During my formative culinary journey, in many respects, I felt that I was just going through the motions. What I didn't realize, I was growing through setbacks, different trials and tribulations to appreciate not just the journey but the many processes to become what I have needed to become to reach the understanding that it's never only and all about me, myself and I. But it's about sharing the knowledge through mentoring and serving those that have a desire to rise in this amazing craft.

There has been many times over the years where I didn't fully understand how my craft could play such a significant role and a very much needed method of coping, when I reached many dark and uncertain places in my life. It became my metaphorical piano; its art form spoke to me through my creative stages while I may have been grieving the loss of someone or even bouncing back from many of my own demise. I discovered that it is a wonderful antidote for my personal growth and healing. Witnessing myself perform at a high level and raise myself from countless moments of despair and heartache, I owe it all to God almighty for allowing myself to see that Im connected to something greater than self.

It was in this environment, where I would begin the arduous journey😖 of learning🗣 and being mentored by some of the most eclectic and talented chef practitioners that any aspiring chef could hope for; learning and applying the many processes and procedures that would build my character and person💪🏾 every day that I have entered this most amazing and life-changing environment.
It's been because of this wonderful environment that I would discover my purpose and life's work, through the Culinary Arts and Sciences👨🏽🍳, which would include serving and giving unto others unselfishly everyday that I would enter👣. It has been my heart's desire and purpose to inspire hope and change in anyone that would be within my arm's length who could feel the intensity and authenticity in my instruction and leadership.
Seeing the need and importance to effect change in others challenged my resolve daily and I began to see my craft through a different set of "lenses". Believing in others until they believe in themselves more creates a plethora of life-changing pathways and many moments of fulfillment.
To all of the many cooks, pot washers, dishwashers, front of the house people, porters, stewards, chef's, caterers, and foodies everywhere, that I have had the great pleasure of working alongside has been wonderfull.
If I where asked 33 years ago if I would have imagined what my future would be like I would have said I'm not sure probably. Words alone would not come close to describing my joy for my craft, and for how grateful I am for the many who have chosen to pour into me through the years and have challenged me to always work to be better. Each year has been quite fulfilling and most eventful.
