“I told you, I’m not hungry.”
“What the HELL?”
She sighed contently, feeling safe in his arms again. When Scar pulled back, she could see the sadness in his eyes. “Nathaniel, love, it’s okay. It’s fine. I’m fine,” she explained, with a light smile, trying to reassure him, as she placed her hands on either side of his face. “I’m completely alright,” she insisted. “Guess it explains my extreme mood swings, huh?” Scar joked, trying to ease his tension.
His eyebrows lightly furrowed at her response. “Are you sure?” Scarlett’’s smile relaxed him a little, but not by much - that was clear to see. His shoulders were still rolled back ( tensed ), and a tight-lipped grimace remained on his face. He was worried about her - worried for her. The smallest hint of a smile came forward. “Yeah - ” A short chuckle. “- Guess so.”
finally put nathan’s bio out omfg. here it is.
She smiled up at him. “What, I don’t even get a proper hello?” she asked, walking closer to him.
“That’s better,” she smiled. Then she fell quiet. “I was diagnosed with Bipolar II. And I- I couldn’t deal with it alone, so I admitted myself here.”
He kept his arms wrapped cozily around her waist, even after the kiss was over. The small smile that was slowly growing on his face stopped when she explained herself - Nathaniel’s usual tensed look came back, but his eyes were sad. “What?!” Disbelief ran through him. “But - how.. why - ” He stumbled over his words, Nathan dismissed the line of questions he was antsy to ask, only one taking priority. “Are you.. alright?”
As he turned to face her, she lightly smiled up at him. “Hello, darling.”
He blinked rapidly for a moment - not believing that she was really there for a second. His look of bewilderment was clear on his face. “What - what are you doing here? Why are you here?”
“The aliens! Over there!” She pointed to space where she could see them, though in reality they were not there
“There’s NOTHING there.”
“Hey, sorry to bug you. But it’s my first day here, and I was wondering if you could show me where room 8C is?”
Nathan knew that voice all too well. His body tensed and as he turned around to face her - his hesitancy was clear. “- Scarlett?”
“Get down, the alien is right over there! They’re gonna hurt you!” Jess was shaking, her fists up in self defence she was just protect herself even though the hallucinations couldn’t be seen by anyone else
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
“What? No, what are you doing? Where am I?” The girl stammered, she didn’t remember falling asleep much less someone being in the room with her. She couldn’t recall much of anything from that day at the moment. “What’s going on?”
“You had a seizure - ” His words were blunt. “ - And you fell.”
‘ i never thought i’d MISS work. ‘
“..... you missed this place?”
“Can I—Can I come in? I don’t like hallways.”
“You don’t like - hallways?”
“Hey, I was just abou- wait a minute why does this say that you skipped your meds? You can’t just skip your meds!”
“I got some pretty shitty meds. So yeah, I skipped ‘em.”
“Who are you?”
“Who are you?”
“Whoa, whoa!” Gaines laughed, holding out his hands in surrender. “There is no reason to push.”
Nathaniel simply glared at the guy. “You were in my personal space.” He practically growled out the words.
Collin had been looking forward to starting his new job at the psychiatric hospital, as much as a kid may be excited about a new video game. He entered the common hall and smiled at the first person he saw, not failing to introduce himself as soon as came the chance “Hi! I’m Collin, the new nurse. And you are?” he asked with a genuine interest.
Nathaniel rolled his eyes at the peppy man. “...It’s Nathan.” He said blandly.
“ I feel dumb,is it a side effect of the pills they’ve been giving me ? Or am I just really dumb ?’’
“Probably the latter.”
His voice made her look up. Eyes wide, lips forming a smile all on its own. “Nate..” She let out, before enveloping him a hug. “I missed you.. I missed you so damn much.” Layla whispered.
Nathaniel returned her hug with a tight squeeze of his own. It was the first time he had a genuine smile, and the first time he had experienced genuine happiness, in a long time. Too long. “I’ve missed you, too.” Suddenly, he pulled back from the hug - concern shadowing the former joy on his face. “Wha - what are you doing here??”
