what started as a joke between me and @marvelousatrocity ( GO SEE THEIR ART ) very quickly snowballed into what we’ve called “VampiresBeachDay”! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who participated! I’ll be creating a master post in the next day or so containing the works of those we reached out to, so be on the look out for even more filler content!

The difference between Martyn’s reactions when Cleo vs Apo confessed to vampirism

Cleo was quick and outright with it, she had no desire to keep her status as a vampire hidden forever, and demonstrated that with how quickly she told people she trusted. Martyn was… apprehensive. But he eventually warmed up to the truth when he realized that Cleo truly meant no harm. The presence of another human in the form of Pearl must have taken some part in calming down his anxieties, as her understanding seemed to have rubbed off on him in some way. He agreed to keep her secret, and in doing so became increasingly more outspoken about his distaste for all vampires.

However, Apo pulled only Martyn aside, brought him to an area they both knew as safe, and finally decided to reveal what she was. All she did was state the truth: “I’m hungry.” To Apo, this is almost a plea for help. She’s only asking him to give her something for saving his life. To Martyn, it’s a threat, and he’s suddenly found himself in debt to a dangerous creature because of a favor he didn’t know he owed. He starts to scramble and essentially stops trying to listen to her. Instead, he betrays her trust and rushes to tell everyone in town what he’s learned. He’s so caught off guard, so taken aback, despite the fact that he has been suspecting this exact thing for days. Even after she assured him that she wouldn’t turn him, and that all she needed was a bit of human blood, he runs off and tells everyone.

Martyn has spent so much time with, has gone through so much with Apo. Though he suspected that she was a vampire, he didn’t want it. He desperately wanted to be wrong. But he was right, and he is incredibly impulsive and instinct-driven.

There’s no room for thinking when he’s in immediate danger. And to Martyn, he is in danger, because he has convinced himself that vampires are monsters, that they lose any sense of humanity the second they feel the bite. At this point, he might even be more against vampires than he once teased Avid for, frightened at the very utterance of their name.

So Martyn, in one simple, quick moment, ruins one of his closest relationships and sends the town into a fit of panic. He kept Cleo’s secret for so long, but couldn’t keep Apo’s for one second.

So for Art Fight- one of my attacks was @the-sunshine-dims' magpie OC and I got this idea that I could not stopp thinking of. That after SkyBoundSMP's ending-- Vast eventually finds a way to return the magpie flock to their original avian form. And I have such thoughts on like... if that means the magpies are returned with or without their memories of being the flock. And if this means that Vast basically adopts a flock of children or if she's more of a guiding mentor for thems I want y'all thoughts SO BAD
