“What’s given to dunya is lost. What’s given to Allah is never lost. If you give what you love, for the sake of what He loves, you’ll have what you love forever.”
— Yasmin Mogahed
If you refuse to leave something wrong for the fear of ‘losing out’ on your happiness, you have doubted in His Power to replace it with something that is much better and comforting for you in this world and the next.

gentle reminder: you are very capable and I’m excited for your future
slightly less gentle reminder: you do have to work for it

take care of yourself, okay?
Dear Gen-Z & Millenials,
You may have been born with information at your fingertips, but don't be fooled to think that you're necessarily better "informed" than others.
Those that have come before you have lived lifetimes because they didn't have the conveniences you do now and they actually had to learn the hard way. Their lived experiences make them vessels of wisdom. So, never think you're better than or smarter than your elders just because you may be faster than them. Be humble, appreciate them, and learn from them.
And remember, Iblis was once the most "knowledgeable of all the jinn and the angels," and he's made of fire and can move freely everywhere he wants. But he's also destined for eternal damnation. He's deluded and likes to delude others with grandiosity. Stay clear of such ideas and look to the Beloved ﷺ who was also the "Unlettered Prophet," and the "Universal Prophet." His life experiences and his HUMILITY before God and His creation make him the MOST superior and intelligent of all of God's creation.

Dear Generation X & Above,
You may have had a lot of challenges and difficulties that the current generation don't have, but don't be fooled to think that they don't know what struggles are.
Have you seen the world they've inherited? Have you seen the corruption, the disparity, the stress, the pressures, and the constant anxiety over the future? Have you seen the crisis of knowledge, of identity, and of faith that they are in the midst of?
It is because of you and the ones ahead of you that they are now tasked with the impossible--to try to save the planet that's pretty much on fire, AND to save humanity from itself! When there is so much widespread corruption, oppression, and suffering throughout the world, while resources are threatened and people have lost the will to survive, how can you suggest they don't know suffering?
They've inherited a cold robotic automated world where people don't even know how to be with one another and express basic human emotions like love and intimacy. And yet you think they have it easy because their life is full of conveniences that you didn't have at their age. Some of those conveniences come with HEAVY price tags, like mental health, a fractured self-image, dysfunctional relationships, enormous debt, etc.
So be humble and stop assuming that you have all the answers or you're the only one who knows what struggles are. You were spared much of the pain and heartache that they experience every day. Be grateful for that and keep them in your duas instead of looking down on them with contempt!
----
Humility is something we all need steady and heaping doses of. May Allah ﷻ humble us to stop thinking we're better than anyone and appreciate the gift of existence without feeling the need to slight others who exist with us. Amin. <3

Give yourself more credit on all that you do, even the little and seemingly insignificant accomplishments in life. You are doing such a good job of being you :))
