Every time I draw Kakashi i get closer to my vision for the magician. This isnt the style I want to use for the cards but you get the idea

#hes definitely going to be doing chidori in the card bc a friend talks about the magicians #pose being channeling energy and tbh it sticks with me. i think my interpretation is different from hers but i do #like the idea of directing everything the magician card is willfully #so chidori.#and i want his arm up by his face #bc the magician card on my first ever deck is INTENSE like the dude has a defensive and READY posture and is glaring right at you

I haven't abandoned this project, October is a busy month this year, and I want to do some serious studies before I make any real cards. I also kind of want more momentum so I can get feedback on stuff like card size and such. But I WILL hold this deck in my hands if it kills me I swear this project will be done I think about it every day

#im worried he doesnt have enough screentime/development for the nuance of a tarot card #but the imact his character has. he deserves it #id love to have him on a card with haku but i dont want people to assume i intended romance #bc all the two people cards i can think of usually get read as romance #like. i literally refuse to read romance into my spreads bc i do not care about it #but i know other people do #i like two of swords for him off the top of my head tho #at least for how i personally read the card #it strays from the traditional meaning a bit

#i love the concept of temari and Shikamaru as queen and king of swords but Shikamaru simply does not fit king of swords #the only possible spin i can think of for Shikamaru in king of swords reversed is manipulating people via tactics?#but thats not the Vibe TM i get from kos? it feels...more like willful control? control via authority? suppression rather tha manipulation?#i think tobirama fits all general meanings well enough #might keep temari as queen of swords anyway tho #she definitely has the bearing for a queen card and of she belongs in any suit its swords #she can get worked up sometimes but she is first introduced to us as a tactician similar to Shikamaru #and she had the self control to NOT fight her way through a sandstorm even knowing what happened in her home village #she just seems very steady and sharp. queen of swords material #and she definitely can fit the uhh #crueler aspects of the swords #i am partial to the swords but they can be sharp (haha) cards to draw in more ways than one #wands will always be my favorite tho

How do we feel about Neji 8 of swords? My main concern is people leaning too heavily into the "self victimization" interpretation when imo that's not usually what the card means.

#like...it can! but more in the sense that you are having a pity party about your situation and letting yourself fet stuck #but when i look at the card and try to see the ''they did this to themselves'' meaning i come up empty because #theres no way the person on the card could have done that to themselves #so maybe the self victimization comes into play more as being so hopeless you're convinced you cant get out of the situation?#and youre just wallowing in it? turning away help and feeling sorry for yourself?#but that IS after being in such a shitty situation for so long ya know? look at the card. if the person makes any move theyll get hurt :/#idk ive got some Big Feelings about 8 of swords and i dislike the most common interpretation i see #but in making a deck i have to consider the most common interpretation bc thats probably how the card will be read ya know?#but hear me out: 8 of swords neji without his headband after losing to naruto #i think thats a nice turning point for neji to represent both the upright and reversed meanings #naruto #tarot
