five missed calls. thirteen text messages. jewon scrolls through all of them, then deems them all just as unimportant as the last. checks those calls next, stops on a name that causes him to heave a tired sigh. silence stretches, the name on the screen staring back at him, shining bright like the only source of light in the dark. something in him sinks, just a little, finger hovering just over the call button, pondering.
ambivalence holds its grip tight around his digits.
the light he holds in the palm of his hand, is dying. decisions are made in these short spans of time: shadows blink in competition with light, he presses call.
“ah, eomma,” eyes automatically draw towards a photograph half hidden on top of the shelf. a reminder, mockery, a bittersweet memory. “it’s been a while, i know.” a pause. “i’m sorry.”

oh jewon aka smpa’s chief inspector aka no face’s oldest child aka the “trash oppa”.... yeah... he’s that guy...
such a troublemaker at younger age, which eventually leads to the indicent that could have ended much worse for the knight... in his defense it was never meant to end up quite that way but blame is still on him > packs his bags and he is off to boarding school as a lesson a punishment
returns home with a little bit of a changed persona, and maybe for a moment it was something no face had expected/ hoped would happen but jewon surprises everyone when he announces his refusal for the throne and that instead, he is leaving for the knpu
which is basically a big “fuck you” to dear old papa oh
bitterness runs deep, resentment runs even deeper - holds a major grudge against his old man
and so, is determined to reduce his empire to dust :’)))
enlists, meets the faith, graduates from knpu. next: smpa, where he climbs the ranks and now sits on the position of the chief inspector
work work and more work... what can he say, he is very devoted to his job but sometimes he should just chill... (like rly. take a day off sometime )
the world’s best big brother award goes to... not him, obviously... but contrary to what others might think, he has never... well, disliked his little siblings. blames on the circumstances but finds no actual need to apologize. makes sense? didn’t think so
does not keep any contact with family, expect maybe mama oh but that is a bit on the scarce side as well
