//Really, really sorry I’ve been away for so long! Truth be told, I’ve had absolutely zero motivation to RP as of late. Even the thought of writing makes my brain tired. So, I’m not sure if I will ever be coming back.
//Just in case I do, I won’t be deleting this blog. However, consider this an announcement of a semi-permanent hiatus. I’m really sorry to everyone I have threads with.
//This is why I can't bring myself to accept commissions...I've forgotten how to draw things below this area of the body!
this person probably has to study for finals

Have you ever been to Walmart before?
I’m pretty sure I’ve said my thoughts on this exact same post twice now, but this time I’ll just say it here instead of the tags.
In the time that I worked at Walmart, I was absolutely drained of all will to exist. I 1.) learned how not to give a shit and have a panic attack at the same time, 2.) learned how to sleep in the icecream freezer because no one wanted to be in the icecream freezer so I was assured that no one would bother me, and 3.) memorized the trailer for The Swan Princess Christmas. And I was being paid seven dollars an hour to do it. It was that bad. Seeing this post reminds me of the time that I’d seen this happen once. I had clocked out and was about to head home and caught a customer rearranging the $5 DVD bin up in electronics. At first I wanted to see if she needed help finding a certain movie because I’m a pushover like that, but I saw that she had neat little stacks of Home Alone in one pile and Mrs. Doubtfire in another, and I was so mesmerized I had to stand there at a distance, stealth-watching from the toddlers clothes section like I was a church mouse watching Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel. She was probably in her late teens to mid twenties? A messy bun and oversized sweater and a cup from the Subway in the front of the Walmart. I was in my work clothes, hair hidden in my backwards hat and I probably had cake frosting from the bakery caked on my shirt and arms. Halfway through she caught me watching. We were like two cryptids who’d found each other and were now caught in a weird existential crisis. She got embarrassed and apologized and I just waved my hand like “no please I’m off the clock, organize to your hearts content. No one here’s gonna stop you” and I walked off because honestly I was just as embarrassed for watching and not saying anything for what felt like ten minutes. I came in the next morning and checked the electronics section out of curiosity, and saw not only the DVDs had been organized, but also the blurays. I never saw her again.
So let me tell you this. We really truly do NOT give a fuck. Walmart treats their associates like shit. Capitalism is trash. And there are folks out there with organization quirks that make our lives a little easier and we appreciate that. That’s the end of my story. Eat well, drive safe, and go organize something at your local Walmart.
As someone who has worked the walmart bakery and had to hide/sleep in the freezer because of anxiety, I feel this entire last comment.
As someone who has OCPD, would love as much help as I can get, but also have been through Walmart training, I view this type of person as a godsend, and have been that person before, but also get extremely nervous about this because of Walmart's policy about people working when they're not being paid to do so.
If we are RPing together
you do not have to:
get to my thread just because you’re working on other replies
avoid posting often just because we’re both online and it’s your turn
push yourself to write something just because you see me on
I understand:
that sometimes you only get muse for certain threads
you may not know what to reply with at the moment
some threads you have are in an exciting moment and you’d rather put your focus into those
RPing is for fun. Don’t force yourself to get stuff done. Your replies are worth the wait.
//Deepest apologies for my absence over the past week or so! Between FFXV, and my mother tripping, spraining her right wrist, and breaking her left shoulder, my days have consisted mostly of playing FFXV between calls for help. ^^; Hopefully the sprain will heal soon and she’ll be able to do some things on her own again, but until then, I’m kind of on call 24/7.
Semi-closed starter for Chrono Trigger muses
“Then, if we want to succeed in our task, we’ll have to either, kill him or send him to some place where he can’t harm anyone. Thou, the later will be the hardest”
The engines suddenly stoped working, as the ship seemed to stop. They could hear some words being spoken, from a voice they haven’t heard before, but then, from James voice too. After 5 minutes, someone knocked four times the place where they where hiding.
—Come out! It’s clear!—James told.
After coming out, they found themselfs in a really big hangar, completely empty.
—Okay, now, where is the lab?—Crono asked—We should take him out of here and then decide where to drop him.
“Hmm…I want to say I don’t know how losing their head scientist would affect them, but considering that’s exactly what happened as a result of his experiments, followed by the Lylat Wars…” He jumps a little, startled by the tapping. He hops out of the Arwing, switching to telepathy.
<Taking him to Venom would be risky, but I don’t know if it will go exactly as it did in the original timeline since it will be by our call, not General Pepper’s, that he was taken there. Still, it puts Dad at risk of the same fate he suffered in the original timeline…>
<Meanwhile, if we’re going to kill him, we need to be very careful how we go about it, or we risk my dad being imprisoned as an accomplice to murder, at best.>
James leads the pair through the corridors toward the laboratory. “So, tell me about yourselves. There’s obviously more to you than meets the eye, since you knew about the attack, the car bomb, and my name.”
Nate slows down, thinking. If he tells them the real reason they’re there, it could drastically alter the course of history. But…simply by saving his parents’ lives, a brand new future has already been created. Plus, he would need a way to get his new self to come back to Crono’s planet, anyway, to ensure this new future stays intact.
<…Should we tell him?>
“What’s his original fate?” Asked Crono through telepathy.
When James asked, and Crono heard Nate’s question, he decided that it was a good idea.
—I’m Crono, king of Guardia in a planet really far away from here, in the future. And he is Nate, your son, but from the future too.
Crono was good at some things, and bad at others. Clearly, to tell things, he was really bad.
—I know this sounds unbelievable, but as you can smell, we knew almost everything that was going to happen.
<From what I heard from my mentor Peppy, Star Fox was tasked with escorting Andross to his exile on the planet Venom—that’s the dwarf planet with the poisonous atmosphere that’s the closest one in the system to our suns. In transit, Pigma betrayed Dad and Peppy, and got them captured. Dad sacrificed himself so that Peppy could escape...
Pigma’s known for being a greedy pig in the present, so my guess is that Andross probably offered him more money than Pepper did.> The subject was obviously a painful one for Nate to talk about—verbally, telepathically, or what have you.
James stops in his tracks, then turns and gives the pair...well, his expression is hard to read behind those shades of his. “...So you’re telling me you two are from the future. As in, you traveled through time to help me.”
Nate nods. “As Crono said, I know it does sound unbelievable—”
“You’re right, it does sound unbelievable,” the older fox interrupts. ”I mean, our best scientists have already written off time travel as a pipe dream. And you expect me to believe a planet my son went to has managed it?” He steps up to the two—particularly to Nate, since he’s seen how powerful Crono is...and besides, this is the one claiming to be his younger son. “How do I know you aren’t at the bottom of all this? That you aren’t the one who planted the bomb, and are trying to sabotage our military’s R&D team? Impersonating my kid...that’s sick.”
The younger fox shudders, backing away from his father. James had always been a loving, caring father. He had been stern with him from time to time, but never before had he gotten like this with him. It scares him a bit. But then, never before had James felt like someone was trying to use his children to get to him.
me: *doesn’t hear from best friend for a day*
me: omg are we drifting? we’re drifting. I don’t know what is happening in your life. I’m so out of touch. We don’t know each other anymore. What is our friendship?
“Yeah, it takes some time to get used around them but in the end, they are dear friends you can really count on with in danger of any sort.
Your take on the weapon is totally believable as that could be the case with fighting enemies as it could stun them for you to safely get a fair distance away, nice thought on it there and pleased to meet you Nate.
My name is Bartz Klauser and I’m a Wandering Adventurer out to fulfill my father’s dying wish to see it as he would’ve wanted to, it’s nice to meet new friends along the way as the more the merrier I say.”
Bartz said with a gentle smile as he extended his right hand in greeting to Nate, grinning while doing so.
“The pleasure is mine, Bartz!” He shakes the adventurer’s hand. “Nate McCloud, junior member of the second generation mercenary team Star Fox, led by my older brother Fox. We reformed the team to end the Lylat Wars, started by the man responsible for both my parents’ deaths...one of whom was the leader of first-generation Star Fox.”
He chuckles, offering the knife to Bartz, handle-first. It was found on his planet, so it should probably stay with him. “It’s a rather interesting and practical application for a magical weapon, if nothing else.”
His light expression changes to one much more serious as Bartz describes the pirates as his ‘friends’.
“...Hold on...they’re your friends? But they’re responsible for the losses of many innocent lives! They’re wanted criminals! Thieves! Hitmen!” He crosses his arms, looking down at the ground. “I mean, I know they helped us during the Aparoid and Anglar invasions, but...”
Wait wait wait...are they even talking about the same group of pirates?
“Hey, no worries as it’s all fine! I wasn’t really in much danger, was just shocked by the sudden knife to the throat is all. You’re alright as you didn’t realize, it’s all good! Yes, the blade strengthens the more the wielder runs away or basically flees a tough battle if it proves a challenge, it’s quite handy heh heh!”
Bartz explained slowly to Nate while relieved that the sharp object was no longer at his neck, he didn’t mind sharing the information about the legendary blade with a new friend, especially one who didn’t mean any sort of harm in the slightest.
“I think I may have just been spending entirely too much time around pirates. Normally, I would never do such a thing, at least without asking if it was okay. I’m really glad you’re not angry, though.” He picks up the knife again...unlike before, however, he doesn’t seem to be afraid. Perhaps it only has that effect in battle?
“This knife...maybe it was designed with self-defense in mind, rather than actual combat? Throwing the wielder’s flight response into overdrive while allowing them to damage their attacker enough to make a swift escape? That’s my take on it, anyway.”
After about a minute of pondering on the subject, he suddenly realizes that, not only was his first interaction with this traveler to hold a knife against his neck, but he hasn’t even bothered to introduce himself to him!
“Ahh, I’m sorry...we haven’t introduced ourselves yet!” He holds out his free hand to Bartz. “My name is Nate.”

“...Why? Just...why?”
“Ugh...who started the whole ‘dabbing’ trend, anyway? The term ‘second-hand embarrassment’ comes to mind whenever I see it...”

That’s odd. Despite that Nate is standing there holding a knife to the wanderer’s throat…he seems to look more afraid than Bartz does. His hand quivers as he holds the blade up…but he never makes a move to attack. In fact, he looks like he wants to turn tail and run.
…Wait a sec. Could that knife be…?
He finally drops the knife, and the terrified expression on his face disappears in a flash.
“…I’m really sorry about that. I never intended to actually harm you. I just wanted to see if the legend of this weird knife was true.”
Bartz was relieved once the knife was dropped but wait, was that the Chicken Knife the other was holding? That was the blade that increases in strength if one was fleeing from battle, the legend this blade currently held as he nodded to Nate as he then spoke.
“I-It’s quite alright and thank-you for lowering it, that is indeed the Chicken Knife as it’s strength increases if you were fleeing from tough battles against various monsters…”
The foxman looks down at the knife, widening his eyes.
“Whoa, wait, hold on...this thing gets stronger the more times its wielder runs away?” He starts to bend down to pick it up again...but then stops himself. “I was more talking about the legend of the knife that strikes fear into its wielder’s heart!” It’s a very good thing Nate had no intention of causing Bartz any harm...because he’s run away from more than his fair share of fights due to his personal policy against killing.
“I’m really, really sorry for pointing that thing at you...I didn’t realize I’d put you in that much danger!”

Nate shakes his head and sighs. Having heard some about Tidus, but never having seen him in person (nor any of Yuna’s other companions who had seen him in the flesh and blood), he just can’t believe he’s anything more than a dream, and that she has been chasing after someone who was never real in the first place. She would need to face reality sooner or later...but is now really the time?
And for that matter, what if he’s wrong? What if he really is real? The last thing he needs is to cause his new friend unnecessarily emotional pain...not even considering that he’s in a world where any number of people could turn him to stone, among many other possible, extremely painful and extremely deadly, outcomes, with a flick of the wrist. Besides that, it was said in the heat of an argument, and wasn’t exactly said with the intention of making a convincing point...
“...I’m...sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.”
“It just...slipped, in the heat of the moment. Besides...from the little time I’ve known you, you seem like a stable enough person, and I’m more than confident you wouldn’t just believe dreams were reality.”
“That being said, if you truly believe he’s real...then, maybe he is. I’ve already seen that there is much more to this world than to any of the worlds in my home star system...so it’s not outside the realm of possibility...”
