Yes she is a girl! And I did intentionally choose Alexei or Alyosha as a name for her for a couple reasons the short of it is

• Her parents chose her name under the assumption that they wanted a boy and were having one

• And also because of the reason behind the name being “defender, protector, or helper of mankind” which I thought suited her
