My personal arguments against theism.
How do you know your religion is the correct one?
Really though, how do you know? And if your answer is that "well, I don't know for sure, no one does." - then we can agree and you can stop following yours because it's the one you like. Or the one you were born into. Guarantee ya if you were born in a country with a religion different than yours, you'd be defending that one as the one true religion.
Most of you are just saving your own ass.
Come on now, be honest. And I've seen too many arguments dwindle down to:Ā "Well I don't want to burn in hell for eternity so I might as well take my chances and believe in God." or "Just believe in God! You've got nothing to lose! It's better than the alternative!" You people do not love your God, you do not value him in your choices. You are merely pretending to be a devout follower to save your own biscuits from getting grilled. You are putting yourself before your God and wouldn't your all knowing God know if you're full of shit?
Faith is ignorance.
Sorry to be blunt, but. It's true. By relying on sheer faith, you are closing your mind to critical thinking and not exploring answers for yourself and simply believing it because you want to. And why is the demand for faith so high? Why does it take such a great amount of faith to believe in God? If he/she is so real and omnipresent and so evident to believers then why does it require so much faith? Why do you play yourselves? Wouldn't it be so much easier if there was just one, tiny, shred, of undeniable proof of a God? Problem solved. There would be no more debate. No more faith. Certain knowledge.Ā Ā
The burden of proof is yours, theists.
You're the one saying there is without a doubt a God. Therefore it is up to you to follow through with proof. Just like if I told you that I picked up a car with just one finger, you wouldn't believe me for a second unless I had an unedited clear video of that shit. I can't just go, "WELL YOU CAN'T PROVE THAT I DIDN'T" as undeniable proof. It's a fucking ridiculous argument and borderline immature. It would not hold up in court, that's for sure.
Stop giving God credit for EVERYTHING.
Why is it, that when something seemingly unexplainable happens, your first conclusion is "God did it!" It would be more reasonable to claim that we don't know for sure how that seemingly unexplainable thing happened, than to say it was FOR SURE, an act of God. This goes straight back to my last point. You're force-feeding undeniable proof for something that we don't understand yet.
