If you were writing a novel set in your city of origin, what’s the arcane environmental detail you would go out of your way to include in order to immerse the reader and flaunt your “locals only” intimacy with the terrain? For me it would be that sharp curve the northbound 6 hits that lets you know you are pulling into Grand Central.

SWORDTEMBER DAY 7: VOID

Eternity’s Eye, neither blade nor relic 🌌💫 Your hand holds the space where it should be, where it was. There, tight in your palm, an echo. As you move it in your hand, it’s as if the blade stays in place, the world tripping over itself to keep pace. And within the space where it should have been, was everything else. A distant glimpse of what the blade wasn’t, a horrid gasp rips itself from your shuddering chest. You run your finger along its edge and bright red spills out to where the blade wasn’t, like bright ink in dark water. Your finger splits, it should hurt, you know it should, but all that comes through is a warm, muffling static. Muscles cut from the bone, fingernails splintering, a gentle fuzz. All you see is the place where the sword was not. Drifting, spinning, the blade surrounds you, your body cut to ribbons. It feels like falling asleep.

First week down, I hope you’ve been enjoying the swords 🩷

Hey there!

I was going through old DA bookmarks and found your stuff, so I figured I'd send you this!

Your stories (namely, Knights of the Grey City and Half-Dragon Solis) were some of my favorites growing up, and I followed KotGC for the latter half of its release. Admittedly, I don't remember much about the plot of either, as I haven't read them in most of a decade, but KotGC at least was exciting enough that I used to check multiple times a day each Thursday (I think that was the schedule?) eager for an update, and also pretty regularly in the middle of the week "just in case" you had posted a random chapter.

Golden Blood, although I'm sure technically inferior to your later works, was also a big part of what originally inspired me to start writing myself! So I have you in part to thank for the now several hundred thousand words of tangentially connected fantasy fiction on my desktop.

All this to say: Good luck in whatever you're pursuing right now, and if you ever choose to come back to writing, I can guarantee you'll have at least one fan :3
