“oh. no worries.” nala laughed. “it’s an animation set up with five different slides already installed in the microscopes, no live samples of course. . .nothing that can harm you.”

“you won? that’s great!” tyler nodded, “sure, is it gonna make me wanna throw up?”
nala beamed when her friend congratulated her. “well i sure hope it doesn’t make you wanna throw up, but maybe brace yourself just in case?”
“ i won the science fair with my interactive parasite exhibit...wanna see? “

“no you goof, it’s trapped in the slide.”

“i may be dumb, but i’m not that dumb!” she laughed softly, putting her hand back down. “the stitches looked hella cool though, it was just like… sewing.”
“you’re not dumb at all.” nala protested with a tilt of her head. “oh yuck! c’mon, don’t tell me that, it’s not a pleasant image and is making me quite sick.”

“do you only analyze parasites? or do you look at other things? for your hobby.” ellie asked, genuinely interested in the answer. she had never met someone who had an interest like hers, so she was fascinated. “what’s that? is it bad? can i see it?”
“mostly parasites, but i like to look at microbiology in general. parasites are just the most interesting branch.” she told her. “it’s a kind of roundworm, baylisascaris to be exact. it’s super bad when it gets in humans but also super rare.” nala was happy to give her information, most people don’t care to ask. “sure! it’s a live sample, so don’t be alarmed if it’s moving.”

eyebrows were raised at the word church, bella had hardly noticed where she was, but entered anyways. “thanks.”
nala nodded as the girl thanked her. “are you alright? do you need me to call the police?”

“dangerous to humans? yes, if ingested.” she nodded. “it’s a raccoon roundworm.”

“Honestly, that heart filter on snapchat is how I feel about buffy summers, and faith lehane, two badass queens. i think i’ve been watching buffy all day.”
