i really respect lower decks for continually sticking by the "no one in Star Trek and especially Starfleet is inherently bad, people who appear to be 'problems' just need genuine support and encouragement and they can improve themselves". i know it's part of the Roddenberry vision or whatever and pretty much all of Star Trek stands by it but lower decks especially exemplifies it and every time it slaps.
