“ ah, come on, rella.” sammy scoffed. “ not all moments, man. there’s gotta be some moments you, like, cherish and stuff, ya know ?? ”
narella made a face. “not really.” she shrugged. “need i remind you that i’ve been away from this so-called ‘ohana’ for the past few years? no one at home gives a shit about me. so, why should i about them?”
kirsa pouted, picking up the empty bottle. “it’s gotten more popular since we got a lot of pirates roamin’ the place –” she squinted up at the top shelf of the liquor cabinet. “is that one there…?”
narella groaned, rolling her eyes in annoyance ( though it was directed at the empty bottle as opposed to kirsa ). “the damn pirate,” she muttered, standing on her tip-toes to look up at the top shelf. “i can’t ... fucking see ...” she grumbled, frowning and looking around for something to stand on.

narella syn was cold, hard, and cruel. she was a world-class con artist, and she had never cared about anyone. it was how she lived. it was her way of life. she had never expected it to change.
then, though, she arrived in auradon.
what she thought would simply be an opportunity to steal from her world’s wealthiest turned into something much, much more intense.
it all started with a text message, her wanting to rob a place, and that was all she had expected it to be. flash forward a few months and, suddenly, she was agreeing to go to a dance with him. it was all just for fun, though, or that was what she liked to tell herself, at least. she’d agreed to steal jewelry with him, really, but she couldn’t help but have felt even more excited about the dance once they’d agreed not to steal anything from anyone.
flash forward another two months and she would find herself in the middle of a jewelry heist. she would flirt her way through the doors, as she always did. this time, though, it felt wrong. she felt some pit in her stomach that was telling her not to flirt with this guy, that this guy was not who she wanted to be flirting with.
she slipped through the doors with a forced smile, but the pit in her stomach wouldn’t leave. she tried to ignore it, tried to focus on something else.
she caught sight of a guy in a tuxedo and she swore it was him.
she clenched her fists at her sides, shaking her head in a desperate attempt to get him out of her mind, but it was to no avail.
this boy, this ghost --- he had made his way into her thoughts and she didn’t know how to get him out. he ran through her mind like a stray cat would run across the street; back, forth, back, forth. again and again and again.
he was always on her mind, and she really didn’t mind.
Warren drew closer to Narella, slipping his hand into her’s in the process. “Well what you say we do it soon? Like this weekend perhaps?” he questioned with a soft glint in his eyes.
narella looked down at their hands, then up at warren. she looked down as her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. “this weekend is perfect,” she hummed softly. “does saturday work for you? i’ve got class til’ late on friday.” she made a face.
“And here, I complimented you,” Karp barked. The Russian accent that was always reminiscent in his voice sharpened his tone. Not that it would help. “It’s not a flaw when it’s an insult, Narella, and you seem to only insult me. Is it because I can see your abandonment plain and clear?”
“if you call that a compliment, i hate to think how you talk to jacinta,” narella spat, voice filled with malice. “it’s not my fault that there’s nothing to compliment you on, karp.” she didn’t comment on his last remark, simply gritting her teeth together in frustration.
“Well i’d like to think the same about myself.” he chimed a cocky grin on his face. “But seriously, if you ever want to go out again just let me know…that is if you would like.” he added in, hoping not to sound too desperate.
she laughed softly, nodding slightly. “yeah, i’d ...” she paused, smiling softly. “i would love to go out with you again, warren. really.”
@magikaaarp said: ❝ there’s a thin line between love and hate. maybe you’re confusing your emotions. ❞
“you know, the line really isn’t that thin. you see, i love jaci, eivui, polly --- all of them, but i hate you. i know exactly what i’m talking about.”
jacinta stared at herself in the mirror, posing in various ways that showed off the new necklace. “it’s beautiful!” she said with a grin. “though aren’t you the best alien in town?”
narella laughed a bit as her friend posed. “then, it’s yours,” she said, smiling. “hmm. well, i’m definitely one of the best. but i still think you hold that title. i’ll settle for second best.”
The ghosts smile softened as he heard her words. “I’m really glad that you are as well.’ he admitted. Warren tried his hardest not to grin like an idiot but he ultimately failed. “Did you now? Well so did I.” he said, moving in closer.
she smiled softly, though it was short-lived. she had a reputation keep up, after all. she replaced the smile with a bit of a smirk, nodding slightly. “yeah, i did,” she said, genuinely. “and, i mean, obviously. i’m a joy to be around.” she gave a light laugh.
narella smiled as she clasped the newly-stolen diamond necklace around jacinta’s neck. “see? beautiful!” she exclaimed, admiring the jewels on her friend. “fit for the best alien in town, couldn’t imagine it on anyone else.” she grinned.
Isadora was walking out of the store, a few bags in hand. She had purchased ingredients to make gumbo, but the grocer didn’t have any of the spices she needed. Specifically, gumbo file powder. Isadora had driven her car to Auradon, driving all the way from New Orleans. Maybe she should give her mother a call? Tiana was probably busy with the restaurant and Isadora couldn’t call her father. He tended to want to chit chat instead of help and even though she loved her father, Isadora needed help with the gumbo recipe. Lost in her thoughts she bumped into someone and dropped her bag of canned goods, “Excuse me sugar, I was not paying attention.”

narella had just stolen a necklace from a jewelry stole, so it was needless to say that the alien girl was in a bit of a chipper mood. she walked with her head held high, the diamond necklace carefully tucked into the frount pouch of her backpack. “too easy, too easy --” she hummed, though came ot an abrupt stop upon running into the girl. “oh --- hey, pay more attention when walking, alright?” still, she leaned down to pick up the girl’s bag and held it out for her to take back.
He only listened, not saying anything until she was done speaking. He couldn’t necessarily relate. He had never had to worry about anyone aside from himself before. Even his friends from the mansion were, well dead so there was never any real danger they had to face. “Well I hope she’s doing okay.” he told her gently. He chuckled and shook his head in response. “I’m doing alright. There’s not much that fazes me anymore.” he admitted.
“she’s doing fine,” she answered quickly, shrugging slightly. narella assumed that eivui was with that boy of hers, and as the older alien disapproved, at least the tiny girl wasn’t alone. “i feel you on that. i’m glad you’re alright, though.” she smiled up at him. “you know, before the whole ... ursula thing happened ... i had a really nice time with you at the dance.”
Warren had not been fazed by the whole Ursula situation. He had remained most of his undead life in a mansion with plenty of mischievous ghosts so chaos was something he was used to. Still, he worried how Narella had been taking everything and had decided to check up on her. Approaching her, he shot her a charming yet surprisingly gentle smile her way. “Hey, beautiful. You doing alright?” he asked as he sat beside her.
narella hadn’t really been upset over the chaos. everyone in her ohana was alright, and that was what mattered to her. everyone else? she couldn’t have cared less --- almost. as much as she tried to ignore it, she couldn’t help but worry about warren, and so, when she saw him walking her way, she couldn’t help but feel relieved.
“hey,” she said, voice softer than usual. “yeah, i’m doing ... okay.” she sighed before continuing, “one of my sorta-sisters is in the hospital, but she’s fine, so i’m fine --- just a bit worried, i guess.” she looked up at him. “how about you? you doing okay?”
