The cutest treehouses 💜🛖
Sometimes, taking care of others so much means having no motivation to take care of myself.
But I've noticed my body change in ways I don't like. I've noticed my joints are stiffer. I've noticed that I don't really ever prioritize my well-being. How can I expect my children to care for their well-being if their mother doesn't care for her own?
So I downloaded the Finch app. If you're not familiar, it's a little app where you raise a baby bird from a hatchling and every goal you complete, big or small, earns you gems you can use to spend on your little bird. Everyday, your little bird gets older and bigger and learns new things. It encourages you to be active in ways you can be, take care of yourself and ways you're capable, and encourages you to take little steps towards doing bigger things for yourself. I genuinely love it!
I wish I could say this was sponsored but I'm giving this info purely because somebody else can benefit from this app. Struggle with getting out of bed? Finch can help. Struggle with exercising daily? Finch can help. Struggle with positive affirmations? Finch helps with that, too.
If you struggle with getting things done daily, just download it and try it out. If it helps, it helps. If it doesn't, you can always uninstall. But it's worth a try!
What makes you feel accomplished the most?
Seeing the results of my efforts
Praise from someone I trust/love
Checking off the goal on a list
None of these... I'll answer in the comments
Thanks mate
Nothing I’ve read has changed me more than “you do people a favor by accepting their help” like I repeat this constantly to so many people because it’s true!!! People like to feel useful, they like to feel kind, they like to feel like they have an ability to impact people’s lives so just let them!! Not everything is a thing to be owed back — accept people’s kindness without making a competition out of it
I don't like compliments for a reason. In the past, compliments were either given falsely (to be mocking or manipulative) or were given and then taken away later when I didn't do what they wanted. Nowadays, I have literally no reason to believe when somebody compliments me. So I will spit out that wrinkly dollar, explain, and move on with my life.
Why are people *constantly* horny? Jesuuuus wtf

I just need to clean the bathroom 😭 Then I'm done for the day. I just wanna crochet 🧶
My weeks pretty much run the same but I'm trying to add more to my daily routine to stay off social media as much as possible.
Mondays are always days where I take the time to catch up on cleaning because Tuesday through Friday, I homeschool my kids, who are 13 and 10 (8th grade and 4th grade, respectively). If I get the cleaning out of the way on Mondays (after working on the weekends), I can focus on lessons and working one-on-one with each kiddo for the rest of the week! Today I...
Finished the few dishes in the sink & unloaded the dishwasher. Then cleaned & seasoned the cast iron skillets again.
Wiped down the counters and swept the kitchen floor
Cleaned up the dining room
Swept the foyer
Tidied up the den and the living room (with my youngest's help)
Scooped the cat litter box
Fed the cats (they got a small handful of dry food in the morning, a small handful of dry food at night, and a biiiiiig bowl of wet food for lunch and before anybody comes for me about that, they like to eat when we eat so I adjusted their eating schedule for eating with the family!)
Went shopping for the next couple of days until I get paid
Made lunch and dinner (sandwiches for lunch, turkey tacos for dinner)
Put leftovers in containers for the hubby's lunch for work tomorrow
Made dessert (6 red velvet cupcakes and a loaf cake with cream cheese frosting)
Drew up lesson plans for the week for both kids
After cleaning up post-baking, I'm ready to crochet some beanies in the kids' favorite colors while the cupcakes cool. I feel so accomplished today despite the depression trying to creep in. I'd say it was a successful Monday.
Time change might suck for a lot of folks but for those of us working night shift, that's one less hour 🥰 (don't talk to me about fall, ok 😒)
