew she and julian were close. âyes?â
naomi
"bullshit," naomi can't believe damaris is clearly lying about losing it. "it's cursed, it wouldn't just break. we tried breaking the watch. nothing happened. she dropped it at the party and the next morning it was in the drawer at her dorm. so, again, bull.shit." she knows she shouldn't be getting all argumentative with julian, especially since he knows things that could potentially wreck her image, but the way he's reacting and responding to the situation is pissing her off. "how many people are going to have to die before you realize that saying âthings like drop itâ, âitâs going to be fineâ, and ânothingâs going to happenâ isnât going to work?"
sofia
sofia met kimi's gaze for a long moment."he's not six," she responded with eyeroll. "no matter how much he might be acting like it. i'm with naomi--things aren't gonna fix themselves on their own. we have to start doing."
damaris
panic. it was a feeling that damaris was intimately familiar with, and she knew all of the signs. shaking hands, check. shortness of breath, check. the feeling of impending dread, rising in her chest, making her heart beat at a hummingbird sort of speed - check. the panic, itself, was not unusual. what was was that she had no idea where that feeling came from, or why it was gripping her tight, suddenly. these were her FRIENDS. their line of questioning made sense, and she knew that now was her chance, that she should have pulled out the locket that now felt as if it were burning against her skin and tell them the truth - but she didn't. and instead, when naomi spoke up once again, she went on the defensive - words leaving her before she consciously knew what she was saying. "so, what- you don't believe me, now? after EVERYTHING, i...- i thought that you'd know me enough to know i wouldn't lie, naomi. maybe the watch WAS cursed, but the locket...- the locket wasn't, because it's gone, now, and it's been gone for ages and- i'm glad it is. you're looking for something to blame. at least you can't blame that."
kimi
in the midst of damaris' stuttered speech, kimi's eyes widened, more concerned with sofia's comment than anything else. she blinked once, before her expression evened out. then, she glanced towards julian, giving him a serene smile, soft, secretive, and somehow completely unbothered. there was something unsettling about it, though an outsider would have trouble telling what it was. she turned her ear back to damaris, not so much as bothering to reply to sofia's (childish) insult. though, admittedly, she no longer cared much about what was being said.Â
micah
micah didn't know what to believe. it wasn't like his opinion mattered in the first place, considering he didn't know shit, and didn't exactly care. the truth of the matter was that daniel, blair, and gina were all dead, and no locket or curse or whatever would change that, or make it okay. but he'd never known damaris lennox to lie. it just wasn't like her. faced with the evidence that she wasn't entirely being honest, though, he didn't know where he stood. "damaris, no one wants to blame you. if the locket is cursed, or was, then that's not your fault. but we can't fix shit if you don't let us."
naomi
"and after everything we went through together, you'd think you could at least step up and tell us you have the necklace. unless," she steps closer to damaris, "you have something to hide? if that thing is cursed, you have no idea what it could make you do. maybe it made you kill gina that night. tell me, damaris, where were you before she was found?" naomi is too close to the other girl right now, eyes dark as she glares at her, "you had that big fight with blair and a week later she and daniel are dead. did that thing get you to hurt them, huh?" she shoves her lightly, taking a few steps forward as damaris did backward, "answer me, damaris. did you kill them? did you murder our friends? is that why you're hiding the fucking locket?"
julian
it was kimiâs kind stare that signaled the end to julianâs efforts. the argument didnât seem to be focused on him anymore, and he as smart enough to know that heâd lost what little control he had over the group. he kept his mouth shut, looking back and forth between damaris and the rest of them all.
zach
though the situation was growing more intense by the second, zach didnât have a physical reaction until naomi had left his side. âhey...â he had tried once as a whisper to her, attempting to bring her back, away from the other girl. it didnât do anything. naomi was fueled on fire. luckily, it didnât dacre zachary in the slightest. he stood up as she shoved damaris, hooking a hand onto the girlâs shoulder. ânaomi,â he said in a stern voice, more strength in it than his much weaker previous attempt, âstop.â
damaris
"fix what, micah? like i said, it wasn't cursed. it was an ugly antique locket that was too heavy for its clasp and its GONE, now, so i don't get why we're still on this topic," she didn't mean to snap. the words tumbled out accompanied by a narrow eyed look his way before she really knew what she was doing, and then before she could rethink, maybe reach an apology, the scene was playing once again. naomi was suddenly a few steps closer than she'd been seconds before and her loud mouth was getting in the way, as always, and - and she wasn't sure where that thought had come from, either. "you- you don't seriously think that it was me? that i hurt gina-" she couldn't even finish the thought. naomi flew on and her words drowned everything outside of what had become their bubble OUT, washing away the panic of before. quick as it had come, it was gone, again... and in its place was another feeling she couldn't explain. anger. white hot anger, that only burned more the closer that naomi got, and that she knew wasn't RIGHT. she should have been feeling a lot of things right then, especially when she was stood being accused of murder - but not that.feeling attacked would have been fair. having the urge to wrap her hands around her skinny little throat and squeeze until they met in the middle, certainly wasn't. naomi pushed and damaris stumbled and when she caught her footing she surged back towards her again on instinct, lip curled - and it was lucky that zachary had appeared over her shoulder, gripping it tight, because without him there right then, damaris wasn't sure what she might have done. "listen to zachary and back the fuck up," she spat, words full of venom, "- i promise you, naomi, if you ever touch me again i'll-" i'll, i'll, i'll.... she didn't know how to end that... and if she did, she was only affirming that something was horribly wrong. she needed to breathe. she needed to think. she needed to sound like herself - and not question why that was so hard, right then and there - when she finally spoke up, again. "i would never have hurt any of them- if you don't realize that, that's on YOU, but i'm not going to stand here defending myself for murders i didn't commit, and i...- i certainly don't owe you an explanation for halloween."
nate
nate wasn't particularly interested in the mysterybusters reunion playing out infant of him. Heâd glance up everyone and a while, the the sound of accusatory voices filtering through his ears, before returning his gaze to his phone. âyou sure you kids donât wanna save this shit for the show?â he asked. no emotion in his voice or registering on his face . âbecause itâs dramatic as hell and would probably get you some pretty solid ratings.â flipping to the next page on his mobile kindle app, nathan peaked up, shrugging his shoulders gently. âiâm just saying.â
naomi
"don't", she shrugged zach off and returned her attention to damaris, "you'll what? finish the sentence." everything the other girl was saying only strengthened naomi's belief that something was wrong with damaris. "whatever damaris. but if anyone else on this team gets hurt, just know it's all on you."
vanessa
"so, uh, hey everyone! if it matters- it probably does, but, who am i to say since you're all obviously going through a lot right now and stuff that SHOULD matter probably doesn't as much as stuff that doesn't REALLY matter, right now-" why had ANYONE let her speak for that long? vanessa was so used to getting cut off mid sentence, she'd expected it- cutting herself off when it seemed no one was about to, she looked all around the room and sucked in a huge, dramatic breath, before rounding back to her actual point, "-anyways... not that i'm, like, ATTACKING her or anything- please remember if an unknown demon in your head takes over, mar, that i wasn't the one who shoved you- but...- well. ok. so. there's been this weird vibe around damaris. for a while, now, actually, but...- its gotten worse since halloween."
naomi
naomi lets out a dry laugh, rolling her eyes and returning to her seat, pushing past damaris and zach. she didn't need to say anything else, vanessa had basically just said enough to confirm everything she had been thinking over since lana brought this issue up.
verena
verenaâs brow dipped into a frown as she watched everyone point fingers and accusations at one another. she couldnât say it wasnât surprising. everyoneâs emotions were on edge and to blame others made things easier. âokay, can we all just chill out for a second?â vee raised her voice a touch to grab everyoneâs attention. âitâs obvious we have a lot of things to figure out. within the group and out.â she took a breath, her gaze moving across the room. âthis isnât constructiveâ in fact itâs just the opposite. i know a lot of us have shit we need to deal with and work through, but calling each other out when we should be coming together as a group is doing a lot more damage than good.â
damaris
"shut up, nathan," she shot his way darkly, her words becoming the only acknowledgment that he'd said anything at all because naomi - like always - didn't know when to do the same. "like i said. i don't owe you anything." even an end to the sentence. she knew what she wanted. she had known, from the minute the other had shoved into her. damaris wanted to make naomi HURT. so much, she'd be begging for release. she could never say it. she couldn't even admit it to herself, really - but she knew, deep down, the thoughts that had crossed her mind when naomi had tried it, and knew even more that those kind of thoughts weren't right. none of this was RIGHT, but... gods. it was too late to stop what was already in motion - and she didn't even stand a chance at controlling her own tongue. "yeah. sure, vee- let's chill out," turning to face her, she crossed her arms over her chest and proclaimed, loudly, "but i wouldn't call vanessa talking shit about 'bad vibes' or naomi standing there and accusing me of triple homicide as something to 'deal with and work through'."
zach
though still upset that damaris had the nerve to use his full name ( zachary was such a mood killer ), zach rolled his eyes and sat back down along with naomi, waiting to spring up once more if the bitch tried to throw hands again.Â
julian
with his head now in his hands, julian let out a slight groan, running his hand down his face. âdamaris,â he said, bringing his head up to look at the girl, âhow come you even had that locket in the first place?â in effort to steer the conversation away from violence and murder and accusations, julian calmly asked the girl a question that had been on his mind ever since the object was brought into conversation.
verena
verena tried her best not to let damarisâ obnoxious words get to her. not wanting to fuel the fire of what had quickly become one of the worst âmeetingsâ to date. her eyes narrowed on maris, searching for any sign of this locket. ready to cross the room, snatch it off, and end this cursed necklace issue. âjust show us the damn necklace damaris.â Â snapping at the other for a moment. frustrated with the whole situation and ready to be done with it, vee took a breath. âif you have nothing to hide then it shouldnât be a problem.â her gaze moved to julian after failing to find the locket and to keep herself together, glad he was staying calm and neutral in terms of choosing a side.
damaris
"what?" it was julian's turn, now, and it didn't matter how calmly he spoke - damaris wasn't working from a place of reason. maybe more accurately, she wasn't working from her own place of reason, anymore. "is everyone forgetting that we all brought things back from silverwood? the basement is FULL of that crap. i didn't know that i had it until after we got back, so...-" her mind raced. she'd never had to think of a way to explain, and no excuses were presenting themselves to her, "so i didn't leave it with the rest of the stuff, and instead- i put a picture of me and my dad in it. god forbid, i used it for its intended purpose!" a small part of her thought that maybe, just maybe- it was a good thing, after all, that she had someone else there to lend a hand. "vee- like i've been saying this whole damn time, it's gone, now. see?" pulling her turtleneck down just enough to loop a finger around the SECOND chain around her neck, damaris pulled that out, leaving the locket safe in its spot out of sight, mental note already made to find another way to keep it near, "its a necklace cris got me. i'd tell you its not cursed, but who knows? maybe something WAS up with it, and that, in a roundabout way, is why he fucked ashley. you wanna get vanessa to hold it and make sure?"
lana
she'd been standing idly by for too long now. there were times that she wanted to speak up, but it was all pointless until now. âdamaris," she took a step towards her. the rude approach wasn't going to do the job, neither was playing nice. lana was overwhelmingly annoyed with all of damarisâ attempts at dodging the obvious fact that she had the damn locket. âoh my god already,â she pushed herself off the desk she was leaning up against and calmly walked up to the girl who everyoneâs eyes were on. lana's fingers found their way to damaris' neck and when she felt that second chain, she pulled it right off like she'd done it a million times. it was the locket. not even bothering to say anything else, lana turned away from damaris. she didn't want to hold onto it for longer than she needed to, so she dropped it into naomi's hands.
julian
hearing the stress in verena's voice, julian didn't hesitate to put a hand on her back, the most simple gesture he could give to calm the girl down the slighest. his focus was broken when lana began to close the distance to damaris, his eyes instantly widening. naomi going after her was one thingâlana advancing to damaris actually worried him. "lanaâ" before anything else left his mouth, he heard the audiable metal snap. his eyes stayed wide as he saw the little chain beind handed off to naomi, heart pounding just a bit faster, one factor causing the majority of his anxiety. "why'd you lie?" it was directed at damaris, of course, his voice was dry, but not laking in strength or volume, the dark feeling of betrayal making his blood boil.
damaris (sabrina)
fight or flight. it's a natural physiological response to a threat against survival - however, it varies, species to species. prey animals typically run from perceived dangers. this is the way in which they know they stand the greatest chance of survival. predators, on the other hand, have teeth and claws and strength and everything about them is built for survival in a way that prey animals could never know. they do the opposite - standing, and fighting their ground instad of fleeing. this does not give great survival odds, like flight just might - but in the same way those farther down the food chain are hardwired to turn and scatter, an animal at the top is hardwired to not to. sabrina did not have teeth or claws or physical strength. she was bound to the fading silver locket that that stupid girl wore around her neck - and when that locket, the only item left she could cling to, was THREATENED... like anyone at the top of a food chain, she had fought as well as she could to ensure its continued survival. she'd known it was a losing battle, even before lana had started to move forwards. but when she did - when she did - there was only one thing left to do, and it meant swallowing her pride and letting go, in favor of flight.
the clasp snapped and the locket gave way, dropped into naomi's hand moments later, where the chain pooled around the silver heart she'd called a home, of sorts, and were sabrina awoke once again to see it resting. full control took only the blink of an eye, to achieve. the lennox girl had always been more prey, than predator. blinking, rapidly, trying to grow accustomed to what was rapidly becoming a too familiar body while not raising suspicions of those she was around, she looked to julian in confusion, momentarily forgetting the topic they had been on. there'd been so much to think about, you see - so much more, than necklaces and deceit. but that confusion was good. when she worked out how best to move forward, it really worked for her. after all - everyone loves an innocent lamb, saved from the brink of slaughter. "i...- lie?" brow furrowing as if she really was struggling to remember, sabrina tried not to overdue it, letting her features slacken in horrified realization- "i- i don't know. i couldn't stop myself."
naomi
the second lana got up, naomi knew what was going to go down. she effortlessly managed to take the object from damaris and naomi just looked at everyone at the group, oprah shrugging them, as if to say i told you so. however, the second it landed in her hand, she quickly placed it on the table, not wanting to have it in her possession any longer. naomi wanted to speak up and say something but decided not to, seeing as she was the reason why everything was so tense.
lana
"oh, you couldn't stop yourself?" she repeated damaris' excuse with a hint of sarcasm this time. "well, you made everyone else look stupid and now they finally know how ashley feels everyday."
julian
âlana,â julian scolded with a warning, shaking his head. âyou made your damn point-you got what you wanted.â he looked over at the necklace, a sour taste in his mouth. ânow what, naomi?â seeing as she was the one influencing the tides of their conversation, he opened it up to her, eyeing the jewelry on the table. âare we breaking it? burying it? is that even the actual one?â
naomi
naomi knows it's wrong but she can't help but let out a small snort at lana's small dig at ashley. "it is the necklace. trust me. we have to return it to where it came from. or who it came from." that's as much naomi knew, she wasn't sure if lana held more knowledge about the subject. "which means we have to go back to sabrina's grave. can anyone guess where that is?" her attention is now drawn to damaris again, "and by anyone i mean damaris. since you happen to be sabrina's biggest fan."
damaris (sabrina)
what she wouldn't have given for it to be halloween night again - maybe instead of gina, she could have given a faux friendly smile and asked lana for girly advice. she would have had a hard time answering back six feet under thanks to a gaping throat slash - and with a side glance naomi's way, sabrina thought it wouldn't have been so bad if it had been her, either. neither were doing that great of a job at curbing her impulse to shut them up, permanently, group be damned, but... luckily enough for them, sabrina could stop herself. she had a role to play - and it'd never been more important for her to keep in character. "you don't get it," she all but stage whispered, doe eyed and apparently so very hurt by lana's tone, "i knew what i was saying, but...- i couldn't stop saying it. i wanted to say i had the locket, right here, but i couldn't. it..." she never planned on finishing that sentence. instead, she shuddered and sent her best scared look her locket's way. trying not to roll her eyes when naomi was called upon - why the arguably most intelligent man there decided naomi had the answers they needed was beyond her - she instead looked away, a decision that proved quite smart when she had to hide actual SURPRISE that the mouthy girl knew something. that was smart. sabrina would have argued that it was too smart, for her, but...- maybe there'd been some underestimation on her part. "why would you- i don't know that, naomi. it's not like she's given me coordinates, or something, i don't- i can't even remember if i found that researching her," an oversight. she'd need to find the original research conducted by the lennox girl, and make sure she hadn't.
kimi
âum,â kimberly spoke, for the first time since she decided sofia would be the next to die. âi... really donât want to be the one to say this, but... wouldnât it make sense for it to have come from silverwood?â she saw micah still, and knew that the words werenât what he, or anyone, wanted to hear, but someone had to say it. she couldnât have been the only one thinking it. âat least... thereâd be answers there?â
zach
zachary let out a sarcastic, cynic laugh. "what better way to start off a new show than return to the place that almost killed you guys. smart." he let out a huff, crossing his arms over his chest.
sofia
"wait, we'd actually go to silverwood? like for real?" sofia couldn't keep the excitement out of her voice. she glared at zach. "shut the fuck up, zach." this was their chance to do some real investigating.
julian
"do i have to say this? am i really theâno, absolutely not. hell no." julian looked around the room, mainly the members of the team who had already endoured the hell of silverwood, hand gestures flying out without any meaning. "no, we're not going back there. no, we're not investigating there againâare youâwhat? no!" it was as if his brain finally blew that last gasket.
kimi
kimi sighed. âi wasnât saying letâs go back there. i was pointing out that thatâs probably where the necklace came from.â
verena
vee could feel her chest restrict with panic as she thought about stepping foot in that town again. the moment theyâd left only months before, sheâd found peace in the fact that sheâd never have to return. but now that itâs being talked about seriously, she didnât quite know how to handle it. the only thing she knew for sure was that if going back would help them end this, she was down. â noâ no, you're right. we need to go back⊠if there is even the slightest chance we can finish this, we have to go while we still can. â
lana
"okay, now julian is the poster boy for safety ," she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. "i'm with verena on this, but going to silverwood isn't even the whole problem. we still have the watch .. that belongs to mayer. which means we have to find him so that we can return it, too."
sofia
"maybe we lure him there," sofia was getting really jazzed up now. "like...like--okay, hear me out. we publicize us going back. make it a big thing. like patientsproject part two, right?" she was talking animatedly with her hands. "he sees it, he goes there to find us, we deal with the watch and the necklace at the same time. two birds, one stone."
naomi
returning to silverwood, seeing mayer again, naomi feels like she's trapped in her personal purgatory. "you guys can go back. i refuse to go. obviously you forgot what happened to us there." she looks at the original six ( no longer eight ) as if asking what the hell was wrong with them.
ashley
ashley hadn't said anything for a while now, not having much to offer, but the thought of trying to lure mayer anywhere was a little too much for her. "why don't we, like, wait for the police to catch mayer and then return the watch or whatever. like, after he's locked up."
micah
âno.â micah hated sounding like that. hated sounding scared; he never did before. but he didnât survive all this shit just to go back. he still had nightmares. âwe canâtâfuck.â he stopped, taking a breath as he got over it. it was whatever, but he couldnât be here anymore. not with panic rising in him, curling around his throat the way it was. â...naomi, iâm gonna head home.â
julian
"you all realize that ashley is the one making the most sense right now, right? do you understand that?" his voice was loud. looks of betrayal were thrown to sofia, and lighter, towards vee, before standing up from his seat and pointing to micah. "no, you're staying, you're on the right sideâsit your ass down, i need you on this."
naomi
"you guys don't know what you're in for. you can't go back." naomi shakes her head and looks over at micah. she can't believe they're even considering going back there. "we have to think of another way to return the items."
zach
though on the same side as naomi, zach couldn't help the chance to lighten the mood. "you mean⊠amazon prime them back to silverwood?" he asked, though joking, still curious as to what she had in mind.
micah
âshut up, zach,â micah snapped, though he knew the other was only trying to help. he didnât want to be here. he could barely breathe, because this was the kind of conversation theyâd been avoiding for a year. he still felt that same panic creeping up on him, his breath quickenig as his chest tightened. the room felt too small, where the fuck is cristian? he left us, and everything felt weird, felt bad. he tried to push the feeling down, because this was the worst place for a panic attack, but it felt hard. âno one is going back there. we almost died the first time, why the fuck would we go back?â the words felt strained, sounded weird even to him, but he powered through them anyway, because it needed to be said.
lana
"because," not even a second could pass before she shot back, "if we don't go there, we'll die here."  considering the terrible events that just happened, it was true. she didn't sound scared as much as she did convinced. but lana genuinely feared that silverwood had followed the group back here to seattle and  if they didn't do anything soon, they'd lose more members of the group.
micah
âfuck you,â he spat. he knew she wasnât wrong, but that didnât make it any easier to swallow. we canât go back. âyou go back then. if you somehow think going back is going to save us â you go. but i didnât survive my fucking dad just to go back and get killed in the place we were already running from.â
naomi
this all escalated too quickly for naomi. "micah, calm down." she stands from her seat besides zach and goes to where her roommate was, placing a hand softly on his back to at least get him to take a few deep breaths. "you guys... just please consider the danger you're going to put yourselves in if you go back. for one, i know the cops fenced the hell out of the place. it's hard to get into. secondly, we're much safer here than we are in a town filled with angry spirits. trust me." she cringes slightly at her words, thinking about blair and daniel and how much she was sounding like julian right now.
julian
"we don't need worry about any of that, because we're not going." if there had been any surface in front of him to pound a fist against, julian would have done it, just for the added emphasis. "sof, you're literally talking about baiting a maniac, andâcome on, lana, you didn't watch the damn movie! you don't even know what they went through, and now you're trying to get us all over there? stop being so damn ignorant and think about your friends for a second!" all of the frustration and anger julian had was building off of itself, but he was too zoned in to notice.
sofia
"what? do you have a better idea, julian?" sofia asked, rising out of her seat to face off with her cousin. Â she was bordering on yelling now, her shoulders tense. "one that doesn't involve sitting on our asses and waiting for something to happen? i'm with lana--if there's anything we've learned recently, it's that we're not safe anywhere! i'd rather go to silverwood than be a sitting duck, or have to hear you say another word about safety!"
lana
lana didn't care about micah cursing at her but the last part made her rethink any type of comeback. "what?" she asked, slightly in shock, but her voice was too low that it was drowned out by julian's current rampage. thankfully, sofia was already speaking for her. she was too busy putting two and two together to think of something to say anyway. her attention slowly moved from micah and naomi to sofia, "exactly and i'm going whether the rest of you guys go or not. i'm sorry, i just can't wait around for another bad thing to happen."
kimi
âi donât think we should decide right now,â kimi suggested, throwing a startled look towards micah. she knew what happened; sheâd read the news, but that didnât make it any less shocking to hear. she looked back to the others. ânot all of us are in the best headspace. we canât make this decision when weâre like this.â
julian
julian was thankful that one of his friends seemed to have their head screwed on straight, even if he, arguably, didn't. "lana," after taking a deep breath, julian tried one last time to reach the girl from a rational angle, "you're an idiot if you think you know him well enough to do this." he spoke to the ground, unable to look at the girl directly. "i'm not going to any more funerals any time soon."
lana
she chose to ignore julian's comment, keeping her calm on the outside even though she was wanting to kill him on the inside. "well, it's a good thing you're not going to be invited to my funeral, anyway," lana turned her back to julian and faced everyone else, "so, who is coming with me?"
cristianâs birthday » event.
we forgot to post it so here it is!
kimi
kimberly didnât want to be here. while she was fully in support of celebrating the birth of a god, she knew the chances of spending any time alone with him were slim to none. she watched as the mysterybusters tolerated each other, leaning against the wall with her phone in hand. she was considering faking an excuse to leave, but the idea of leaving without saying anything to cristian was too much. but she couldnât talk to him directly. struck with an idea, she pushed off of the wall. âhey, guys,â she called, loud enough to get their attention. âwhoâs up for a game?â
isaiah
isaiah had been talking to ashley, when of course kimi interrupted, by calling out about wanting to play a game. isaiah couldnât help but already get a bad feeling about said game, whatever it may be. he still didnt feel entirely right about being at a party since gina, and he honestly didnât care about cristian or his birthday (in fact, he couldnt think of something worse to celebrate). but ashley had wanted to come, so of course⊠isaiah had too. isaiah took  a sip from his bottle of beer, glancing around. âwhat kinda game? you sound like the guy from saw when you say that.â
blair (rip!)
âiâm sorry i didnât know we were all in middle school,â blair speaks up from her spot in the room, Â eyeing everyone. she didnât want to be here, celebrating the birthday of her best friendâs ex who, by the way, had cheated on her. it felt wrong but blair hated being left out of things and damaris was here too so that made it more tolerable.
julian
truthfully, the only reason julian tagged along with kimi was to make sure she didnât end up sleeping with the birthday boy by the end of the night. he sat with a half-empty beer bottle, waiting for someone to pick a game. âspin the bottle is not happening.â
bryce
âbut spin the bottle would be so fun!â bryce replied, his words slurred as he finished off his beer- tossing the can over his shoulder. lately he had been drinking more than usual but he didnât care- it was relaxing.
vanessa
âwe have enough drama without whatever spin the bottle would bring.â vanessa deadpanned, eyeing everyone in the group and lingering a little on bryce with a degree of exasperation, not quite able to believe her ears. like they needed THAT on top of everything else. on the other hand⊠âwe could break out the ouija board,â was her suggestion, said with a small shrug as she sat back in her chair, âsee if anyone wants to give some birthday wishes from the other side.â
sofia
sofia took a sip of her beer. she was happy to be at crisitianâs party, even if some of the other were not. she grinned when vanessa mentioned the ouija board, nodding. âouija board? iâm totally down.â
daniel (rip!)
âabsolutely not,â daniel said immediately, before the rest of the group got too behind the idea. it was the weekend; it was a party, they needed one night where they were just normal kids without all of the ghost bullshit. âno ouija board. what game do you guys wanna play?â
isaiah
isaiah held up his hands. âno. no. no board.â he said, exasperated, as he so often was whenever vanessa spoke. âi hate to agree with daniel. â in fact, he hated daniel in general
bryce
reaching for a new beer can, bryce began to chant ouija board over and over again- not really stopping to think that, he wouldnât enjoy that.
naomi
âyeah, no board. thatâs why weird shit always happens to usâ we fuck with the dead too much.â naomi commented, as if her opinion mattered. âletâs just play something dumb like truth or dare⊠or pictionary! better yet, let the birthday boy choose.â
cristian
âuh, yeah, thatâs a big no,â cristian exclaimed, following along with the othersâ protests, before he sipped the drink in his hand. he had been trying for so long to fight the demon on his back,  using a ouija board at his birthday party would just be asking for it. could he just have a day where it wasnât brought up ? upon hearing naomiâs suggestion, cristian shrugged. âi donât really care. just something that doesnât get in the way of me drinking.â his focus went back to the drink in his hand, but their blank stares egged him on, forcing him to speak up again a bit reluctantly. âor  . . truth or dare, i guess? that sounds as good as anything.â he shrugged again, nonchalantly.
naomi
âtruth or dare it is! who goes first?â naomi looks around at the group, raising her eyebrows. âthatâs how it goes, right? i havenât played this game in so long i literally forgot how to play it. well not forgot but just very iffy on how itâs supposed to be played.â this was the first time since the halloween party since naomi had been excited to have some real, non-threatning fun. no ghosts or demons, just her and her friends.
bryce
âi want to go first!â bryce cried as soon as he heard that theyâd settled on truth or dare, nearly falling off of the couch in the process. he loved truth or dare- or well, he loved games.
isaiah
isaiah pinched the bridge of his nose, taking another long drag of his beer before deciding to just go with this inevitable disaster for now. he glanced over to where damaris was, and patted the spot next to him, for her to come sit. âi havenât played truth or dare in like 80 years.â
blair
blair takes damarisâ hand and drags her to where everyone else is, sitting on the other side of her brother. âyou ask someone truth or dare, if they answer truth then you ask them a question and if they answer with dare then you dare them to do something. not that hard⊠idiots,â she mumbles the last part, âso okay, iâll ask bryce. truth or dare?â
bryce
âoh oh oh,â bryce responded, his eyes lighting up in excitement as he looked at naomi. he was so excited that was getting to start- this was just amazing, his dream come true. âuh- dare! wait no truth,â he responded, âwait no dare! okay thatâs my final answer!â
damaris
damaris didnât really care what they did, or where she was, so long as they could have just One quiet night. getting pulled around by blair was all well and good provided that it was done in a calm environment, though she was considerably happier when she was able to sit in place beside isaiah - best friend one side and about the only person in the group she felt happy and safe around, at this point, on the other. she watched bryce try choose with only vague interest, murmuring to isaiah as he struggled, âto think we coulda been finishing brooklyn 99 instead of being here.â
blair
âi dare you to⊠not say anything for the next three rounds. vanessa and naomi are already here, we donât need another chatterbox in the group.â blair flashes him a fake smile, âwhoâs next?â
sofia
âoh, thatâs such a lame dare!â sofia protested, Â shooting blair a look. âtruth or dare is already less exciting than the ouija board, donât make it stupid.â
bryce
a frown spread across bryceâs face as he heard blairâs comment, âb-but,â he stammered as he slowly sunk back on the couch, his arms folded across his chest. this sucked. blair was mean.
isaiah
isaiah couldnât help barking out a small laugh at blairs âdareâ. âalright. anyways. moving on.â isaiah said, wondering how he always ended up being the one moderating this. âsomebody ask blair, or whatever. im getting another drink. anyone want one?â
alex
alex said plainly next to sofia, a smile resting lightly on her face, for once in her life content to be quiet â half out of general distaste on being called on. âcariña, chill out, itâs not⊠that bad,â she told her friend. âi mean, truth or dare? not good. but not⊠that bad.â
naomi
naomi wasnât even phased by her comment, âiâ okay go off i guessâŠâ she shoots bryce a sympathetic smile, looking at isaiah. âiâd like one if you donât mind!â
julian
âyes,â julian called out, taking isaiah up on his offer. he hadnât finished his, but worked quickly, chugging the last of it down. âbryce canât even ask the next person,â he laughed, realizing that the game was now stopped. âwhoâs next?â
damaris
âdo you want a hand?â damaris asked after two people had piled onto his offer, taking any opportunity to exit the game she didnât have much desire to take part in.
isaiah
isaiah nodded, pointing to naomi and julian to show heâd get their drinks before looking at damaris. she definitely looked like she needed a drink. âiâll get you one too.â he said, already shuffling off to the kitchen to see what he could grab up. he looked back as damaris called out, and hesitated, before realising she probably just wanted out. âuh yeah, sure. i canât carry all these drinks myself.â he lied, with a nod.
sofia
sofia made a face and took another sip of her drink.  "stillâyou know what? tonightâs for cristian. this is what he wanted.â there was something about alexâs use of cariña that made her heart melt a little, but she ignored that feeling for now. "iâll go next. somebody ask me?â
blair
blair smirked at everyoneâs reactions and leaned back on her hands, waiting for someone to go. âokay! uh⊠truth or dare sof?â naomi spoke up, hoping to lighten the mood after the rude dare blair had given bryce.
damaris
âdonât want you spilling any!â she was already up and off her feet, stepping carefully around everyone else to join him in the search for more drinks, and more than happy to have even the briefest of escapes. âyou as big a fan of the game as i am?â she asked him with a smile as she joined him in the kitchen, naomiâs voice carrying through from the other room. the sarcasm to it was obvious.
sofia
âdare,â sofia replied, leaning towards naomi expectantly, smiling. âalways dare.â
naomi
âhmâŠâ naomi tried to think of something good before an idea popped into her head. âi dare you to prank call nathan and act like youâre asking for a booty call.â she clapped her hands together excitedly, proud of herself for thinking that up.
isaiah
isaiah chuckled at damarisâ clear sarcasm. âyeah, i mean ⊠if it makes the others happy, i guess we can both mutually suffer.â he nudged her gently. âplus side is, if weâre gone long enough i doubt anyone will even notice. i doubt we were prime truth or darers anyways.â he joked. he glanced around the kitchen before finding a stray bottle of vodka. âhere, let me make you a cocktail. itâll be good. promise.â
sofia
sofia laughed. âeasy.â she pulled her phone out of her pocket, flipping through it for a moment to search for nathanâs number. âletâs seeâŠah, got it!â  she put it up to her ear, finishing off the end of the beer as it rang on the other line. ânathan?  itâs me, sofia. i was feeling really lonely, and i started thinking about you, and how guys in sweaters are just super sexy. and i know i complain about you telling me what to do all the time, but i can think of one place where iâd be happy to let youâŠcall me back.â
julian
julian sat with his head in his hands, really hoping that isaiah would be coming back with another beer soon. or a gun.
damaris
âso long as my suffering doesnât become me having to do one of blairâs dares⊠or truths. theyâre probably just as bad,â she chuckled, softly, her affection for the friend sheâd left sat inside obvious as her distaste for everything, as a whole. âi donât know about you not being a prime candidate for it all, though- at least⊠two of the girls in there, wouldnât mind getting dared to 7 minutes in heaven with you,â she teased, knowing he was a taken fella ( side eyes at verena ), and also knowing the group. if they had eyes, then theyâd thought about isaiah in that way. she grinned and nodded, happily, trusting him totally with whatever it was he was about to make. âiâll get julian and all their not-amazing-and-specially-made-by-isaiah-maxwell drinks, while you do!â
isaiah
isaiah couldnât help grinning, as he so often did, just around damaris. he couldnât help looking at her, even leaning in closer to drop his voice, in faux-flirtatiousness. âwhat about any of the girls in here?â he couldnât help tease, before straightening back up, still grinning. âwell, know that if i get to pick someone for truth or dare- youâre my prime candidate.â he wasnât even joking either, he liked doing dumb stuff to and for damaris. he nodded, chuckling. âgood idea. now what are you in the mood for? something strong, fruity, sweet, orr⊠?â he asked, already grabbing up a few other bottles and inspecting them
nate
Nathan (who was enjoying a glass of wine he got in the clearance basket of Bottle King) was interrupted by the sound of his voicemail inbox pinging. He opened the message, listened, and promptly put his drink down to text the girl back. He had already gone into uncharted territory by going balls deep into Ash, he certainly was not going to try and frickle frack Julianâs cousin.
sofia
sofia blinked in surprise as his quick response. "oh my god,â she said, tilting her phone screen to show alex what nathan had said. she wasnât that worried about it. who cares what the babysitter thought of her? she sent him a text back and she laughed, shaking her head. âheâs not gonna be able to look me in the eye on monday. amazingâokay, whoâs next?â
damaris
she couldnât even help it- she let out what could only be called a hoot of quiet laughter, struggling to try and sober herself for a play along and a, âoh, iâd definitely be the third girl,â before dissolving into her giggles for a minute. it was absolutely true that sheâd once had a tiny ( maybe not so tiny ) crush on the boy before her, and back when he was a relative stranger, she certainly wouldnât have minded being dared to anything with isaiah - but he was so much MORE to her than just someone nice to look at. heâd maybe become her best friend in the time theyâd been rooming together ( sorry blair ) and that was, as they say, that. âconsider yourself mine too,â she managed, finally, her mood well and truly upped as she moved about the kitchen, making the others some basic drinks, âwhy donât you surprise me? anything isaiah maxwell approved is good by me.â and for once, she really wasnât saying that to be her eager to please, always-willing-to-let-others-take-the-easy-route self - she trusted him, without rhyme nor reason.
naomi
âgood job, sofia. didnât think youâd go through with it.â naomi crosses her legs and rests her head on danielâs shoulder. âyou can ask anyone in the group now.â she answers.
blair
blair glares at naomi and daniel but says nothing, looking away and waiting for someone to hurry up and ask something so they can finish the dumb game.
isaiah
isaiah grinned, even bigger, as he got the desired reaction from damaris. he had to admit - he had fun with the girl. even when they were doing nothing. she was just so easy to talk to. âstop, youâll flatter me. i might even blush, mari.â he said playfully.  "damaris lennox wanting me? wait til the rest of the lacrosse team hears. theyâll lose their shit. .also, blairs truth or dares arent that bad. she .. as a whole actually ⊠i dont know. shes different, kinda.â he shrugged, not knowing how to explain it. "kinda feels like weâre actually family these days instead of two people arguing over a credit card.â he added, as a joke.  isaiah glanced over at damaris once again, before nodding slowly. âsure.â isaiah said, already putting way too much vodka in the drink because he hadnât seen damaris have fun in ages. he even carefully lined the rim of the drink with sugar crystals, to give her the full cocktail experience. âand you gotta drink the whole thing!â he added, hoping she hadnât seen how much vodka heâd put in
daniel
as naomi rested her head on his shoulder, daniel was overcome with a wave of affection, not just for naomi but for the whole team. it made him so happy to see them all getting along (kind of). he wrapped his arms around the girls on either side of him, pulling both naomi and ashley closer. âsof, whoâre you asking?â
sofia
âme? not go through with a dare? who do you think i am?â sofia scanned the group around her, tapping her finger on her chin as she considered her options. Â she raised an eyebrow at daniel, then crossed her arms. âsince you interrupted my thinking, daniel: truth or dare?â
daniel
daniel raised his eyebrows and nodded as sofia spoke. âdare,â he answered, not wanting to risk any questions about him and naomi.
sofia
âalright. dare it is. i dare youâŠâ she trailed off, leaving a dramatic pause. in truth, she was trying to find something to get him to do. âuhâŠtake off your shirt. for the rest of the game. y'know. for science.â
damaris
âno one will ever believe you,â she replied with an easy smile, pausing in the pouring of julianâs drink to look over her shoulder at him, âand if iâm asked, iâll play dumb.â ( writers note: âsheâd watched ashley so much, it wouldnât be hardâ would be included here, if damaris was that Type of Character ). âblairâs not bad. not really,â was her swift response, her need to gas up the other girl at a time where it seemed almost right to, too much. it was nice to hear that they were getting on better - itâd always felt like she was friends with blair and then, separately, friends with her brother, and it wasnât hard to see from either side the divide that had sort of existed there. âiâm glad to hear that,â she said, very genuinely, âi know she cares. about you, i mean- she cares about a lot of people, and things, more than she ever really lets on. itâs good that you two are doing better.â and then, because that was sappy and i, as a writer, shy from anything remotely so, she moved on again. âoof, the whole thing?â she was a little skeptic, of course, but always willing. âi promise i will, soon as weâve got these back to the others- if they havenât forgotten, theyâre probably wondering whatâs taking so long!â
julian
âmaris! beers?!â he needed another before danielâs shirt came off. for sure.
sofia
âooh, bring me one too!â sofia called, waving her empty beer bottle in the air.
alex
alex pointedly looked away from sofia, nope, nope nope, that is NOT my friend she thought at a giggly loop. she also avoided looking at daniel (lest she not be able to look away) as she completely downed the rest of her drink. âdo we have any more wine?!?â she called out towards them.
daniel
âalright, alright,â daniel said with a laugh. removing his arms from the girlsâ shoulders, he used his newly freed hands to pull his shirt off. dropping it in ashleyâs lap, his eyes scanned the room, deciding who to ask. âalex. truth or dare?â
alex
alex slowly dragged her eyes towards him, âyou need jesus,â she murmured to herself. half the idea of not talking was not getting called on, and yet here she was, talking and getting called on. fucking god. â⊠truth. if i MUST, you profound scoundrel.â
daniel
âtruth. truth, truth, truth, truth, truth,â daniel said, tapping his finger tips together mischievously as he considered what he could ask alex. âalright.â his eyes lit up as he decided, shooting her a smile. âare you and sof hooking up?â
isaiah
as more people called out for drinks now, isaiah realised they had been gone for a while. âshit. looks like people are missing us. julian seems to be missing you.â isaiah wiggled his eyebrows. âmaybe you and julian could date. think of that! my two best buds. plus, julians handsome. and sweet.â isaiah couldnt help but always want to set up damaris with ANYONE so long as she stayed away from that demon (cristian). isaiah smiled then, warmly, because as always- damaris was just kind, and always willing to talk to him about anything, any time. âyeah, i agree. i mean.. i know she puts on this .. act. or show. but sheâs not always like that. and its good to be reminded of that sometimes.â isaiah said, âyouâre a really good friend, mari. not just to me.â isaiah poured lemonade now, as well as a splash of orange juice, and cranberry juice. he rummaged for a second, before topping the drink off with an umbrella. âta daaaaa!â he presented the bright red drink to her. âWEâLL BE THERE IN A SEC!â isaiah called out, as he heard more people wonder about the drinks. âokay, howâd you go? find beer and wine and whatnot? gotta keep the people happy, huh?â
alex
alex slapped her hand on her knee, cheeks heating up at an absurdly quick rate and, with all her being, avoiding even thinking about sofia, looking at sofia, or answering that question. âDARE! i mean dare!â she coped out, like the coward her momma raised her to be. âdare!â where was that wine????
blair
âdo you even know how the game works?â blair looks at alex, âyou canât change it once youâve said it. now answer his question.â
sofia
sofiaâs eyes widened, and she felt her face turning pink. she fell uncharacteristically silent. she stared at her empty beer bottle, as if she could will more alcohol into existence.
alex
alex decided to glare at blair firstly, and then turn to daniel. she went with her same flair, and replied evenly, âwouldnât you just love that?â with that, she kissed sofia harshly on the cheek, leaving a dark red stain, before standing, âi have to use the ladies room!â
ashley
âwait!â ashley called out, not picking up on the awkward tension. âbefore you pee, ask someone else.â
alex
she, quite commonly, stomped her foot - way for ash to ruin a dramatic exit. âuh, you, go, my young padawan. t or d?â with that she continued her way out.
damaris
âhis drink. heâs missing his drink,â she corrected, very, very quick to respond to isaiahâs matchmaking ( which was sweet, but very much unneccessory - in a way that was  a very 'reality star after her 5th breakup of the year, in februaryâ way, she had long since resigned herself to a period of lonesomeness in aid of 'finding herselfâ, and it was going very well, sheâd have you know ), âi think julian has eyes on someone else, 'zay. but he is very sweet, and definitely the top notch kinda guy iâll look for some time in the future.â they were having such a wholesome moment, it was very easy forget that theyâd left the main party for a REASON, and everyone elses shouts really put a damper on the wholesomeness. maris smiled back at him, kindly, taking the compliment that she was sure she didnât deserve ( she hadnât been a great friend of late to ANYONE, but it was nice he thought so ), maris very gratefully took her own drink from him with a 'thank you, isaiah. for everything! not just the drink.â another smile ( because as a writer, i feel i havenât yet exhausted my 'she smiledââs), and grabbed what she could for the others that were yelling. âyou grab that wine-â she nodded her head towards the bottle on the top, âand iâll bring the beers-â they were already in her arms, and she finally made her way back through the door, handing off the nearest one to whoever it was close by.
ashley
âdare.â ashley answered, before leaning over to daniel. âwhatâs a padawan? should i be offended?â she whispered.
sofia
sofia stood statue-still, watching alex as she stood up with wide eyes. if this were a cartoon, she probably would have little hearts flying around her head. she un-froze, reaching up and touching her cheek lightly before clearing her throat. she made a point to not look at julian. or anyone else. âISAIAH. BEER. PLEASE.â
bryce
Bryce had honestly lost track of how many rounds it had been- but he was still silent, instead choosing to spend his time throwing things at Micah.
naomi
âitâs something from star wars, i think.â naomi hears ashleyâs question and decides to answer before daniel does, âi donât know. nerd shit.â
micah
micah swatted the object from the air, sticking his tongue out at bryce. he wasnât paying attention to anyone here, but he was very focused on not being hit.Â
kimi
âitâs from star wars,â kimi supplied, watching the two idiots, with her most pleasant voice. was it time for her to go yet? âactually, um, i think i left something in my car, is it cool if i step out to get it?â and never come back?
ashley
âooooooooh,â ashley nodded, drawing out the word in exaggerated understanding. âi hope itâs not that ugly bear guy.â shrugging it off, she turned back to the rest of the group. âsomeone dare me.â alex had left, and ashley was too impatient to let the game stall.
cristian
cristian continues drinking, not keeping track of how much, already starting to feel a bit tipsy as he listened on with a curious brow., things getting a bit interesting.
isaiah
it had been hard of late, for isaiah to talk to damaris. sheâd been distant, or just unaviailable since the halloween party. isaiah hadnât felt like they were them for a while. until now. âjulian has his eyes on someone?â isaiah couldnât help repeating, surprised. julian hadnât ever said anything to him. âyou know.. i have a few guys on the lacrosse team. just say the word and you know theyâd line up for you. court you even. itâd be like an episode of the bachelorette.â isaiah paused. ânot that i watch that.â he added. fake bitch. he smiled, pleased when damaris took the drink. sofia joining in the yelling now. with a small sigh, he turned back, walking with damaris into the room. ( enter gif from community of troy entering with pizza and the place is on fire). âwhat the⊠whereâd danielâs shirt go? whereâs alex?â he handed the drinks off to julian and sofia and naomi and whoever tf else wanted one. âyou guys are all so damn impatient.â he said, with a shake of his head, sitting back down with them though.
julian
happily taking the next beer, julian popped it open, taking a good swig before pointing to ashley. âi dare you to watch a single star wars movie. once in your life,â he said, jokingly, laughing.
sofia
sofia opened her drink up and took a sip as quickly as she could, then headed over and sat next to cristian. there was still a giant lipstick stain on her face. âfuck this game, man,â she mumbled. she looked over at him, leaning forward and resting her chin in her hand. âare you having fun? itâs your party, after all.â
ashley
âi canât do that,â ashley shook her head. âthey look bad. okay, who hasnât gone yet?â Â her eyes settled on the person that had dared her. âjulian! truth or dare?â
isaiah
isaiahâs eyebrows raised, unsure as to why they asked julian how he felt about verena. this game was making less and less sense to him. âjulian, do you ever pick dare?â isaiah couldnt help asking, genuinely curious.
sofia
âah, well,â sofia replied with a shrug. âthereâs always next year. and the year after that. and the year after that. and the year afterâŠwell, y'know.â she hit him softly with the back of her hand, trying in vain to rub the lipstick mark off of her cheek. despite her efforts, she just ended up with a big red mark. âshut up. probably more action than youâve gotten lately.â she turned to the room, and yelled: âjulian never picks dare 'cause heâs a wuss!â
julian
âi pickââ interrupted by sofia, julian frowned. âi do too pick dare! sober julian picks dare. after three beers, julian picks truth.â he raised his beer, taking another swig.
cristian
âthe best reporter on the team ?â cristian mocked, glancing at julian with a confused look, finding his answer uninteresting, âweak. we all know you want to bone her, man. just admit it.â he rolled his eyes slightly, shrugging. then, as sofia hit him with the back of her hand, cristian let out a light laugh, which only continued as she tried to wipe the red off her cheek. â more action than me ? please, â he poked back smugly, shaking his head.
isaiah
âwait what?â isaiahâs voice was loud, cutting across every other conversation as he looked over at julian and nobody else. âwhat?â he repeated, and he felt this awful, awful swooping sensation in his stomach. âyou⊠and vee?â isaiah wasnât sure if it was just cristian being cristian, or if it was true- but isaiah felt terrible suddenly. mainly because he hadnât thought about vee once that entire night, but also because he truly had never known anything about julian and verena. other then that .. isaiah had to admit he didnât actually feel ⊠anything, except for surprise.
blair
âyeah⊠vee your girlfriend. c'mon 'saiah, she and julian have been all heart eyes over each other for months.â blair figured her already knew that but alas.
isaiah
isaiah was nonplussed, âwhy didnât anyone tell me ?â he couldnât help ask finally, still looking at julian for confirmation. ây'all just let me date my best broâs crush? thatâs so uncool of me.â
sofia
âcristianâŠâ sofia said, a warning tone creeping into her voice. she didnât often find herself in this situation. still, sheâd had enough to drink that she couldnât quite verbalize what she wanted to say. âwait julian, is that true?â she just looked between her cousin and her friend a few times. she scoffed at cristianâs comment. âdefinitely more action than you. what can i say? the ladies love me.â she was starting to calm down, brush the kiss on the cheek off as a bit. something to tell daniel off. alex didnât really like her like thatâŠdid she?
julian
âi donât want toâno, heyââ julians voice was drowned out by all the other comments being thrown around. he put his beer to the side, sinking into his seat more, trying to avoid isaiahâs eyes. âheâs just talking shit,â julian said, refering to cristianâs unwanted comment.
bryce
bryce perked up at the sound of his friendâs name, eagerly looking around for her. once he realized that she wasnt there, he sunk back into the couch, as he took a sip of his beer.
isaiah
isaiah still looked unsure, especially because julian wasnât meeting his eyes. âbut blair said it too.â he couldnât help pointing out, glancing over at cristian briefly. isaiah drank more of his beer down, trying to think of what to say or do now.
blair
âi sure did.â she crosses her arms against her chest and looks over at julian.
cristian
cristian wasnât even phased. âwhat?â he declared, looking from julian to sofia and back, unmindful of the sensitive subject he had exposed and not really finding the awkwardness in the situation. âno shame, julian,â he shrugged, âforgot she was your girlfriend though, maxwell. oh well.â his tone came through with a carelessness.
julian
julian chose to ignore cristian, leaving sofia to deal with him. âblair, isnât it your turn, anyways? come on, back to the game. truth or dare, blair?â he was quick to change the subject.
isaiah
isaiah shot cristian an unimpressed look, before looking back at julian. he still didnât really want to let this go. âyouâd tell me though, right? if you liked her. if you didnât want me to date her.â isaiah repeated. he didnât entirely believe julian right now.
blair
âyeah iâm not participating in this game. i only told bryce to shut up to save me from a headache.â Â blair shrugs her shoulders, Â "so find another contestant.â
bill nye-12/08/2017
bryce narrowed his eyes, his grip on his can tightening as he heard blairâs comment. sure he was probably being annoying, but did she have to be so mean? her words kind of hurt. "s-shut up blair,â he mumbled
daniel
âiâll go,â daniel volunteered, just wanting to get the attention off the topic at hand and back on something slightly lighter. âdo your worst, vega.â
julian
âyeah, i would tell you, man,â julian said, quietly to isaiah, aside from the group. more drunk than sober, julian really thought he was being convincing. âah, yeah okay. truth or dare, daniel?â
sofia
âyouâŠare trouble,â sofia said, not un-affectionately. âbig trouble. like i said before, fuuuuck this game.â she became very interested in her beer again, then found herself staring at the door alex had left from.  at the mention of  the name, vega, she started paying attention to the game again. âha, daniel is getting dared by both vegas.â
daniel
âdare, i guess,â he nodded as sofia made the decision for him.
julian
âyou got the first one, i get this one,â he said, pointing over to his cousin. he then looked at daniel, shirtless, and laughed. âi mean, youâre already halfway there. take your pants off, dude. thatâs your dare.â julian was desperate for any distraction he could make to turn the focus off of him.
daniel
with a sigh, daniel stood up, undoing his belt and pulling of his jeans, leaving him in just a bair of boxers. ânext time iâll have to pick truth, gotta keep some of my dignity.â his gaze darted around the circle, settling on cris. âbirthday boy. truth or dare?â
naomi
naomiâs cheeks reddened as daniel undressed and she made sure to divert her gaze somewhere else to keep herself from drooling. x
bryce
bryce finds himself drawn to daniel, but after a few seconds of staring he adverts his gaze.Â
cristian
almost forgetting he hadnât gone, Â cristian looked up from his drink when daniel called him out and gave the other a bold look, eyes unworried. âdare,â he said as if his response were obvious.
blair
as soon as blair heard daniel call cristian out, she knew what she had to do. âi dare you to tell us who you cheated on damaris with.â at this point, blair does not give (1) fuck about anything.
isaiah
isaiah glanced at damaris, who suddenly looked extremely, extremely sad. he felt a rush of anger, yet again, at cristian, and then looked at blair. âblair⊠come on, maybe we shouldnât talk about this.â he couldnât help putting a protective hand on top of damarisâ, offering it a small squeeze and hoping to god theyâd change the damn subject
cristian
cristian definitely wasnât expecting that, his eyes widening as blair finished speaking. he knew that information was bound to get out eventually, but he didnât think for a second that itâd be like this. part of him wanted to whine and complain about blairâs dare, and maybe it was the alcohol taking over, but he wasnât the type to just give up defeat. especially when he had just called julian out for not being truthful. cristian gave ashley a subtle, sorry look before speaking, âwell, sheâs in this room,â he started vaguely, avoiding eye contact with damaris and taking as long as he could to answer the question.
blair
blair glares at naomi.
damaris
in the same way that she had never been able to avert her eyes from horrible events before her, like crashes on the freeway that were impossible not to look at as she drove by, there was some kind of morbid interest in what he had to say. she couldnât help but WANT to hear the answer she hadnât had in all the time since, even though her heartbeat was drumming hard and fast and isaiahâs hand on hers, suddenly, was urging her to want anything but. keep the peace. itâd be easy to do, like always - all she had to do was agree with him, shoot down blairâs idea, and let what cristian said fall on deaf ears. let the night go by, without incident. they could have one, NICE night, if she just choked back her words and let someone else change the subject. but she was so sick of it - she was so sick of being nice, and of letting things go by unsaid because she didnât want to cause a fuss, of letting her feelings fester and mold instead of acting on them. and in spite of better judgement, of knowing that it wouldnât lead anywhere good, she cleared her throat and said directly to cris, after a long moment had passed, âyou donât see how thatâs⊠worse than not saying anything at all, do you?- becauseâŠ- because if you hadnât said THAT, then i wouldnât be sat here looking at ALL of my so called friends, and wondering if theyâŠ- if they were part of ruining what we HAD. instead of just⊠being honest, and decent, for once in your life, youâre dodging the question, and making everything WORSE, like⊠like you always do.â a pause, to catch her breath, and then she wa piggy backing on blairâs dare- âwho WAS it, cristian?- which one of our friends did you screw on the side?â
isaiah
isaiah kept his eyes on damaris, feeling his own heart twist in pain for her. damaris was the last person who deserved to be treated like this, and seeing her this upset made isaiah want to truly whisk her away, back to the safety of their flat, and watch brooklyn nine nine. suddenly, he really regretted bringing her with him, and playing this dumb game. maybe they should have just stayed in the kitchen. âmari.â he said softly, but he didnât know what else to say, or do. it was just painful  to see her like this. âblair, whyâd you have to bring that up?â isaiah couldnât help adding, before looking over at cristian. âand youâre a real asshole, dude.â
bryce
bryce chewed on his lip as he noticed the tension in the room, his eyes immediately going towards damaris, to see if she was okay. she wasnât- but he wasnât sure what much he could do. she probably wouldnât want his drunkass trying to hug her, so he settled for a small, sympathetic smile.
blair
âwhy? because iâm tired of having liars and backstabbers in this group.â blair replies, âand damaris doesnât deserve to have the truth being hid from her. so, cristian, grow some fucking balls and tell us who you slept with.â
ashley
ashley could feel her heart pounding against her chest as cris answered, her eyes dropping to danielâs shirt that was still in her lap, her fingers wrapping around a loose thread. her heart broke as damaris spoke, knowing how she felt. she didnât know if cris would say it was her or not, but she didnât even give him the chance. âit was me,â ashley blurted out, finally looking up and meeting damarisâ eyes. âiâm sorry damaris, i didnât know you, or even that you existed. i was gonna say something as soon as i found out, but,â her voice trailed off, not wanting to put that blame on cris.
cristian
ashley spoke up before cristian had the chance, his mouth half open as if it were about to speak but then, with the secret coming to light, his face froze at the blondeâs confession. there wasnât many times in his life where he was left speechless, but he honestly didnât really know what to say. âyeah, well,â he mumbled to no one in particular, âthere yaâ go.â cristian knew it had to be awful for damaris to have to hear that, especially after all this timeâ but it had to come out eventually, and at this point, there was not much he could do but accept the consequences. his eyes diverted to the floor for a moment before glancing at damaris with a mix of uneasiness and guilt. âiâm uhâ sorry too,â he decided to add, nodding awkwardly, his voice low as he dug his teeth into the bottom of his lip, âsorry you had to find out like this.â his jaw clenched stiffly, uneasy with the vulnerability of the situation, but a part of him did actually feel bad.
blair
blair let out a laugh as ashley spoke up. OF COURSE she was the mystery girl.  and to top it off, cristian confirmed it. âyouâre literally such a moron. why are you on the team? let me guess you spread them open for daniel too.â she glares at naomi and daniel before her gaze is back on ashley, âand the fact that you never told damaris⊠why? to keep cristian from not talking to you or what? my god youâre like a free for all, ashley. is there anyone you havenât slept with? iâm sure that list is as small as your brain.â
isaiah
the stilted 'im sorryâ from cristian had isaiah glaring even more so at the boy now. isaiah tried not to groan at ashleyâs admission. he closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. couldnât they all just have one night? one night without this crap? without someone sleeping with someone, or somebody kissing somebody else? isaiah didnât look at ashley, instead fixing his gaze on cristian. âyouâre sorry ? wow, that sounds so genuine dude. and you know what? youâve totally fixed it. damaris is the nicest girl any of us have ever fuckinâ met and you destroyed her. do you think about that? or anything other then yourself?â isaiah couldnât help snapping. as blair began speaking, isaiahâs eyes closed once again. âblairâ he said, sharply.
blair
blair hummed and pointed to isaiah as he spoke, âheâs right. a half assed sorry isnât going to fix everything, you fucking idiot.â she rolled her eyes as isaiah said her name, âwhat, isaiah? youâre mad because ashleyâs given it to everyone except you? jesus christ you deserve better than someone who has an open twenty four hours sign in between her legs and knows how to count to four.â
isaiah
âblair, for once in your life: shut the fuck up.â isaiah sniped, âashley can do whatever she wants, its her fuckinâ body.â his eyes finally went to ashley. âso long as it doesnt hurt people.â but it had. it had destroyed damaris, and neither her or cristian had ever said anything. isaiah knew ashley probably didnt intentionally hurt damaris, but it was still awful news, all around
blair
âhow about youââ blair doesnât reply, instead she gets really quiet and sighs. âfine.â sheâll remember this like a true scorpio.
naomi
as soon as the insults began to leave blairâs lips, naomi went to sit next to ashley and wrapped her arm over her shoulder. âdonât listen to her.â Â she gives the blonde a reassuring smile. sheâs been the target of blairâs wrath before and it was never pretty so the only thing naomi could suggest ashley to do was to just stay quiet.
micah
âfuck off, blair.â it was the first thing micah had said all night. usually, he and blair didnât butt heads. they were similar, in some ways, and it was why he kind of liked her. but he liked ashley more, and he wasnât gonna let her be talked about. âitâs her body, and she can do what she wants with it. she doesnât owe anyone shit.â
cristian
having been initially stunned by it all, cristian was suddenly shot back into reality once blair started to go off. â hey, hey! no need to attack ashley like that, okay ? just quit it, blair,â he spoke up, his brows drawn in frustration, the intensity of the sitation pushing him to intervene. â itâs not all on her. iâm definitely more at fault than she is. so justââ Â he ran a hand across his face, sighing deeply, evidently annoyed with how shit had gone down hill. cristian rolled his eyes at the maxwells now turning to him with the harsh words, having had enough with people messing in his business. "yes, iâm fucking sorry. what ? i canât say sorry ?â he spat back, palms out, getting heated, â iâm well fucking aware thatâs itâs not going to fix everything, dude.â eyes narrowed at isaiah. Â "and i rather not have to explain myself or plead for fucking forgiveness in front of all of you, when thereâs really only one person it concerns.â he took another heavy sigh, his anger rising.
julian
he didnât want to draw any attention to himself, but julian had reached the bottom of his beer three blair-drags ago. he quickly rose out of his chair and practically ran away to the kitchen.
damaris
sheâd been at peace with it. that was the WORST part - damaris had, in one sense of the words, let it go. her heart still ached when she thought back to what theyâd lost, and there were times that she had caught herself looking towards cristian with a crushing sort of sadness at what heâd done ( her mind straying more than sheâd admit to the other party, and who she was⊠question now answered ), but sheâd done what she could to move on, and it had shown. ask anyone - they were getting on, now, better than ever. if she closed her eyes then and there instead of wasting all her time staring across at cris, eyes tearful, then she could even conjure up the image of him bending his head over the birthday cake sheâd made, and hear their easy back and forth. easy. thatâs what it had become, to be around him, to talk to him, or at least⊠what it was getting to. her heart was MENDING and she was better for it - and then blair had brought it up. she knew her friend had, in her heart of hearts, meant well. whatever her motivations, she had, in a way, meant to do good. but the road to hell was paved in good intentions, and knowing that it was ashley - the girl sheâd smiled across the room to every morning since sheâd joined, the blonde sheâd been so HOPING would end up with the very boy whoâs hand she now tore her own from, didnât make it any better. it didnât make her feel RELIEVED, to know, and to not have to look at naomi, and kimberly, and vanessa, and the others, and wonder who it was. no - knowing didnât make ANYTHING better. it just brought it all back again, everything sheâd felt when it had first happened. it reopened the wound sheâd managed to close, and standing up, damaris was done. sheâd gotten what she wanted and she was DONE, with cristian, with ashley, with the whole entire group of people who had until then been sat around celebrating her ex boyfriends birthday."thank you, for your apologies,â her words were stiff and stilted, the lack of emotion behind them startling considering that at current moment, her hands were shaking violently and her heart seemed fit to burst from her chest, âthey mean a lot.â they didnât. it was obvious, they didnât, but she didnât care. damarisâ gaze leveled with blair, and she added before anything more could be said, âdonât, blair. DONâT DO THAT. iâŠ- i- you being nasty is just⊠itâs so uncalled for, right now. donât pick on her, and insult her, and⊠and belittle her choices, because you think youâre standing up for me, because youâre NOT. nothing you just said to ashley has made me feel ANY better, and nothing else that comes out of your mouth WILL, so for once just shut up, and stay out of it.â it hurt her, to be so blunt to blair, but it was so important for her to know - for her to let her know, that ripping into another girl didnât make damaris feel any better at current moment. it took two to tango. they could say all they wanted about ashley, and cristian, but it didntâ change what theyâd done, and it didnât help. what would help, she knew, was getting herself out of a situation that was making it difficult for her to breathe - and with one final look around ( mostly for dramatic effect by me ), damaris carefully stepped around them all, and made her much needed exit with a softly spoken, ânight.â over her shoulder.
ashley
ashley nodded, leaning into naomiâs touch. she wasnât planning on saying anything; what could she say? blair was right, except for the sleeping with daniel part. and blair should be defending her friend. she shot both micah, cris, and isaiah a small smile, thanking them for defending her.
blair
âoh you guys donât piss cristian off too much because then heâs going to go off on another killing spree and blame it on the ghosts!â she says sarcastically, still not over the silverwood thing. however as damaris started talking and directed all that attitude at her, blair had just about enough. âoh whatever damaris. iâm tired of you acting like such a weak and soft person and for what? only to be walked all over? cheated on? youâre a mess and trust me when i say that i donât want to get involved with you or your dumbass drama again. so consider me staying out of it, forever.â she glares at damaris as she leaves and waits a few minutes before gathering her things and leaving as well.
isaiah
there was a beat of silence after damaris spoke, and then stood and walked away. isaiah was speechless. heâd known damaris for a while now and heâd never, ever, ever seen her so heartbroken. heâd never seen her look so destroyed and upset, and he couldnât help it. isaiahâs attention turned back to cristian, as he stood up now too. âmari-â he called out, knowing it was too late and sheâd gone. she probably needed alone time, but that didnât mean isaiah couldnât at least try. he turned, to face cristian properly, his palms balling into fists as he glared at the stupid male. âman, you arenât trying to fuckinâ fix anything. stop pretending like you have some redeeming quality to you, the only reason half of us are here is because of the free alcohol. nobody gives a shit its your birthday because nobody gives a shit about you.â isaiah couldnât stop, he was on a roll as he walked right over to cristian, for no discernible reason. he thought of this asshole with slimy gross hands touching ashley of all people, and that was what pushed him over the edge. isaiah didnât realise heâd lifted his arm until it was too late, and then ⊠he was punching cristian right across the jaw.
naomi
âdaniel put your clothes on you look like an imbecile.â naomi mutters, grabbing the shirt from ashleyâs lap and throwing it in his direction. âyou wanna go get something to drink? i know julianâs in the kitchen!â
julian
even though he had ran away, julian kept an ear to the room where the team was, hearing mostly everything that was being yelled at each other. it wasnât until he heard the sound of the fight beginning that he actually did anything about it. âwhoa!â he called out, rushing out of the kitchen. âtwo fucking secondsâgod dammit,â he muttered, looking to daniel. âah, you get cris?â he said, figuring he would grab isaiah.
cristian
âoh, fucking save it, maââ cristian started to say, waving off isaiah who was now standing above him, but before he could even finish his sentance, he felt a heated force collide with the side of his jaw, sending cristian through a whiplash of emotions. and just like that, that was all it took. as cristian brought his head back to look isaiah square in the face with such irritation, he almost wanted to laugh. âwrong move, maxwell,â he hissed between his teeth, still soaking up the pain of the punch to the face. it was as if he had been waiting so long for this moment. all the tension and hate had finally built up between the two, and it was all coming to light. almost immediately following, cristian got up with the same force as isaiah had and immediately reciprocated the otherâs punch, his body clashing with his opponentâs as the two began to entangle themselves in a brawl.
daniel
daniel had just finished putting his clothes back on and was already on his way over to isaiah and cris when julian returned. he nodded silently at him, moving over to cris as quickly as he could, but was a few seconds too late. flinching as cris threw a punch, daniel gabbed on to him and tried to pull him off of isaiah. âdude, c'mon. let it go. you guys are even now.â couldnât they just have one night?
julian
julian entered into the fray at the same time daniel did, pulling isaiah back away from cristian, trying not to get hit himself. âyouâve made your fucking points,â he groaned.
micah
âshit. cris, dudeââ he tried to grab his best friend, in hopes of pulling him off of isaiah. while micah liked isaiah, and had the confidence that he could take just about anyone else, cristian would eat him alive. âdude, stop. both of you.â
vanessa
âWell,â from her place sat in the corner, clutching her drink like sheâd just been on a wild rollercoaster and had to keep it safe ( which is what the past ten minutes had felt like ), Nessa let out a low whistle under her breath announcing to them all, âYour display of testosterone is really, really cool and all- really, I think Naom.. some very eager beaver might just PEE herself ⊠or himself, with all these hot men bickering right in front of her, or him, but- maybe you should both ask yourselves very carefully, 'does it solve anything to punch my foe again and againâ? And if the answer is no, then.. donât.â She paused, considered, and then clarified ( though she didnât expect her words to do any kind of good ), âthis isnât a test, the answer is very much NO, so quit it and drink your problems away like normal people.â
kimi
kimberly⊠well, she planned on leaving. and she wanted to, really. then the game got interesting, and she wasnât the type to miss a good show. it wasnât like she didnât already know cristian and ashley were fucking. it was how she and cristian met, really. but she did feel a sting in her chest, having to hear it announced to the whole group. she hated it. but, apparently, not as much as everyone else. she sat back and watched as the group imploded. she wasnât surprised by that either; any âpure, wholesome night of good, pure funâ was bound to be ruined by either ashleyâs stupidity or someone elseâs big, fat mouth. (or lanaâs dramatic ass passing out. whatever.) as fun as that was to watch, nothing quite compared to watching cristian attack isaiah. she bit her lower lip, suppressing a smile. oh, sheâd be having good dreams tonight. she listened to what nessa said, giving her a small fraction of her attention, as her eyes followed cristianâs form. âdrinks would be good,â she commented in response to vanessa. her voice mightâve been a little high pitched, but she could blame that on nerves. and not the fact that this fight was turning her on a little.
cristian
chest heaving with adrenaline, cristian eventually allowed himself to be pulled from isaiah, his eyes still rushing with fury as his two friends stopped him. he didnât say anything â just gave isaiah a dirty look as their fight came to an end, and nodded reluctantly to micah and daniel at his sides, his arms settling. he wasnât one to give in easily, so his chin still held up superiorly as he turned away.
