Mya Baratheon | 29 | Unmarried | TAKEN | Kate Bracken
Mya Stone is the oldest bastard daughter of Robert Baratheon and a whore from the Vale. Mya spent the first few years of her childhood in the brothel but Robert was able to procure her a position in the keep at Eyrie when she was seven years old. Robert made sure his daughter was educated and she learned how to read and be a proper lady. At one point, Mya believed she was going to marry Ser Mychel Redfort and she believed that she was in love with him. After he married another, she wrote her father and asked that she be able to join him in Stormās End. Robert brought Mya home to work in the keep and to learn beside his children but Marie would not stand for it and demanded that Mya be sent elsewhere. Robert was able to find his daughter employment in the Red Keep with the help of Eddard Stark and she became an apprentice to the royal seamstress.
Robert visited Mya quite often as a child until he was married, then his visits became more sporadic. They had an affectionate relationship before his death and Mya sent her father ravens frequently and Robert sent her coins and presents when he could. Mya has gone out of her way to earn her fatherās favor, learning archery although she much prefers to read or sew in the gardens. She has no relationship with her mother and has not been in contact with her since she left the brothel. Mya, like her father, is quick for a joke and her charm is known to turn her enemies into friends within minutes. She is a woman scorned and tends to throw herself into her work then to focus on the men, unlike most of the servant girls in the castle. Most people in the castle know that she is Robert Baratheonās bastard daughter and she does not bother to hide it, proud of her Baratheon heritage and her father.
When the war broke out, Robert took her from the capital back to Stormās End with him, despite Marieās protests. With the war being against the crown, the capital was a dangerous place. To make up for the discomfort cause to Marie, Mya continued to sew dressed and other things while she was in Stormās End and did whatever Marie asked of her While she didnāt outright care what Marie thought, she didnāt want to be on the womanās bad side.
When the war ended, Mya returned to the capital. Robert told her she was welcome to stay in Stormās End, but Mya was uncomfortable under Marieās watchful eye and felt much better in Kingās Landing.
When the War against the Others was announced, Mya was somewhat concerned about her fatherās well-being, but within months she heard that he had returned to Stormās End and had survived, though he had been injured. She worried for him when he became bedridden due to illness as well and we worries were well founded, as he died long later, but only after making it clear that he wanted Mya to be legitimized as a Baratheon, to which King Aegon made happen.
Her legitimizationāand her long time apprenticeship ship with the Royal Seamstressāgave way to her taking over the position when the previous one stepped down. Even so, she decided to leave the city for a time and visit her half-brother Orys, now Lord of the Stormlands, and his wife and children. Her intention was partially to celebrate her legitimization with all her siblings, but also to get out of town and clear her head.Ā
During her time in the capital, she had a close relationship with Quentyn Martell, but it almost seemed as if he were playing with her, as when he returned to Dorne, he had no interested in taking her with him. Though heartbroken, she has a tiny shred of hope, and still sends him letters sometimes.Ā
