"light pollution." it's said so casually that they probably would've just left it at that if they didn't remember that they were a living, breathing person and was expected to elaborate on something that seemed pretty niche to most people.

face barely moves from their position; leaning against the rails over a small cliffside where they could see several buildings in the distance. they don't recognize this place, they don't recognize the people.

was this even earth still?

"too many artificial lights in one place messes up the air. the less amount of lights, t- the more likely you can actually see the stars. s'why i prefer smaller towns, or..."

no, they're stopping before they start rambling about their own personal tastes to some stranger. eye contact breaks, even if it was just a glance from the corner of their vision. "..s- sorry, i didn't mean to start rambling."

eye glances down to the plate held out in the others hand, the sight and smell of fresh pancakes hitting their senses before his words truly processed in their mind. their mouth waters almost instantly, and even when it's being offered to them directly, there's still some hesitance to actually take the plate.

god they were starving.

they look up at him for just a moment- like they were trying to subtly ask if they could, but hands would move faster, taking the plate gently despite their hunger. without missing a beat they're taking the pancake bare-handed and taking a bite. at least there wasn't any syrup or this would really be a mess.

ally mouths the words "thank you" to coach. there were a lot of days where they just didn't feel like talking, even long after their vocal cords had healed from the initial incident that lead to them meeting this group.

but you could tell from their face that they were really happy.

"i usually try to not get too many snacks at once," was it their need to save money as much as possible, their old eating habits, or just being overwhelmed by all of options they had at their disposal? probably a mix of all three of those things, but they also couldn't remember the last time they went out like this with anyone. maybe in their teens..?

christ, that feels like a lifetime ago.

"but i like getting gummy stuff. twizzlers, worms, those frog-shaped ones that kinda stick to your teeth a little..." if this was any other time, under watchful eyes of government officials that hardly saw them as human, they wouldn't be so talkative.

but ally didn't have to worry about that right now. it was just them and sherry, who they didn't expect to see at this time of night. guess nocturnal behaviors just come with this line of work.

"what about you, miss?" just being polite, unsure if they're even on a first-name basis. "i didn't take you for someone who had a sweet tooth."

okay now that the show is over i think i have an idea of what ally's AU for that can be besides the basic notes i had for them before so if you'll give me some time i can probably write them down somewhere. AND you guys can throw your t.adc muses at me!!! do it!! launch them directly into me.
