1. What did you think of the format of the class?
I honestly really enjoyed the flow of the class and how it was planned. The only thing I didn’t like was having to go every week to have a conversation with an artist. I thought it was too much work to do because not only did we have to write a few paragraphs we also had to do an activity the same week. It was a lot of writing and it ruined the fun of art. Overall, I really enjoyed doing the activities, I found the create side of me.
2. What did you think of making and presenting your Art Gallery?
The art gallery was very interesting because I got to know about some artist, and I was able to meet new people. The only thing I didn’t like was the website, I feel like a simple google slides will be better since everyone is able to use it all at once. Presenting it was okay, I don’t really mind presenting but overall this project was something nice to do and easy to learn about artist.
3. What did you think of visiting theSOA Art Galleries?
Visiting the SOA art galleries was fun at first and very exciting because it was very interesting knowing the different reasons of why some artist are inspired to do art. I enjoyed looking at art and getting to know upcoming artist from CSULB.
4. What did you think of the weekly art activities?
I really liked doing the week art activities, but it brought out the creative side I thought I never had. I also learned new things I didn’t know before like plastering I didn’t know how it easy it was to do and cheap! It was so convenient doing all this activities and turning it in with just a picture and a brief explanation.
5. What did you think of the 7 ideas about art?
Talking and learning about the 7 Ideas about art in class was cool. It is nice to think about these things in our times and what I noticed was that there as a lot of comparing your time and our time, which there is a lot of difference but also, we are alike but not so much. Doing the activities for it was really eye opening and fun also not to mention took a lot of hard work as in thinking what to do and just getting all my ideas to make sense of what I will be turning in was really hard for me to do.
6. How did you feel about using Tumblr for your blog?
I really enjoyed using Tumblr for my blog because I think it very satisfying to have here just for me to see and others to enjoy my art work. I just loved the idea of posting the assignments here rather than beach board because then we can always come back to them and see what we did. Also, the pictures to have here as memories of what cool things we did in class, I was able to show my work to my parents and let them know what I did for this class.
7. How did you feel about using Wix for your virtual art gallery?
I honestly did not like Wix, I disliked this website because in order to click something you had to press edit then press whatever you wanted to add, I was able to just drag and place. I also didn’t like how only one person was able to edit it at a time. I would recommend using google slides it is easy and very convenient to use.
8. What did you think of using the class website instead of beachboard?
It was very confusing at first because using a website besides beachbaord was different but then I got used to it because the assignment we had to do had visual examples and a good explanation of how to do it.
9. What did you think about having no tests? I don’t just mean “was it cool to not have to take any,” but students use tests to guide their study and participation in a class. Students tend to learn what’s on the test, and to not learn anything that isn’t. Did not having exams make it harder to focus or find importance and relevance in the class?
Honestly having all the weekly assignments made of for it and also all the other activities as well because we still got to learn. We all did the research; we all went to go talk to the artist and we all did our work of arts.
Besides everything else I said, I enjoyed this class. It was straight forward, and I was looking forward for the activities we had each week.
