Writing compilation!
Exactly what the title promises: I'm making a compilation of all writing stuff I'm posting here so they are easier to find. I'll keep adding fandoms and fics as I post them.
Edit: So, I'm thinking about posting some original work here too, so the post is now called writing compilation ❤️.
Edit 2: Hi! Me again! So, I step in real quick to tell you that now you can read my work on AO3! Same user as here, naomifj97.
Dragon Age
Mostly Alistair x Oriana Tabris, one of my Wardens, but some other characters will eventually step on here to say hi (probably).
Wild: Character study, love letter to a Tabris, Alistair x The Warden if you squint. 2k oneshot.
“If you take a walk around the Denerim Alienage and ask about Cyrion’s daughter, everyone will tell you that Oriana Tabris is wild. She has that fierceness that cannot be tamed no matter how hard anyone tries. Elders say she inherited it from her mother.”
Or: Oriana in the eyes of the people who watched her grow from child to woman.
Newbie: Alistair and Oriana, a first meeting featuring two dorks joking and a very angry mage. 1k oneshot.
"—I’m Oriana. The newbie."
Or: After arriving at Ostagar, Oriana meets Alistair.
A lamppost in winter: Alistair and Oriana, featuring awkward flirting and slowly falling in love with your fellow companion. 2k oneshot.
"—Have you ever licked a lamppost in winter?
Or: Alistair tries to mock Oriana.
Vigil's Keep: Alistair x the Warden reuniting in Vigil's Keep, yearning, angst and a huge headcanon. Set in Awakening. Around 1k-2k words.
"—It’s Commander now, Your Majesty.”
Or: After the attack on Vigil’s Keep, Alistair and Oriana reunite for the first time since the slaying of the Archdemon.
Details: Alistair and Oriana bond over a deeply personal conversation near the fire of the camp, featuring hurt, comfort and the tale of a Tabris' Origin. Around 4k words.
"—Duncan didn’t get to tell you the details about my Conscription, didn’t he?”
Or: After Alistair notices a wedding ring in Oriana’s chain, a conversation at camp ensures.
Eyes: Oriana ends the Blight. Warden-centric, quite short one-shot (around 1k words), all companions make a brief appareance, and Alistair doesn't make it to the top of Fort Drakon in time. Featuring hurt, angst, and apparent death of main character (apparent being key word here).
“She stares at the eyes of that creature and sees herself in them: a wounded, dying, tainted thing, scarred beyond repair.
She knows she’s going to die, but she does it anyway.”
Or: Oriana slays the Archdemon.
Fading: Alistair reaches Oriana after she slays the Archdemon. Immediate sequel to Eyes. Alistair x the Warden, 2k one-shot that follows the aftermath of the Battle of Denerim, when Oriana should be dead but it's not and Alistair holds onto her for dear life. Hurt and angst through the way, but the ending is not quite heartbreaking as one would expect.
“—She’s fading fast.
He knows that. He can feel her slipping away from his fingers, her breathing even and her pulse weak against his neck. But he has to hope.”
Or: Alistair reaches Wynne after the Battle of Denerim, with a dying Oriana in his arms.
Lace: Alistair, Oriana, and the story of their relationship through a leather lace. Alistair x The Warden 2k oneshot featuring heavy headcanons, a happy and hopeful ending for once and two idiots flirting (or, at least, trying to). Shamelessly cheesy, comfort and a bit of hurt, but it's worth it.
“—You still wear it?
They both know that’s not the question she’s asking. It doesn’t matter. The answer is still yes.”
Or: Grey Warden Alistair stole the leather lace Oriana used to wear on her wrist all the time, tying it over his own.
King Alistair still wears it.
I've been waiting for you: Oriana gives birth to Kieran. Technically Alistair x The Warden, but it also has a childbirth, mother-son bonding and fears and heavily features a friendship between the Warden and Morrigan, Leliana and Zevran. Also, Alistair knows something is up but can't really put his finger on what.
“This is a nightmare. This is not happening. Not so soon, not like this.”
Or: Six months after the end of the Blight and eight since her last moment of intimacy with Alistair, Oriana gives birth to Kieran. At the same time, the King dreams with the crying of a baby in the depths of the Fade.
The Owl House
It's nice to have a friend: Amity Blight had forgotten what having a friend was until Luz Noceda arrived at the Isles. 3k Lumity oneshot, a songfic inspired by "It's nice to have a friend" by Taylor Swift, featuring "Friends", two girls in love, canon compilant until "Knock, knock, knockin' on Hooty's door".
"Amity has only been to the Owl House once, after almost turning Willow’s brain into abomination goo. She knows she should say no, knows she has too much to do, too much schoolwork to catch on.
But she doesn’t want to go home, and Eda’s house has something welcoming in between all that havoc of messiness, and Luz is kind, and funny, and Amity would have never guessed it, but she enjoys the human’s company.
So, she accepts."
Mass Effect
Hoping and wishing: Garrus refuses to believe Shepard is dead. And Shepard, in typical Shepard way, refuses to be dead.
"Garrus is a sniper. He knows about waiting." Shepard makes a choice in the Crucible that should’ve cost her life. But also should have suffocating in the depths of her spacesuit and falling off from a planet’s atmosphere like a falling star. Or: In which Commander “I don’t die easily cause I’m pretty much immortal at this point” Shepard refuses to leave and Garrus hopes that’s enough for them.
Poems:
What I've learnt about family:
I’ve learnt you can’t trust in azar.
Sisterhood:
I'm proud of her
Because she's everything I never dared to be
Heroes and villains
Sometimes I wish I were a villain
