“Promise me!” she had insisted, hands on her hips, her brown hair floating wildly because of the night wind.

The backyard between our houses was suddenly silent and all I could hear was the wind and her voice.

“Mom said I shouldn’t promise things if I don’t intend to keep them.”

And it was true, I didn’t want to break a promise, especially not to her.

“But you will marry me! Right?”

I couldn’t answer her right away.

Of course I wanted to, of course I would do my best to but will I be able to?

“You don’t want to marry me?”, she finally had said with a pout on her lips and tears forming in her brown eyes.

“No, I want to. I promise!”, I had replied promptly, not wanting to upset her, while linking our pinkies. 

I remember.

I remember her.

I remember growing up with her.

I remember liking her, loving her.

I remember her red bow, her favorite, that she had lost one day at the playground.

I remember her bunny bandaid her mom kept putting on her knees because she couldn’t stay unbruised from all our shenanigans.

I remember how she couldn’t lace her shoes correctly so she would just let them untouched until she would trip on them.

I remember her smile, the only one who could make my heart jumps from my chest.

I remember her freckles and her birthmark and how she would trace each of them and tell me their story.

I remember her love for drawing and how she could stop telling me how my dreams will come true.

I remember growing up with her.

And I remember losing her.

“Yoongi, my dear, you know your mother doesn’t have a choice. She finds this new job and it comes with a lot of advantages.”

“But we have to move out”

“Yes.”

“I don’t want to.”

“You will have to, baby. I’m really sorry, I know how much you love your friends and your school.”

“I don’t want to leave her.”

My father’s eyes were so sad when I had yelled this to his face.

I think he knew how important she was for me but he had no other choice.

I had no other choice.

So I moved out when I was fifteen, leaving my hometown Daegu for Seoul.

I hated it.

I hated my new school, I hated the people there and our neighbours and their stupid parrots.

I hated the neighbourhood and how grey it was.

I wanted my house, my treehouse, my friends and her.

She had promised me to write me and call me.

She did at first, each week.

I had my letter on the Saturday morning.

I could see her handwriting tell me all about her new routine.

Sometimes, I would have the chance to receive a photo.

A photo I would put in an album I kept hidden under my bed.

I missed her so much.

And one day, the letter had stopped coming.

I kept writing mine despite the fact I knew I would have gotten no reply.

I had knew after a while that I had completely lost her.

She must have better things to do.

She must have forgotten about me.

About us.

I was seventeen when I met this girl, Ji Eun.

Actually, she was the person who did the first step and came talk to me.

I wasn’t too sure about this at al but Ji Eun was kind and shy.

She was a good friend and her company didn’t bored me.

I didn’t hate her.

And frankly, it was a first.

I still missed her but Ji Eun helped me coming to term.

She didn’t want me.

Anymore.

I will not want her then.

But it wasn’t true.

I still wanted her but she was just a dream now.

“You will live all your dreams Min Yoongi, I’m certain, and I will be by your side.”, she finally had let out after hearing my solo.

All but lies.

I was now twenty years old and my life was beyond messed up.

Ji Eun, my only friend decided I was too messed up to keep being near me.

“You can’t chase ghost Yoongi. She is not here, I am but oddly, you need her more than you need me.”

I guess she wasn’t just a friend after all but I couldn’t give her what she wanted.

I was promised.

Or I still thought I was.

Stupid me for being this romantic and honest.

I wanted to throw myself out.

I wanted to burn those memories, those letters, those pictures but I couldn’t.

She was real, she was somewhere and she was happy.

Happy without me.

And it hurt like it shouldn’t.

Like it was wrong.

Why would I be this affected?

She forgot about me ages ago.

Why can’t I do the same?

When did I have to be this pathetic?

All but Jin : Yes!

Hoseok : What's your house?

Jin : What else than slytherin?

Yoongi : So am I the only one here who didn't take that test?

Namjoon : Seems like it!

Yoongi : Y'all suck!

Jimin : Say the one who is houseless...
