how to do worldbuilding
okay so i just figured out something to write the base of a world that made sense and i thought i'd share it here :))
1/ small recap and how it fits in your story
2/ building with stats : where is it, how many people are there, basic history, basic geography, basic stats
3/ politics : current politics, overall politics, what type of system is there, is there a hierarchy are people fine with it
4/ education + beliefs : school program, universities, grading methods, subjects taught, religion
5/ food : how they get food, traditional food, if a lot of people are vegetarian, what type of restaurants are there
6/ diseases and medicine : therapists, surgeries, allergies, pharmacies, bacteria, vaccines, disabilities, gender affirming care
7/ art : people’s views on art, artists, art as a job, types of art, do a lot of people make art, is it important
8/ currency : if they use money, if yes what’s the name of the currency, if not what do they use, do they exchange or donate
9/ clothing : trends, styles, gender non conforming people, culture, beauty, makeup, high fashion
10/ traditions : traditions and beliefs people have, festivals and special days, if people celebrate things like Christmas or Halloween
11/ minorities : discrimination due to differences in gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, race, ethnicity, class, species, etc
12/ important places : the ones we’re actually going to see in your story, basic info or specific things about them
13/ if needed, magic system : how it works, how people get magic, are they expected to do things with magic, what magic is
14/ other notes : little details and stuff you can’t say in other sections because it doesn’t fit
