all I know is I’ve always carried a more masculine energy, or I’ve filled a more masculine role in people’s lives, my entire life. women have fallen for me, men have been jealous of me or tried to compete with me. my parents treat me more as a son, even if they don’t realize it, than a daughter. people come to me for advice and a level head because I rarely express my emotions, and I’ve been described as an exceedingly private person.

I have a heart etched in stone and a set and heavy brow. I don’t feel much and when I do I know it’s a consequence more of biology than the yearnings of the soul. and yet, I still feel obliged by others to present femininely, to be appear a daughter, a girlfriend, a sister, even though my niche is that of a son, a boyfriend, a brother. it’s a dissonance between what I know to be true, what exists in the space, and what others believe to be true, what is perceived.
