I don't get why they make it so hard to get financial aid

Here I am with great grades (As&Bs) and applying to college. I got into my dream school (Stockton U) and went through all the steps. First FAFSA (which is a pain in the butt ok) and then I got nice grants and decent loans. So I went to accept the loans and BAM there’s more steps. I had to fill out papers/ take tests to accept the loans and sign a paper in order to accept the loans. I thought I was finally done. I was wrong. I then had to give my information to HESAA. After that, they took away one of my grants because apparently mother made too much. She made 51,000 last year and had to take care of my sister, my grandmother, and myself all by herself with no child support from my father. Tell me how that’s “making too much”. So now I can’t afford to go to Stockton because it would just be too much to take on loans. I can’t take out all those loans because I’m afraid I won’t be able to pay them back. I just don’t understand how they could just take back my grant WITHOUT EVEN NOTIFYING ME THEY WERE DOING THAT. I found out when I saw it said “cancelled” in my financial aid tab. I’m so heart broken over this and I just don’t get why they make it so hard to receive financial aid. Rant over.
