Trust in g/t giant phobia context
Okay, so... I know this topic is absolutely hackneyed, but oh my god I can't even imagine how much fear one can experience when meeting a giant (and having a phobia of them). I mean, it's not a fear that could be cured by therapy or something, it doesn't rely on internal factors (e.g. you can't just face it till you're not afraid anymore), because it actually depends on another person's behavior and decisions. Which.... leads us to one of the most loved topics in the g/t – TRUST!!!
The trust that a tiny has to have to let a giant near him, let alone hold him, must be really endless. If you have a phobia of something you probably can get used to the causing factors and just ignore them for a short period of time, and still get impossible anxiety and tachycardia next time. But if one befriends a giant somehow... they will be required to feel okay, thus, the giant would have had to do something, no, to exist so... careful and attentive for the sake of the tiny that they would actually have their trust in their friend.
Goodness, I'm so bad at trying to express my thoughts in my second language... But... Just think of it. You trust someone, who is literally your phobia. Hang out with them, talk to them, place your life in their hands. I mean, that person must have done something SUPERNATURAL to deserve this.
Turns out I like sharing my random thoughts loll
P.s all of this kind of a vent post since I've just had a panic attack because of my emetophobia (yes I'm literally afraid of THROWING UP ☠️☠️ sorry for mentioning that a just had to share it with somebody---)
Hehe
Muhehehehehehe]
OMG THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLOT TROP EVERRRRR
Rainforest | part 1
John was walking in a rainforest. Just following a path, curious where it would lead him. Different birds were chirping, the sun was shining bright, though not so noticeable thanks to the fluffy trees. Everything was so peaceful, so calm and beautiful.
Except for John's mind. His thoughts were swirling thirty miles per hour, his shoulders were tense, his breathing uneven. He just wrote a final exam. He should be happy about it. He should be proud.
But there's nothing to be proud of. It was horrible, John was horrible. And terrified, to say the least. His hands were trembling, his legs were dangling, restless. Everything he wrote was a complete freaking mess. And he knew it even before he got to the classroom.
He'd done terrible. But nobody could know about it. If his parents, if his father found out... his life would become hell in reality. That was the only thing he was sure about when his hand tried to hold the pen so that his handwriting would be at least slightly readable.
It was all too much. So there he is, trying to trace the path with his eyes instead of the answer sheet. And it worked...
John stopped in his trucks. The path ended at a slope, which led to a river. The stream was fast, churning. And also... there was a person sitting on its bank. Well, not quite a person. A freaking giant.
"Holy– " Before John could even react, the giant locked eyes with him. His pupils widened. "Oh," His voice boomed, vibrating through John's whole body. "Hey," He greeted casually, turning his massive body to John. He was wearing a tunic of some sort and something that looked like denim shorts.
John froze in place. His muscles just wouldn't listen to his mind. And his mind was racing, as well as his heart. How the hell is there a GIANT in here?
He knew he needed to run, to hide. To do whatever just to get away from the massive creature. But his body wouldn't listen to him. His throat went dry, he couldn't even make a sound.
Meanwhile, the giant frowned and rose to his feet. His shadow fell over John, enveloping his tiny frame completely. The giant took a cautious step forward, making the ground shake under John's feet. His legs didn't hold him anymore, and he fell back, landing on his back harshly. The giant was approaching him fast and all he could do was just tremble pathetically. John shut his eyes tight, unable to think of any solution. However, nothing came even after a whole minute of silence. Suddenly, the booming voice cut the air.
"Little one?" John couldn't open his eyes. What did he just call him? "Are you okay?" The voice sounded quieter now, lower. The human rose his eyelids carefully. There, right above him, was an enormous face. Soft hazel eyes examined him with a concerned look. "Hey..." He repeated. John exhaled shakily. "You..." His voice was suddenly hoarse. He cleared his throat. "Who t-the hell are you?" He couldn't help but stutter. A small smile played on the giant's lips. "Um... I'm Kyle," the next second a massive finger, the size of John's whole torso, appeared in his vision abruptly. The human flinched back and squeezed his eyes back shut. "Oh, um, I didn't mean to startle you, sorry," he heard the giant apologize.
John pried his eyes open again. "You're... a giant," he stated, watching every tiny movement the massive man made varily. "Yeah?.." the other responded unsurely. Suddenly, something in his soft gaze shifted. It softened even more. "Hold on, are you... scared of me?" he asked. Not mocking, careful. John looked away, not having the courage to admit it to the giant, but the trembling gave him out completely. "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't think... I've just never... communicated with a human for this long before," he said apologetically. "You haven't?" John didn't even realize he was saying something before it flew out of his mouth. The giant shook his head. "No," he smiled. That meant he didn't intend to hurt him. Probably. "So... What's your name?" John hesitated. He was actually talking to a giant. He couldn't have been less than seventy feet tall. Insane. "J-John..." he said. "Nice to meet you," Kyle responded, his smile widened.
The forest stayed silent for a moment.
John forced himself up, his legs still shaky. He looked at Kyle, estimating him. The giant was sitting on the ground, his head reaching the trees' top. His hands now rested on his knees, John could imagine those crushing him in less than a second. He shivered. "You're.. massive..." he said in awe. And fear. "I'll take that as a compliment," Kyle smirked. John realized his mistake immediately, his whole body tensed even more. "No, I..." But Kyle interrupted him. "Hey, hey, dude, relax..." his voice was almost a whisper. "I understand that my size is probably a lot for you, but... please don't think I would try to hurt you or something..." he said reassuringly and eased away slightly. "Good to hear..." John forced a chuckle. "Well then... How old are you..?"
***
They ended up talking for several hours. John noticed that only when the sun started to set. He didn't expect Kyle to be such a good conversationalist. After the first two phrases, the human was able to relax, not anticipating any harm from the giant anymore.
Kyle turned out to be the same age as him, seventeen. That fact seemed to calm John down even more for some reason. They talked about nothing and everything. John learned that giants lived pretty much like humans did, and that Kyle lived with his mother. He also had to study, but there were no exams for him this year. John told him about his exams and the problems he had with his parents. He would never believe that he would be able to tell that to a giant of all people. But Kyle actually listened to him. Even tried to support him. That was pretty unusual.
"How about you come here tomorrow again?" Kyle asked when John was about to leave. "Well... Maybe..." the human smiled playfully.
But the next day, John didn't come.
And the day after that too.
Kyle started to think that, after all, John was still afraid of him.
But John returned after a week. He looked different. Much worse than Kyle had remembered.
