Hello, different anon, but would you ever consider finishing that transcription now that you are more experienced in transcribing? I am a beginner pianist and I can’t really do things like that, but I would really like to play that version of the piece as one of my first songs learned !

I appreciate that you consider me experienced in transcribing now, but I’ve really only done those three pieces so I’ve got a lot to learn about transcribing, too! My only real advantage when it comes to transcribing is that I have a good ear, so I can pick out the notes that are played in the piece and figure out the right note timings in a one-to-one ratio. When it comes to pieces that are played by an instrument other than just the piano, it’s much trickier for me as I’m not yet confident in my ability to transcribe other instruments, and it’s much harder to listen for each individual instrument at the same time. That’s why I’ve been transcribing the piano versions of the songs rather than the full instrumental versions.

So, while it could happen at some point, transcribing the second version of I Draw is quite low on my to-do list. Best of luck to you with your piano, though!

Heyyy I have a quick question regarding V’s theme on the V route, there’s two versions of it actually, the A minor ver (the one you transcribed) and there’s an e minor one. Is it easy to transcribe it to the E minor (ver 2) Of That piece? If it is, I’ll try to convert it myself. ^^

Hi there! Funnily enough, that was the version I originally began to transcribe before I decided that, as a first-time transcriber, a one-to-one transcription of the piano version would be easier. I do, however, have just under a page of that original transcription left over if it’ll help you (hasn’t been “proof-read” or anything so I can’t guarantee accuracy):

As for ease of transcription – I don’t believe it’ll be too different from the piano version that I transcribed, though since I don’t have experience transcribing music for multiple instruments I can’t really say for sure. Good luck if you do try it!

heyy i was just wondering if you were ever going to transcribe light and daffodils? you said you wanted to a while back, so i was just wondering if that's still going to happen. anyway, i realize it takes time to do this stuff, but i was just curious if you're still thinking about doing it or not, as i would love to play it on piano! if you're not that's ok too (obviously it's your choice) cheers!

Of course I’d love to! I’m at the start of a new school semester so I should have a bit more time to dedicate to transcribing it (...I may have already done the first page a while back before I got distracted by Endless Struggle...). hiya! i was just wondering if you were going to continue to post audio voice clips from the game? you don’t have to translate the main menu clips anymore bc they have official translations now, but i always thought that this blog was a good resource for preserving main menu clips after updates (like the halloween and valentines main menu messages for example.) if not don’t feel obligated to or anything! i just wanna know if i should keep my own record of them ^^ thanks!

We do generally collect all the voice clips after updates, though work, school, and other commitments do keep us from posting as often as we used to ^^;; That’s a good point, though! I’ll try to ensure we have the ‘limited’ voice clips on the blog so other people can listen to them ^^

@irethnumenesse I’d love if you shared a video of Endless Struggle! I think it’s wonderful that people are learning to play the pieces I’ve transcribed. I don’t mind if it’s a variation or a different instrument or if you make some mistakes (I know I mess up a lot when playing them haha), I’d love to listen ^^

Hello, Mod Rainbow Unicorn here! I’m back with a small-ish update to my sheet music of Endless Struggle now that I’ve finally finished practicing it myself. I’ve added the fingering I use for some of the more difficult parts (e.g. the runs and arpeggios), and I also took out/changed about three notes on the fourth page to make it a teeny bit easier to play (my hands only stretch so far, you know?). Hopefully this helps anyone practicing the song, and good luck!

Gosh, you’re welcome! This is the only fandom I’ve ever done piano transcriptions for, actually. I just love the music so much! (and also no one else is doing transcriptions of the songs I want as fast as I want to play them, haha). As soon as I heard this song in the background of the interview video Cheritz put out I thought “oh my god that song is beautiful” -- it’s also definitely the hardest one to play (and to transcribe), but if you’re able to play it then I’m really glad!

A minor in music sounds really nice! Good luck with it if you’re still studying ^^ And good luck with any of the pieces if you decide to tackle playing them! Hope you have a wonderful day :)

Mod Rainbow Unicorn again, back with another piano transcription from the new Ray Route. Not gonna lie, this was the hardest transcription I’ve ever done in my life and I’m not entirely sure I can even play this song ^^;; (So yes, the playback is computer-generated this time from my sheet music software)

It gets a little messy in the middle because there’s a whole lot going on; I’d consider making a slightly ‘easier-to-play’ version with fewer notes if anyone is interested; it won’t make it easy to play, but it might help with some of those crazy fast sixteenth (and 32nd) notes. 

Anyway, enjoy! I worked really hard on it so I hope you like it :) And if there’s anyone who manages to play this gorgeous song, please let me know!

Hello! Can you arranged violin sheet of mystic messenger too? Or do you do transcriptions only for piano?

Well, I’ve actually done the first ~minute or so of Ray’s themefor piano, glockenspiel, and violin, but tbh it’s getting hard to hear thepiano under the violin lol. I would like to finish it sometime though becauseit’s such a lovely song, but there are other piano pieces I expect I’d finishbefore that one ^^;

Something I 100% coulddo though is give you sheet music of just the violin part, because picking upthat melody by ear is really easy for me. It’s just listening to all the otherinstruments in the background that’s more troublesome. So, if that’s somethingpeople are interested in, let me know :3c I could also write a generic-ishpiano part to accompany it (chords/arpeggios in the right key etc) – and heck,I could even do the glockenspiel part, but ideally I’d want to get the actualnotes used during the ‘orchestral’ version of his song...

I should also probably note that I only play piano, so if I do make sheet music for the violin, itwould pretty much just be what I’d write if I were to play one note at a timeon the piano. I’m not really sure what the conventions are for otherinstruments when it comes to sheet music. Advice is welcome, though!

 Tl;dr I’ve never really done the transcribing thing beforeso everything is new to me and I’m not entirely sure what I’m capable of doingyet :P Thus far I have literally just been listening to the OST really slowlyand writing down exactly what I hear since I’m good at playing by ear>///< And then, you know, years of theory makes some of the guesswork andsheet music stuff easier.

So… suggestions/advice/feedback definitely welcome, and letme know if there are other people who’d want just the violin part of Ray’stheme!

Hello! Mod Rainbow Unicorn again. Remember how I said I wanted to transcribe more of the songs on V’s route? Well here I am again with a new song - Ray’s Theme! The title is from this lovely piece of fanart from @eori-namo.

I think I’ve gotten a little better at the transcribing thing - it helps that this song is easier to play. Thank you again for all the encouragement after I posted my other transcription! (You can find it here - it’s V’s Theme from his route).

I actually finished transcribing this over a week ago, but spent until now practicing it on the piano because I didn’t want to give you guys a computer-generated recording ^^;; (It’s me playing V’s theme, too, in case you were wondering). As before, you can download a PDF of the sheets on MuseScore here.

Anyway, if people are interested I’m thinking I’ll work on a piano version of the opening (Light and Daffodils) next. Enjoy!

I’ll put it on my to-do list, anon! I did fiddle around with it earlier when I was trying to figure out what song I wanted to do next, and I don’t think it’ll be too complicated, either. It doesn’t have a natural key signature though, unlike Ray and V’s themes, haha~

Anyway, they do take me a while to make, so you’ll have to be patient. But I hope to have another arrangement out sometime soon!
