Wine and Craft ;)
Hope you are able to see the video...had a hard time uploading this video.
Have to thank my friends for helping me getting me some wine bottles...plus mine. First, to remove the labels off the bottles soak the bottles in warm water and dish soap for at least a few hours. Also, I noticed that the cheaper the wine the easier the labels are to get off. Let them sit and dry, or else the spray may not stick. I suggest spraying the bottles at least a foot away for best results, and obviously make sure to open some windows to let the smell out.
Most of the supplies are from Hobby Lobby, and the plastic cups and paint brushes are from the dollar store.
For the cups I suggest the clear glue so you can see the residue after it dries.
And more importantly, I was drinking Barefoot Rose.
First Meal Prepping video!
Here’s my first video meal prepping. Not only am I new to meal prepping, but also making and editing videos....so please bear with me. In his video I made some chicken bowls and overnight oats. The chicken was seasoned with garlic pepper, salt, and chili powder. The veggies were just sautéed without seasoning, and the jasmine rice was just steamed. Pretty simple and tasty meal for lunch!
For breakfast I made the overnight oats and I added flaxseed, almond milk, almond butter, chocolate protein powder, and a 1/4 of a banana. I usually leave the oats overnight for at least 6 hours.
Did you catch the picture on the fridge?? That’s one of my good friends who I use as motivation to get my shit together. The roommate and I decided to put her picture up there to keep us focused by looking at her abs 😂😂
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!
Visited La Estrella Negra yesterday, and it was phenomenal! From the decor to the food. I ordered the sampler of tamales, which included an elote style tamale, and it was simply WOW! My co-worker ordered the steak fries, which I originally wanted to order, and they were AMAZING! I'm glad I finally got to go.
I'm a proud Latina, but this wasn't always the case. At a young age I struggled with my identity, and I think many young Latinos experienced a similar struggle. I struggled with my identity because I felt like I didn't belong here in America even though I was born and raised here. Not only did I not belong here, but I also did not belong in Mexico. There's a saying in Spanish that really resonates with me, and it goes like, "Ni de aquí, ni de allá". This means neither from here nor there. It wasn't until I went to UIC that I fortified my identity as a Latina. Today, I got the opportunity to go the Latino Behavioral Health Conference in Chicago. It gave me the opportunity to reflect on how fortunate I am. This conference also gave me the motivation to keep working towards my goal of helping mi gente.
Over the summer I visited the city of New Orleans for the first time. Needless to say, the food was AMAZING! While down there, I visited The Praline Connection, as was recommended by our Uber driver, and I had the BEST fried pickles. Simply amazing. They were thin like chips, and I couldn’t stop eating them. This same night we were suppose to go to a different restaurant, and when our Uber driver was dropping us off we noticed that the place had shut down. We were immensely lucky to have the Uber driver that we did because she took us back into town, and then recommended us to this place.
