Naptown Roller Girls

We are a league made up of great skaters, volunteers, referees, sponsors, fans, and friends who have all devoted their time, talents, energy, and efforts to help bring flat-track roller derby to the Circle City—and we’re not talking about roller derby of old. Forget the fights and flash. What we wish to introduce to you is about athleticism and skill—it’s the coolest sport there ever was for women.

Naptown is heading into D1 playoffs in the #22 spot and we're giving you the opportunity to learn directly from some of our skaters. Join Maiden America (on her birthday) and a few of the other Tornado Sirens on Saturday, August 30th for a 6 hour workshop at our Lair. Fun Times will be had!

JRDA Champs/Olympics & USARS Derby Nationals | Derby Central

JRDA worked with USARS this year to put on their Championships (and Jr. Olympics) the same week that USARS was holding theirs for various sports.

Congrats to my former junior league, Seattle Derby Brats, for winning the JRDA title for the second year in a row, and to all my NW derby sisters who won gold in the Olympics!

Roller derby has been a sport long dominated by women. We hung out with local team the New York Shock Exchange to see what the deal is.

Well will you look at that: After a very vocal backlash from the actual roller derby community, Vice actually changed the original (terrible) headline of their otherwise pretty OK article about men’s derby. Retraction statement in the article, if you’re curious.

Basically, stop equating “having balls” both with “being a man” and being somehow more bad ass / brave. Neither things are true.
