like if you understand that piracy doesn’t hurt sales and can actually HELP a product so better (spreading good word of mouth about it, encouraging others to check it out), you need to understand piracy does NOT actually go hand in hand with boycotts

you NEED to learn how to actually disengage with harmful contents instead of finding work arounds where you can still enjoy it. enjoying content that hurts its producers is not morally good.

there are cases where still consuming goods that aren’t morally good is excusable (like broke people buying fast fashion) but… media consumption is not part of that. media consumption is not a necessity you can’t avoid.

you NEED to tap out of stan culture and learn that if you want to feel good about what you do and don’t consume, you have to actually stick to your guns for two fucking minutes
