My sister and I thank you all for your very thoughtful messages of condolence. Our mother was a fighter until the end when her brave, loving heart gave out. She is survived by her sister, her daughters, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She made a difference.

There weren't many Marines left after the 77 day battle of Khe Sanh, the Viet Nam war's most infamous siege in 1968. In 2004, a small group of them came to Rolling Thunder and gave me this jacket. I'd like to find these Khe Sanh guys and I need your help. I never knew their names

It’s always good to remember our troops and how difficult it was and is for them. It’s sad that we still have to have people in harm’s way around the world and I ache for their families who keep that awful vigil while they wait at home, wondering and praying every day and every night.

“The song, ‘Home,’ written by Mac Davis during the Viet Nam War sadly still applies today.

I Love Them All (The Boys In The Band) is one of my favorites of my recordings. I performed it on The Ed Sullivan Show and they brought in a marching band for an added instrumental interlude, which was choreographed by my late husband, Hugh Lambert. It went from a park-like setting with a gazebo to the marching band. It was quite a production. The idea was to make the innocence play against the lyrics of the song. It was fun to do.
