The main point I took away from these two videos is Tyler uses "Confidence" and "Talent" to hide his insecurities and that got me thinking, do you know who else did that? Me. at 13. three (almost four) years ago I was experimenting with my gender, sexual identity, and loads of other stuff. I was the president of the GSA and my school was pretty progressive, unfortunately some of the guys at the school weren't and used to call me chopped or mid. I used the same methods Tyler's using of thirsttrap-esque photos on my Instagram because I felt I had something to prove, and when that didn't work I hid behind my mental health. Additionally much like Tyler I also sing and do handwork crafts like knitting. There was a time where I thought that I was the best at everything singing related, and then I got very quickly humbled when I lost my voice to a really bad cold and basically had to start from scratch on a new piece I had been working on for months (Not really the same as being hit by a car, but we both lost our voices) . My entire issue with Tyler's singing isn't that it's bad, it's actually quite nice, it's just a bit boring and theater kid like, and as Phantoy pointed out in their video, when you're an artist you need to step back and look at your art work before you ever decide to post publicly, but when you're arrogant and haughty about everything you do it doesn't come off as confident, it comes off as conceited and rude. In fact this might be a bit of a weird thing; I like criticism, professionally and kindly of course, but I find that critiques from my parents, peers, family, and teachers help me grow as an individual in arts and in life. Tyler doesn't accept criticism that isn't praise, I've seen some of his videos and all I see are defenses for (quite frankly) mediocre art with not even acrylic paint APPLE BARREL CRAFT PAINT, and it's a but disingenuous to be selling cheaply made paintings for the price of a house. Finally I don't condone bullying of trans people. Tyler is a man and I will not tolerate any misgendering in my comments. I know in the past he has stated that he stopped taking testosterone (please don't quote me on this) that doesn't mean that people should unearth Pre-transition photos of him and leak them. You all are sick for that, and need to touch grass. Overall, I think he's just an insecure guy who's parasocial and needs support from people. I think a lack of peers and only talking to tumblr and tiktok users really fucks with your head and he too needs to touch grass. kk byeeeeee
