“Nate, we’ll never be safe.” Malia let him know. To her, it didn’t matter where they’d be because trouble tended to find her, no matter what. She knew that Mystic Falls wasn’t a safe place, but she’d learned to fight for it by now, to make it her home somehow. Fighting for it sounded a lot better than giving up and walking away because Malia had never been someone who just ditched when it got rough. She’d keep trying if she had to. “Trouble always finds me anyway and you didn’t fall in love with me because I’m safe and normal. You fell in love with me because I’m a troublemaker and different.” she added, taking the cat carrier and making her way over to the lake with Nate, using her supernatural speed. Malia placed the kittens down, pulling her cell phone out of her pocket because she was way too nosy now and she wanted to know who had messaged her. It wasn’t anyone they knew asking for help, it was someone who did this frequently to sabotage their lives. Sadly, that was also something the hybrid had gotten used to, but reading the text message made her growl. It was a quiet sound though, but still present. “She knows about the cure. Probably about the one that I gave to Stiles the other day.”
"My troublemaker." He spoke with a smile, and also slight possession. He fell in love with everything she was, right down to the part where she was different. He loved that about her. "I'll follow you anywhere, 'Lia."
Nate tried his best to kee the girls' face covered as best he could, without actually suffocating her. Getting to the lake was a bit of a relief, knowing it was a safe place. It was no clock tower, but it would be safe. The raft they found tied up was a huge score - he imagined a woodsman who liked to fish crafted it. He heard Malia growl, however, as he was untying it. "Who knows?" Shifting the girl in the one arm he held her by, he tilted the female hybrid's chin. "We don't even need the cure, Bambi. There's nothing to cure.. nothing wrong with us. You taught me that, remember?"
After being suave with his words, he nearly fell into the lake getting on the raft, and decided to half crawl onto it. When Malia was on, he pushed it off from the shore with a hard shove, and unpacked a pillow from the bag and a sleeping bag. It was hard settling the girl in, because even asleep she had this hard grip on him, but he managed to tuck her in, an do the sleeping bag up under the tent area of the raft. He sat cross legged, half in the tent, half out, and was playing with her hair - his other hand teasing the kittens through the carrier doors. "Great welcome home party, right?" The hand playing with the kittens pulled his girlfriend into his lap, and held onto her tightly. "I love you.."
