Lost Time Memory | Takane & Konoha
It didn’t take long before the girl responded to his words, but her shaky voice had no intention of relating to the question he had asked of her. At least he assumed that to be the case. His immediate thought would be that ‘Haruka’ answered his inquiry, but the questioning tone of voice had shot down that line of thought quickly. Now Konoha was just even more confused. Who was ‘Haruka’? Who was this girl? And why did she look so shaken from merely entering the room and catching a glimpse of him?
Instead of explaining anything to him however, the girl’s whole attitude changed completely, and Konoha’s mind soon came to identify the emotion she was showing: ‘anger’. A single word popping up in his mind, a word that he felt unable to recognise, and yet he was somehow able to tell: this had to be an emotion called ‘anger’. But that was a bad thing, right? He had… upset her? Unsure of what was actually going on and how he had managed to set her off like that, the boy’s otherwise expressionless face carried an almost unnoticeable glimpse of meekness and vague timidness. Right now he was barely aware of anything regarding himself or the world, but he did know one thing - he did not at all enjoy being exposed to this strong negative emotion.
For now he would have to get her to calm down again one way or another; that would probably be the best. “I’m Konoha,” he answered the question even though he had technically been the one to ask about her name first. Although no one had yet to confirm his identity to him, Konoha felt that there couldn’t be much doubt about this. When he had looked in the mirror that was the word that had popped up in his mind to put a name to the reflected form. His form. As for anything beside that… “I’m sorry… but I don’t know.” he began explaining in his monotone and slow voice. What he was doing here or even where ‘here’ was, was still a complete mystery to him.
"Guy? Assigned?" Both words were said with a genuinely curious tilt of the head. If it was about the person who had originally been in that bed it could only be one. "Ah…!" Realising, the albino boy pointed a finger at himself. "I was the person in that bed." How good, he had been able to answer her concerns! Now she would be returning to normal and stop being angry, right? The thought of that being the case gave a warm tinge inside Konoha’s chest.
{ ♫ }—; It wasn't rare for Takane to get irritated by other people, however this meeting was different. As soon as she saw a stranger in this room, she felt empty. Following that emptiness, came anger. Seeing Haruka missing only fuelled that anger. Even though she was furious, Takane didn't understand why. This guy was just, here. He could have been friends with Haruka for all she knew. Coming to visit a friend wasn't odd, she had the same intention. That didn't cross her mind. It didn't seem like that was the case anyways, the white haired boy looked a little out of it. As if he didn't know what was going on. To her, he was a stranger. A stranger who looked just a little familiar... No more than a little. He didn't just resemble Haruka there had to be something else. Takane had definitely seen him somewhere, but where?
{ ♫ }—; Not knowing any of the answers to her own questions irritated her. Seeing that confused expression on this guys didn't help in the slightest. He was hesitating in answering any of her questions, did he even know the answers? Let alone his own name. Finally the other spoke again. Certainly took long enough. When the name he claimed slipped out of his mouth Takane's eyes widened. She could feel the tears forming at the corner of her eyes. D-Did he say... Konoha..? She asked herself, trying to wrap her head around the idea of that being his name. She felt her body tremble more than it had been before. His voice echoed in her head. Haruka and Takane had decided on their online handles. Haruka was inspired hearing about her own handle as 'Ene' and wanted to create his own. Using parts of both his first and last name, he came up with the handle 'Konoha'. Why was this person's name Konoha? Clenching her fists into balls hard enough they hurt from her nails digging into her skin she spoke again. "What the hell kind of joke is that!?" Was this guy getting a kick from this? He had the guts to lie like that. However, to Takane's memory... It was only the two of them who talked about those names, right?
{ ♫ }—; Come to think of it, this boy looked exactly like the character 'Konoha' Haruka had designed for a game. Identical even. Takane was on the verge of tears, though her anger would break through that barrier. Dammit. Dammit! Dammit!! Why was she getting so emotional? Takane didn't even know what she was feeling right now. Anger, emptiness, confusion... or sad? Maybe it was just a mix of them all. Clenching her teeth again she shot a glare at the other. "What do you mean you don't know-!? You can't not know why you were here!! You came here for a reason, so what was it!?" Yelling wasn't going to get her anywhere, but she didn't know what else to do.
{ ♫ }—; Even now, this lying fake still had such a lost expression on his face. With a rough sigh she tried to explain more clearly, it didn't look like the other was getting the message. "Yeah. Someone important to me had been assigned this room. I'd appreciate it if you tell me where he is. And you better figure out why you came here or I'm going to get irritated." Although the volume from before had decreased, by the tone of her voice you could tell her temper was still at it's peak. Finally it seemed like this absent minded person had an answer.
I was the person in that bed
{ ♫ }—; "..." Speechless. No words could even pass through her mind. Everything just stopped. Suddenly a laugh came from the petite girl. However it was not a laugh filled with joy the way a laugh should be. It was... Broken. "You must think you're just hilarious, huh?" A paused. Shooting another glare to the male, this one far more furious than any of the previous one's. "Do I look like an idiot?" Telling her such an obvious lie, how could he... How could anyone even have the guts to straight up lie like that? "You better cut it with the jokes before I get serious."
It was cruel.
