Episode 5 & 6 my life with the walter boys
Mama & Papa Walter
They went through it this episode. It was nice that they got some alone time to themselves without the kids. Then the dramatics came; their kid almost being hurt and losing another piece of their property that was so important to them. I get Will really being gung ho about this development for the land, but I just feel bad for papa Walter. He's really trying but being almost forced to change up parts of your family's legacy must really suck.
Would you like a cup of coffee? Ep. 1
i don't know how to sign yet, but i can read heartbreak.
Episode 3 & 4 MLWTWB
Dad & Will
So is Will not getting the fact that the town has to buy into this development idea for it to work? I know that couple that's making trouble are kinda being bitches, but you can't ignore them and make this a big fight either. And big applause for Danny being the MVP for me so far this season and telling Will that his dad is really trying to support him even if it's been hard for him. I'm glad he made the effort to set up the whole fly fishing and asking what he's doing wrong. But he bitched out a little by calling for backup from Richard. But I get it, with him being the big funder and all.
my life with the Walter boys
Episode 1 & 2
I think I might upset the majority of this fandom with my opinions of this show since I see a lot of the characters completely differently than most. Like with the 2 main guys from the triangle with Jackie. I never thought Cole was this terrible asshole character. And actually thought it odd that Alex seemed to have such a deeply seated hatred for his own brother and family because of some girl's actions. But I get it and see all their points of view. It's just interesting to me that every word Cole says it turned to make it seem like he's this terrible person or something. One thing I enjoyed about last season and something their building on really well this season, is how much the Walters really love each other and try to have each other's backs despite their fights and disagreements.
Will & Dad & Contruction
So Will is gong ho about this development going his way and the way he has imagined it. I think because he wants to show his dad that he's this competent leader who knows what he's doing, that he's overcompensating a bit too much. Rejecting his dad's legit help and suggestions is only going to make him see blind spots to legitimate concerns that he should be thinking about. I really feel bad for his dad cause he's trying not to be overbearing but he's right about having a bit more experience with the town's mentality. But then again, Will is trying to do something new that benefits the ranch and town and people inherently don't like change. It's gonna be tough for them both. But to be honest, I'm more on dad's side right now. Sorry Will.
Nathan & Skyler
Oh boy Nathan, you better not cheat on your boyfriend with the new guys who gets you. If you're already this antsy after having one conversation, why do I foresee you melting for this guy the second you guys end up alone again. And Skyler is such a serious guy that I don't think he'll be able to forgive it at all. He might just let you go without a fight and I'm not sure you'll be able to get him back if things don't work out with this new guy. But maybe this new photographer guy is more fitting than Skyler was. In that case, who could be Skyler's new boo?
Danny & Erin
I'm happy for them. Erin has really come into her own of being happy with who she is and what she wants. And I do wonder how Cole will react when he finds out. He'll probably have the initial "what the hell, you're seeing my ex" reaction, but I hope he gets over it soon not hold a grudge like Alex did with him. Danny and Cole have such a great relationship as brother that I think if Cole finds out from Danny himself and he explains how it happens, then they'll be cool. I mean, it a good conflict, but the longer Danny keeps it a secret, the more upset I think Cole will be. Cause it's more about the lying and keeping a secret than any type of deep jealousy, I think and hope.
Kylie & Dylan & Alex
I'm with Kylie that Alex has been a bit of an asshole friend to her. Like bro, you have to be aware that you've been ignoring your best friend this whole time you've been back just because you like the fact that you're popular with the girls in school now. Whatever. I'm glad she switched out of driver's ed with Jackie. Don't chase this fool. And I see Dylan trying to make a connection and I'm totally cool with that development if it's as genuine as it seems. Dylan's still in his football mentality but he seems to like having deeper conversations with Kylie and she seems open to getting to know him. So we'll see how that goes, but my girl is sensitive so I think he might hurt her a bit but not more than Alex has so I'm sure he can make it up to her. And Alex needs to get it together because he doesn't even seem interested in having his friend back in his life like she used to. He's into the bronco, which makes sense since that's how he's spent his whole summer. But being back in school with all the attention from the girl and Jackie trying to make things up with him has made him forget some things.
The Walter who are stand-offish with Jackie at the moment
Jordan and Parker. I get it. I can't remember much about Jordan but having so many siblings who things take priority over his wants and now having Jackie back is probably irritating. But that's how it is to have siblings. Though I hope Jackie is able to make it up to him somehow the way she's trying to with Parker and getting her driver's license to drive her to practice. Jackie is definitely all over the place all the time and the loss of her family really effects everything she says and does. But she really does always tries to take action when trying to move the needle in any of the relationships she has with people in the town.
Jackie & Cole & Alex
Again, I'm of the opposite opinion with most of the fandom when it comes to this trio. To me, Jackie had eyes for Cole from the start and always opened up to him about her thoughts and experiences. I really didn't see Cole being an asshole to her as most did. He just didn't give her special treatment the way everyone else did and that made her interested in him. Like in season 1, I get that people hated him and thought he was the worst when he left her at school. But, I'm sorry, didn't he make an announcement in the kitchen that if anyone didn't make it to the car at a certain time, he was going to leave. And he kept his word, but Jackie expected special treatment, which I guess she should have gotten because of what she went through. But, it is what it is. So, with these 2 episodes so far, I'm not exactly sure what she's trying to patch up with Alex. She told Cole that she was trying to tell Alex about the kiss, but was she really going to. She just seemed like she was trying to be chummy chummy with him again, but not in a way that she was trying to get back with him as her boyfriend. So I get Alex being annoyed at her trying to play nice and been cool. Like girl, that was your boyfriend (ex now) that you ditched for the summer and didn't say a word to and now you wanna be like "I got you this book, we're cool right?." And knowing for a fact that she's still into Cole. I mean deep down, she knows she likes Cole and totally hates it when he's not into her. I mean she couldn't even stand some girl being flirty with him and had to walk away. She's still the most honest with him about how she feels and what she's going through. But Jackie does like keeping the peace so since she started this whole relationship with Alex because he was kind and sweet to her, though to me he was a bit of a creeper with his 'love' for Jackie. Maybe because I've been there where everyone wants you to get with someone who likes you way more than you like them and so she's sort of trapped herself in this relationship. And like she said, attempting anything with Cole would just be a huge emotional mess for everyone involved, including Alex, the family and herself. I mean the only that might not give them pushback would be Danny since he had more of a front row seat to seeing how they felt about each other especially with him spending time with Jackie in New York for that month.
I apologize in advance, but I completely disagree with this whole consensus of there being rewrites and the amount of vitriol and unrealistic criticism that has been thrown at the writers, in my opinion. I feel, we are humans and tend to be creatures of habit, so I am already hesitant and a bit eye-rolling at the absolute conviction that these "rewrites" are as severe as is portrayed. I can go back to some old, saved GH threads in the last year, few years, decades; where people claim dissatisfaction with the current regime and promote the fact that these new head writers are going to change GH for the better, fitting the storylines closer to the "mold" of what fans expect GH to be. And then, inevitably; once the new writers are in place, suddenly everything is a rewrite and characters aren't themselves, so now we want the old writers back because at least they knew our characters. Now think about how many cycles since General Hospital has aired where we have gone through this routine. And I am including myself in that 'we'.
My buffer was really just to say that everyone has characters they are preferential to and not preferential to. And so, because of that, we follow their stories more closely than others; which is why I feel I can still have a decent debate on opinions on a character I don't like and still enjoy the chaos of General Hospital, 'the show'. So even though some of these character choices don't makes sense to some, it might make sense to other since they prefer that character. For example, so far, I have been enjoying the Jason returns storyline and even though some things have irked my nerve, everything has pretty much made sense, so far. Yes, it is very very annoying when characters like Sam, Sonny (not surprising), and Liz turn against Jason. Especially if you were previously fans of those couples and somehow think Jason is still owed their loyalty. In my opinion, I feel it's an interesting contradiction and hypocritical perspective that I, as a fan, am trying to be more self-aware of.
So, in that regard, I definitely interpreted the Josslyn scene way differently than the consensus. In my opinion, Josslyn wasn't saying she didn't know Jason, Dex, or Sonny killed. I felt she was saying she didn't know how far or willing Jason or Dex would go to kill someone specifically based on Sonny's personal vendetta. Like a mob soldier. And she realized that seeing that part of Dex was not appealing to her and apparently turned her off enough to want to break up with him. And she accepts and loves Jason still, because he's family. And loving each other, right or wrong, is their family motto. Now, for Sonny and Sam, I will hold off because I feel like that part of the storyline, and others, are going to be more nuance than some think, and this is kind of the first wave. But if it lasts month of them hating Jason, then I'll be ranting. I'll see how it plays out.
To be a rebel and go against the grain, I think if the actual dialogue and sequence of events that happened during Carly buying the stocks were reviewed, I honestly think this would be a really flimsy case for insider trading. All I have seen are guesses and assumptions of whether the release of the merger was public within the business circle or just "rumors." Then, having go ogle definitions to back up claims that insider trading was committed. I understand it's been acknowledged in the show as insider trading, but it just seems this is the story GH wants to tell and will retcon any little detail that prove contrary. Like Drew and Carly already dating when she decided to invest her money.
They should make Drew and Portia a thing. I mean, they had good chemistry and conversations in the few scenes they've had. Since Drew likes to get in people's business and dole advice, maybe he overhears a phone conversation and find out about Trina's paternity.
His getting involved in that secret seems more organic to me than when he finds out about Carly knowing about Willow. Plus there would be more tension and history with him and Curtis, especially when Curtis finds out he's still married to Jordan. Let Drew be Portia's shoulder instead of Carly's.
This is definitely an unpopular opinion especially since Sprina fans (Trina fan first here) are loving Spencer's confession and see it as a redemption. I am starting to be more anti Spencer cause he seems to get a pat on the back for things he should have done to help Trina a long time ago. And Rory gets crapped on and called the worse names cause he does his job and told the truth on the stand. I'm not a huge fan, but he's fine as a fling or rebound character for Trina. I thought we wanted better PCPD cops, but I guess not.
My thing is, though I like the push and pull of Trina and Spencer and look forward to their romance, I just don't want him to be forgiven too easily. I mean, just thinking about all the BS Trina has gone through since getting arrested, I just want her to give him hell and make him suffer for a few months.
It just seems like a lot of that might get swept under the rug because of the couple's hype. I get it but please just don't rush the story so I can enjoy Trina's agency in all this.
Since it seems like Spencer will be making a confession in his upcoming testimony, do you think his plan was worth all the heartache he caused? It changed so many times and ended up coming down to him having Esme come up with a plan. And poor Cameron got dragged into it as well.
I'm a newbie and not really into participating in fandom but I do feel this upcoming episode is really going to highlight the difference between the show and then novel in terms of several storylines. Because one thing I think has really been pushing me away from a lot of the story beat takes are how some are analyzing these characters as if they were the same as their characters in the novels. I have a hard time relating because having not read the novel, I find myself absorbing these show characters at face value without the book spoilers. So my interpretation of some of these characters are so different from the norm. I see them as more flawed and selfishly human, and I love that, but the fluff peices I read so often have preconceptions from the novels that I just nod my head intriguly and move on. But let me know if you're interested in my non valid take,ha.
Anyway, my point is that though the director is following the cliff notes of the novels, I belive he did state he wanted to make it his own story and his own characters, correct me if I'm wrong. So I truly believe this upcoming episode should start to show hints on how the show deviates regarding the direction of characters and where the story will take them in comparison to the books. We'll find out in a few I suppose. Looking forward to the kinnporche couple love story and all the other upcoming controversial love stories as well because as others have said, this is a mafia show but it is also a boy love show so it all about soul mates and such. Happy watching to us all.
Spencer's plan was to wait and hope Esme was feeling chatty. The only reason there's any movement in his plan in the first place is because of Cameron. And Cameron doesn't have the patience to watch Trina suffer. He's the that told Spencer to search Esme's things and then put an act in front of her in case she decides to confide in him. And now that Esme got the clue from Ryan that Spencer is unto her, he definitely needed to change up his strategy. The only other way to show Spencer's smarts in this whole thing would be if he picks up the fact that Esme's knows that he knows she made the tape, so he can play into that if he digs into his Cassadine roots.
The first smart thing he did was spilling to Sam, a P.I., who actually has the skill and connections to follow through on investigating Esme. Cause bottom line, getting solid proof is what speeds up her confession.
I had some problems with some of Michael's reasoning for cutting Sonny out which mainly deal with Michael now having a problem with "the business." But I am definitely not team Sonny on this at all and that mainly has to do with the narrative that Sonny is now a changed or better non-violent man trying to make amends. I call BS and think it's interesting that both the characters on the show and the Sonny sympathizers are under false pretenses that Sonny is mainly "Mike" now after returning from Nixon Falls. Did we not just see Sonny bail those robbers from Charlie's out of jail and slyly gloated to Laura and Nina that he took care of them, much to Sasha dismay? That sounds like classic Sonny to me, who seems to be relishing getting his groove back as the Don of Port Charles.
Sonny’s schtick right now is he wants everyone to forget what Nina has done to him and his family but also wants them to accept that she’s this new important and significant presence in his life. In every confrontation he has with his family, the minute anyone says anything negative about Nina, he immediately accuses them of not respecting his life and privacy and shuts down on them emotionally.
He did the same with Dante today and poor Dante was trying so so hard to be honest and straightforward with Sonny, as well as trying to keep the peace. And of course, Brando, who is eager to please Sonny, tells him he’s cool with his relationship with Nina and that his sons were wrong. You could literally see the transition of Sonny looking at Brando like his new prodigal son. And Brando giving him that head nod back in acceptance.
Until we get more info, Spencer plan just seems to be 'Be mean to Trina to protects her, and appease Esme so she lets her guard down.' Which doesn't seem like a well thought out plan to me and after everything she's done, I feel they might be underestimating Esme. I just don't want them to get played by her at their own game. I would have so preferred to see Spencer and Nik actually working together to take down Esme, it would have shown them genuinely reconnecting as father and son as well as made us root more for them as partners to Trina and Ava.
Yup, I still feel the same about Spencer even after knowing he has a plan. It’s the most ‘basic’ plan too and I don’t understand why he’s getting a pat on the back for it. As if all the hurt, shame, and self-doubt Trina is currently experiencing doesn’t count. Especially since his ‘plan’ is still going to include accusing her of a crime she didn’t commit, while he appeases Esme for the time being. Nah, am I gonna have to sit here and watch Trina be weak for Spencer instead of getting support from Rory?
And I just KNOW when Esme’s scheme gets exposed from Spencer’s ‘plan,’ he’s gonna be so proud of himself and expect Trina to forgive and take him back like all the shit he put her through meant nothing. If Sprina is the story, please just don’t make my girl Trina the pathetic girl who always takes back the f*boy, no matter how he treats her.
