Summary

Another one of those "Yugi can't let go of Atem and time travels to Ancient Egypt, where they meet again" fics. Because I was itching to write one myself.

After risking his professional career by entering Atem's re-sealed tomb, Yugi finds the mummified remains of his former other self. Traumatized and slightly out of his mind, he spends the night in the tomb and eventually falls asleep. When he wakes up, the tomb has changed, and Yugi finds himself in the past. He tries to think of a way to get into the palace in order to find Atem and everything spirals from there.

As for Atem, he's struggling to figure out if he made it to the afterlife or if he's finally allowed to live a peaceful life for once.

(Hoestly, this could probably be rated T, I'm just paranoid about the death and mummy stuff)

Summary:

Yugi's life had always been pretty normal. The only thing not quite normal were his missing memories of two of his high school years. And maybe the fact that he could read hieroglyphs as if they were written in his native language. And there was the issue that he never looked quite like himself on these old recordings of his tournament duels. Either way, all of this was still pretty damn normal compared to suddenly being separated from his study group, finding himself in the middle of the desert, only to get abducted by slave traders, just because he touched some pendant! When he took the gamble of trusting that strangely familiar Yami, he had hoped to not end up in an even worse situation, true, but he also hadn't expected to find a lost bond and a love so deep it left him feeling stunned and breathless. Or: Yugi suffers from severe separation trauma caused by Atem leaving after their ceremonial duel, making him forget all about his other self. Unrelated to that, he finds himself transported to and enslaved in Ancient Egypt. But as always, Atem has his back. And turns his life around entirely.
