HOW I MAKE THE SIMS 3 LOOK PRETTY!

I decided to bring the mods I use together after a few inquiries on how I make my game look nice! I don't think it looks perfect BUT I am very happy with the screenshots I take. I actually don't have many in my game, but here's the ones I use:

For environment mods, Sims 3 Project Renaissance (small textures) Snow but Better Improved EA Lighting HD Texture pack (1k) Dive into Sky Lighting Mod Stars I don't have it in my game right now since reinstalling but I also used to use Shadow Extender

The reshade I use is Clarity, it's truly life changing! I use it in reshade 6.4.1 after following this tutorial. I also edit my pictures with this psd. If anyone has anymore questions just ask!

My GPU is Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Super

I do use ReShade, and not Nvidia filters as I believe they are incompatible with the fact that I run the game in DXVK (tutorial on how to do that here) Maybe this has changed now from when I last tried but I am actually happy with using ReShade so I haven't checked in a while

My ReShade preset is a custom one I frankensteined, I have uploaded it here: http://www.simfileshare.net/download/6036490/

It is a combination of some of my own tweaks of one of erasabledinosaur's presets, I really can't remember but possibly one here, and some values from Herbalwhite

I use two automatic DOF shaders, and just adjust the in-game camera until I get a depth I like. I tick one DOF box for a lighter effect and two for more dramatic DOF.

I use a camera mod by Brntwaffles&Shimrod to give more control over the in-game camera, found here

Other tips are also trying to compose a shot well, using principles like The Rule of Thirds, and taking a few slightly different shots to see what I like most at point of upload. I struggle with composition in my real life visual arts hobbies so Sims photography is a good way I practise it :)

I don’t know if I’ve ever talked about my AU save file (just to be clear: the game is modded and I play on PC). I had started writing a fanfiction based on it, but then I thought the story wasn’t that interesting.

Basically, everything started when Piper died at the entrance of Diamond City and asked William, the Sole Survivor, to take care of Nat. William—who’s still searching for Shaun—ended up adopting Nat. And he’s teaching her how to survive in the wasteland: how to defend herself, how to hunt, how to sell the extra stuff (I have a hunting mod, but the teaching part is all roleplay), how to scavenge, and how to make caps by selling what they find or by building new things out of whatever they come across.

William and Nat travel a lot, but their main base is Diamond City, even though they’ve built a few shelters here and there. While traveling, they freed some kids who’d been trapped by Raiders: Charlie and Sophie. And guess what? William adopted them too, and he’s teaching them the same things he teaches Nat, plus how to read and write.

Dogmeat is the giant, spoiled, hyper-protective sweetheart of the family.

behold, my Mandalorian/Bounty Hunter Cal au. I swear it was just a random thought, but then Table made me actually think about (thank you Table).

essentially, Cal was born as Calaar Kestis of Mandalore. his mother was biological sisters with the mother of Bo-Katan and Satine. and the Kestis sisters had those freckles and red hair that both Cal and Bo-Katan inherited. (did I add this part because both of them are ginger? yes. if there is ginger in the galaxy Cal would be related to, it's Bo-Katan. sorry Obi-Wan is not nearly ginger enough for that.)

his first armor set is very mismatched, bought and stolen from various places, and has very little beskar in it. his second set, he forges himself from beskar he found on the Shattered Moon (where you can find the beskar material in-game! everyone say thank you Santari). but what's really important is that his helmet is matching with BD <3

after the Purge, he becomes a bounty hunter, because if he can't be a Jedi, he can still be a Mandalorian, and that's what they do isn't it? eventually he becomes known as a 'Jedi Hunter', because he kept taking bounties on Jedi. and then faking their death to help them hide.

Jod is not a Jedi recruit who aged out

He can't be

Aging out is not a thing in the Jedi Order

That concept comes from some young readers books, the primary reason it exists is for narrative tension "oh no I haven't been chosen as someone's Padawan yet! If I don't get picked soon I'll be sent to the service corps!"

But the books are not truly canon to stuff like movies and shows, especially not a pre Disney eu book, which is what the aging out idea comes from

No disney canon material, be it high canon or eu, depicts aging out as a thing

Mostly because the notion was killed well before disney had Star Wars

Those books which invented the aging out rule had the cutoff be 14, but the Clone Wars movie had ahsoka be considered young to be a Padawan at age 14

And since then disney has followed through with that, depicting the more typical age one becomes a Padawan to be 16-18
