does anybody else find it weird that people hate michael being changed to michaela in the bridgerton show?

bc honestly michael was a horrible character. he was an asshole to francesca when he first got back and then basically forced himself on her even though she rejected his advances—and then MARRIED HER WITHOUT HER CONSENT and just expected her to love him.

like francesca was a victim in the books… and that’s the guy people want instead?

am i the only one who kind of hates the bridgerton books?? like wow the show did SO MUCH BETTER bc those books were hot garbage…

like it would’ve been tolerable if someone wasn’t either getting sexually harassed or assaulted every five minutes BY THE MMC (or in daphne’s case the fmc). the only book that was even halfway manageable was anthony and kate’s but it ended so abruptly and weirdly that i couldn’t really appreciate it

like genuinely i don’t understand the people who are disappointed with the series bc “it’s not like the books” when the books are the worst historical romances i have maybe ever read
