That was a pleasant surprise, was Haru’s tiredness just a ruse to get Rin to be surprised at this? Or was he thinking too much into it? Either way he wasn’t against it, he was enjoying it really, if that was what Haru wanted then he sure as hell wasn’t objecting to it and the postion they were in, he liked it, it was comfortable and different from how they normally were kissing, this wasn’t a common position anyways, so this was fine and with that his eyes went from surprise to content, to then closed. They didn’t need words. Just actions was enough.

        The more their lips started to move, the more Haru scooted to be on top of Rin. He missed the warmth the shark gave off badly, this was better than simply laying beside him. Arms bending to accommodate his unwillingness to let go of Rin's neck as the kiss continued, Haru's lips were greedy as he also sought more friction from the kiss itself. After seven months apart, he was almost desperate for more.

That headbutt was enough to get him to realize just how tired Haru seemed, so he sighed a bit.

               ”If you’re tired we can go to sleep, Haru.”

Granted its been so long since they had been together, but as greedy as Rin could be, if Haru needed to sleep, well he needed to sleep.

        Haru was tired, yes, but getting to sleep in the same bed as his boyfriend for the first time in forever was more important to him right now. Rolling over enough to be leaning over the redhead, Haru's eyes never opened as he nosed around Rin's face until their lips could get pressed together.

        He knows there won't be much resistance from Rin now.

OK but look how young Haru looks here. Children under 20 can only have passports good for 5 years, so given that Haru is 18 now (it’s mid-August, and his birthday is at the end of June, and he’s a graduating senior—so 18) he is at least 13 in that picture.

That means he got it on or after July after Rin left.

Now why on earth would 13-year-old Haru need a passport? (his father lived elsewhere at the time for business—but still in Japan AFAIK—and he still lived with his mother at the time)

New headcanon: he either got it the summer after Rin left, out of a spur-of-the-moment desire to fly to Australia to see Rin (or “just in case”), maybe after experiencing that great relay with his new teammates/Sousuke and wanting to share it with Rin/see how Rin was doing—

or

He got it after their falling out, another spur-of-the-moment thing where he felt like he ought to go after Rin, to make sure he wasn’t serious, wasn’t really going to quit swimming.

And then eventually chickened out/couldn’t get his parents to agree to it.
