Matt: For a reason Matt couldn't yet identify, the words he listened to in regards to the lack of returned flirting really struck a chord with him that had him reevaluating the mindset he had been in that he might have unintentionally been giving off. "I'm returning it, just in my own way. I'm not as extroverted as you when it comes to a lot of things. I'm more reserved, but that doesn't make my interest any less existent." Not beating around the bush always seemed like the best option, so Matt took it just as he always did. Saving them both time and confusion. Not that they had much of that to begin with as they physically raced against the clock in the hopes of making a rescue. Which was more than apparent no more than a minute later when he felt the car stop and watched Nate hop out, soon following. "That's ten more minutes than I thought that we had."

Nate: The older male stopped his attention on anything else so he could pay total focus to what Matt was saying to him, picking up on the tone the other was using to say it with which let him know the other meaning what he said. "Trust me, there's this feeling I get off of you. I haven't figured out how to describe it but it makes me feel that even if what I say might come off as a bit stronger than what you say, there's still the same attraction, I can just tell. And I like that a lot about you, that you can make me feel something without having to tell me." His smile was persistent as he looked at Matt before was closing the car door behind them both. "I've been thinking that we should both get a dog right now, not just the one I picked out for you. Whatever you see in there and think I should get, I'll get it tonight with you." Talking while they made their way inside to save time so the dogs could be their's, Nate placed a hand on Matt's lower back with a grin. "We're here to get some dogs."

Matt: If the car was this comfortable for him, he knew without doubt that the dog was going to feel just as relaxed, especially since it'd have the entire space of the back to travel in, Matt's own eyes taking a quick glance back there once it was brought up again, smirking this time as his gaze returned to the older in the driver's seat. "The dog, right. Do you flirt this heavily with everyone you come across or is it just me? Maybe you should be riding back there with him." The reference was a little vague so he wasn't sure if Nate would pick up on it, but in case the other didn't, Matt didn't want the wrong idea to get taken, so he quickly clarified. "I'd rather have you up here with me, though."

Nate: With eyes dropping to Matt's lips once they were momentarily parked at a red light, Nate took the time to relish in the pleasure of seeing the look on Matt's face, his own similar to it being present on his face now. "You're the only person I've ever continuously flirted with even if it's not returned. To be honest, I never make this many moves on anyone, but something about you makes not want to stop." A laugh left his lips at the thought of being in the backseat with the dog, shaking his head at the other before he was taking off once more and turning down the street that the shelter was on. "You would, huh? Well, wherever we are, I'd rather be there with you, too." Once the car one parked by the sidewalk as close as he could get to the shelter so the dog wouldn't have a long trip to it, he quickly got out to go on the other side where Matt was, opening the door in a rush. "We've got exactly ten minutes to save that dog before he has to suffer through another boring day at that damn park."

Matt: Once Matt saw the kind of vehicle Nate had actually arrived in, doubts about what it could carry immediately dissipated just as quick as they had formed. "Yeah, this'll hold him alright. This could probably hold twelve of him." That was a good thing, too, in case Matt fell for any other pair of eyes he saw at the shelter that he already knew would be his biggest challenge. "If I try to bring ten dogs home, don't stop me. They need one more than I need freedom. They can have it all." Without word on the next topic, he shot Nate a knowing look and a half smile before he nodded toward the front of the car. "Time's ticking."

Nate: If Matt was one thing, hard to crack would be the first thought that came to Nate's mind to pair with how attractive he found the male to be, but it was something he found to be even more intriguing about the other. Even if his advances were given just a look back, it urged Nate to keep trying and nothing was going to make him stop. "Actually, I think you should get as many dogs as you can, Matt. So then when shit gets out of control, I'll get to come over and help. I'm thinking it'll happen quite often," His own knowing grin was given to the younger male before he was taking off in the car to arrive at the shelter as fast as they could. "So, about the backseat.." His arm reached over so he could place his hand on the back of Matt's seat with a smirk. "I've got a blanket back there... For you know, the dog. Wouldn't want him to be uncomfortable."

Sometimes, some things, are better left unknown with parents at least. Yeah, you make a point, i would rather them worry then not because obviously they care enough to worry bout you. if they didn’t it’s kinda like.. they gave up on you and that would hurt..

It’s kind of like a slap in the face if a parent doesn’t worry about their kid, but then you’ve got parents who do nothing but worry about every details every second of the day, and how can they even really enjoy having a kid if they’re living in a nightmare like that? I don’t know, parent shit can be tricky.
