Theodore at R.A.S.T.A. (Rescue And Sanctuary for Threatened Animals) in British Columbia.
“Barely alive, this day-old calf was found discarded on a manure pile at a B.C. dairy farm. Taken from his mother at just a few hours old, Theodore was denied the basic care that he so desperately needed since his veterinary costs would exceed the potential profits he would make for the farmer when slaughtered for veal. Fortunately Theo’s story, unlike most dairy calves whose sad destiny is to end up a delicacy on someone’s plate, is one that ends happily at The R.A.S.T.A. Sanctuary.
Theodore is now six years old and weighs close to 3,000 pounds!! Pretty good for a calf that wasn’t supposed to survive the first night.”
“While most compassionate people aware of the cruelty involved in raising and slaughtering baby cows for veal would never support such an atrocity, many are unaware that the veal industry and the dairy industry go hand-in-hand. In fact, the veal industry is just a by-product of the dairy industry. Like all other animals, cows must give birth every year in order to have milk to feed their young. However, in the dairy industry calves are viciously torn from their mother’s sides when they are just a few hours old and rather than receiving the milk from their mothers, they are fed an artificial anemia inducing diet as the milk is collected for “higher purposes” (human consumption). The veal calves, which are by-products of the dairy industry, are kept in tiny crates where they can barely move (can’t even turn around) so their muscles remain underdeveloped and their flesh remains tender to the taste until such time that they are slaughtered for the human delicacy known as veal. The sad fact is; if you drink milk or consume dairy products (cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter, milk chocolate, etc.) you support the veal industry. To learn more, please visit; www.milksucks.com ”

Behind all of the pics, likes and number on social media there are real people! And it was such a buzz to catch up with you guys last night for a late dinner (our apologies…! 😅). It was so inspiring to meet up with you guys and see how everyone else lives and interacts through social media. It’s definitely given me more drive to offer more value through my accounts starting with lasts night YouTube video on ‘having kids and veganism’. Go check it out @jason.pizzino on YouTube. There’s tonnes of really detailed and interesting comments already! And for more on the dinner, check out snapchat 👻 (at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
The body is so easily damaged, so easily disposed of, water and chemicals is all it is, hardly more to it than a jellyfish, drying on sand.

Macaroni skillet / Recipe
Some of you wanted the recipe before Valentines so here it is! #Vegan ‘bulgogi, but not really" korean sushi aka kimbap aka gimbap aka yak-gochujang kimbap aka THE BOMB KOREAN SUSHI PLATTER FOR TWO 💘😉💘 I’ll stick the recipe right here, but will be on the blog when I am homeboundss 😊 Enjoy! ➡FYI:THIS MAKES HEAPS OF SUSHI, GET READY FOR LEFTOVERS👊 —————— ➡’ Bulgogi, not really’ Kimbap ⬅
💌Ingred for 'bulgogi’ : 1/3 cup gochujang(korean red peper paste) 1 tsp soy sauce(or tamari or liquid aminos) 6 FRESH shiitake mushrooms, sliced 1 eggplant, chopped, minced 2 tsp sesame oil 2 ½ TBSP beefree honey (or coconut sugar or fave sweetener) 3 cloves garlic, minced (u dont have to put this much *stanky breath*)
💌Recipe for 'bulgogi’ : In a pan(i used a wok), heat up sesame oil at a medium high heat and toss in garlic until fragrant. Then, toss in shiitake mushrooms and eggplant for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile, mix soy sauce, gochujang and sweetener together in a small bowl. Add A LITTLE BIT of the mixture to the pan at a time, depending how strong (or salty) you want the flavor. (NOTE: I didnt use the whole mixture) Let the flavor sink in and set aside.
💌🍣💌:Ingred for #Kimbap: 1 julienned carrot ½ julienned pickled daikon radish(asian supermarket) 4 cups spinach, blanched & seasoned w sesame & salt(if desired) 1 julienned cucumber some 'bulgogi’ kimchi rice, steamed with sugar & rice vinegar seaweed julienned green onion(topping) sesame seeds(topping)
💌🍣💌Recipe for kimbap: On a bamboo sushi mat(or towel), place seaweed shiny side down. With wet fingers(easier rice application 😊), spread rice over seaweed. Place desired ingredients on the bottom half of the rice spread and roll up from bottom. Slice, using a sharp knife for easier slicing, and top with 'bulgogi’, sesame seeds, and green onion.
Lmk if you have questions!!! 💌💌💌💌💘
