Showed up to catch Paikiller and another person showed up, then when they caught theirs they said good luck, showered me in flower petals, and tp’ed. but that cast I happened to be on when he left was the fish!! So it really felt like it worked :D

I beat an npc in triple triad thirteen times and he didn’t give me a single card!!! I had to quit because I had to leave!

Turns out my technique didn’t really need surface slap, just the nice timing data from teamcraft but whatever!!

Just went ocean fishing and got the Mossasaurus minion and hit 71, which means I got Surface Slap! Say your prayers, ARR big fish!!! I'm gonna go ham!!

Hello Again!

Welcome back to this blog, which used to be called Sinineva and Friends. I stopped playing GW2 when FFXIV:ARR came out in 2013, and it became my favorite game for a long time. I actually had to quit from ~2016 until now because I had developed chronic pain which made me unable to play games or draw, or do my work, or... basically anything fun or useful.

Flash forward to today, I can draw again, I'm getting my energy back (no job still), and the recent 2-week free login period let me try out FFXIV again for free. And I was able to do a little bit! It was so relaxing that I found it very helpful for my anxiety. I'm going to get back to it once I have a way of earning money.

But let me introduce my main #1 baby.

So the FFXIV art contest finalists were announced, and I didn't make it, but here's what I submitted!

It's about my journey beginning playing FFXIV in 2.0, then becoming injured and being unable to do my work, hobbies, or play. Then by 2023 I was able to recover enough to play again. I decided to show my journey of healing through my Warrior of Light. (It seems like the short description you provided in the application isn't published on the website, so I'm not sure people wouldn't figured out that's what this piece is about, haha)

I tried hard to make the piece feel airy and free, like setting off on a new journey, while trying out new color and composition choices (for me).

Question about the character renaming service.....

I entered the art contest. But, I decided I might change the character who was entered into the form's name before finalists or winners are chosen. Would changing the character's name now affect my ability to receive in-game rewards?

I'm assuming "no" because you also had to input the character's ID number, which doesn't change with their name (I assume!). But I'd like to be more confident.

Secondly and less importantly, would their changed name appear properly in the info for the art if I'm a finalist? (for the voting website etc) Hopefully it's like a dynamic field that just pulls database info in whatever implementation they use but it's possible they finalize the info ahead of the debut or whatever. Maybe they don't even show the character info and just use nickname or something.

It sucks bc I've been thinking about this name change for a while and I'd want it to be reflected in my entry for the contest which I'm very proud of!
