Hi friends. I bring you today’s post as an explanation of why I’ve been a bit absent. I also want to share my heart with you briefly because it has been heavy.

I’ve been grieving and wrestling with reality. I’m tired. I’m overwhelmed by the world’s events. I’ve always know, as a black woman, how hard life can be for people of color. And while I am consistently blown away by the hate and fear that surrounds humanity, but I’ve been even more encouraged by the way people are coming together to be on the side of healing, restoration, & justice. Equity. Reconciliation. These are the things my heart longs for. All under the banner of love and the imago dei. I feel seen and heard. And I want to thank and honor those who have come before me to even get me this far as a woman of color. My life matters. Native lives matter. Hispanic/Latinx lives matter. Asian lives matter. The list could go on and on but I would run out of room. You are seen and heard, friend. It’s not that we are ignoring other people’s lives or their value. Like the very well put example (of many examples) says: it’s not that I don’t care about your house. Yes, all houses have value and are important. It’s just that right now, some houses are on fire and we need to put those fires out. Help them rebuild. Tend to their needs. So that all of our houses can be in a state of thriving.

Good morning peeps & happy Tuesday!! Here’s today’s vibe; I don’t know about you but the weather down here has been sending some pretty mixed signals. Since the quarantine & social distancing, the only times I go out are to get groceries &/or take my dog out but depending on the time of day, it’s either 50 degrees but sunny or 80 degrees and a typical Charleston summer day. But luckily with this cute combo, I’m prepared for whatever the weather throws at me.
