this is an insane thing to say. and it's very reminiscent of how spop fans (and probably countless other fandoms) reduces any criticism of a queer character to queerphobia.
people have been complaining about Jax from the very beginning. or at least, from the point where the show started focusing too much on him.
i'm already sick of this "you couldn't handle complicated female characters" trend because 1. it tends to assume that the people who say they want complex female characters are the same ones who dislike said female characters and 2. most of these characters being brought up aren't even that complex. they're just assholes.
i'm sorry but there's nothing complex about Jax. she's just another asshole who thinks that nihilism is a valid reason to justify being a dickhead to others. we see these kinds of people irl a dime a dozen. the ones who says shit like "it's a dog eats dog world" or "survival of the fittest". it's not complexity, it's just selfishness. and tacking on a generic abusive parent story on top of it isn't gonna magically make the character more complex.
it's so funny to me how generic and overdone Jax's story is. selfish abusive edgelord with a deadbeat dad and an abusive mom. wow, who would have guessed! the only different thing about her character is her transness, but that doesn't really make things better when she's portrayed as an abusive predator towards other women.

what's complex about being a denialist and using nihilism to justify mockery, harassment, assault, potential sexual assault, and pushing your friends to suicide?
obviously, sexism and transphobia is a very present and pressing matter, but Gooseworx literally made a trans caricature that perpetuates harmful stereotypes that has gotten innocent people killed. of course people aren't going to want to accept or "handle" her.
Jax isn't complicated for being an abusive douchebag because she decided that hurting others was easier than doing anything else. Jax didn't have to be a bad person. she could've been passive, indifferent, careless, if Goose wanted her to be nihilistic.
she had no reason to do the things she did. she just wanted to. what don't people get about that? she's not complicated, she's not special or different for having a rough background, she's just an asshole who used her hurt to justify hurting others worse.
from what we know, Jax was guarded and less involved in the circus at all prior to Ribbit and Kaufmo. she wasn't hurting anybody. even if there were ( somehow ) doubts before, we know now that Jax was capable of leaving people alone. she just didn't want to.
she decided that Gangle was pathetic and deserved so much harassment and pain, just for existing.
she decided that Zooble should be left sad and miserable and was actually off-put by them being happier.
she decided that Ragatha deserved to be silenced, tormented endlessly, and was somehow fake just for trying to be a good person.
Jax decided to isolate and gaslight Ribbit until they committed suicide via abstraction, because of a choice she made.
there's nothing complex about Jax. she's just an awful, awful person who happens to be trans.
people's attraction to Jax before and after the confirmation, that's always been there.
people had liked Jax when she made fun of Pomni and threw her off the truck to use her.
people had liked Jax when she told Gangle to be submissive and threatened her.
people had liked Jax when she had all the keys to everyone's rooms ( for some fucking reason ), planted centipedes in Ragatha's bed, and shot her six times.
i don't think it has much to do with Jax being trans. people have always liked bad people, fiction or not.
Jax's had lovers as much as she's had haters since the beginning. it's not our fault that you're choosing to act like this.
