I had lost a decent amount of blogs, some were access-lost, some were deactivated.
But this summer, I'm gonna start over. I mean, I can't lose my hair over a few blogs.
This blog mainly focuses on Greek Mythology, but in my fan interpretation. Basically this is an AU lmao.
I first had the idea of including all deities in there, but I felt it might be too much for my little pea-brain to think of new shits for them all, so the idea was reduced to only focus on the big 6, who would be Zeus and his siblings.
TW: Headcanons!!! Some might not based on ancient scripts, so read at your own risk. If I somehow offend anyone, just know that I don't mean it (really!) and I'm sorry:
1. Birth order:
According to Hesiod, the birth order was
- Hestia
-Demeter
-Hera
-Hades
-Poseidon
-Zeus
And the regurgiation order was reversed.
However, the birth order in history differs between a lot of sources. It's hard to filter out which one is the most suitable. As a fan interpretation, this AU proposes my own birth order, bssed on what I felt being suitable for the big 6:
-Hades
-Poseidon
-Hera
-Demeter
-Hestia
-Zeus
you might be asking: why did I order their birth like that? Well, as I said, it's only based on my feeling. To be honest, idk why either. Fun fact: the order was inspired by a mythology book I read at school. It took a lot of time for me to filter out what was suitable for them.
I also headcanon them being sextuplets. Referencing Ducktales 2017, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and Osomatsu-san here. I feel that siblings born together at the same period of time have a very dynamic bond and I love that.
It's funnier to think that Zeus was salty because the regurgiation order was reversed, yet Mother Rhea insisted the sextuplets' birth order being chronological. That meant Hades was still the oldest, and Zeus would still remain the baby. Zeus was born much, much later than his siblings, so Mother Rhea had enough time to flee from Father Cronus, and enough time to hand him the swaddled rock. lol
2. Signature colors:
As I was listing out the fan-interpreted birth order, I had colored the names above.
- Hades is dark purple, for I think that black would get him mistaken as the personification of death, when he literally just rules the underworld (Thanatos won't be happy). Dark purple gives off a mysterious vibe, and a doom-esque feeling at the same time.
- Poseidon is blue, or navy idk. I mean, the colors of the sea. Btw, the tiny golden crown in front of his kepi means that he is just as power-hungry and controlling like his youngest brother.
- Hera is... green? Or turquoise? Idk. All I know is that I adopted these colors from the peacock, her sacred animal.
- Demeter is gold. Because the color is of the ripe wheat, and she is the patroness of agriculture.
- Hestia... well, I'm battling between red, orange and pink. I imagine her as the humble, gentle and compassionate person, hence the "pink" in her personality. Pink, as I observed, is also the color of burning coal inside a hearth. However, Hes could have a fiery temper, so it's the "red" in her personality, the often-interpreted color for fire. And yeah, it's confusing too, because orange is the realistic color of flames...*sigh*
- Zeus can be gray or gold, color of the skies y'all
3. Modern-day occupations:
- Hades, in the modern world, works as a funeral home organizer. He clothes dead bodies and prepare funerals for them. He is controversial among customers though, because he is notorious for putting the "fun" in "funeral". For example, the bread-shaped coffin meme: I'll stuff yall in the crust thingy
- Poseidon is a sea captain. Maintains sea security, ironic huh. Sometimes his anger issues cause...um... inconveniece for fellow sailors, or fishermen. He kinda icks when they catch fish, this has happened for plenty of years, cuz y'know... who would be happy when some random mortal catches, cooks and digest your own comrades who you have lived with in the sea for millenia?
- Hera is a simple accountant (her main job). Occasionally caters for weddings. Sometimes the activist for women's rights. Sometimes works as someone's midwife. Lots of work tires her out, causing her agitation, alongside Zeus constantly flandering with others. Hmmm... I wonder how many times Hera had to be the midwife to someone who had the blood of Zeus in her belly?
- Demeter is a farmer. Her crops are the best. She also teaches people to grow their own. As someone who needs to tend to her crops all day, she has a lot of energy and hates getting up late.
- Hestia can be the sextuplets' housekeeper. She's the goddess of the hearth and family life, after all. The main chef. Does the housework and runs errands while her siblings are at work. Hes is also the ideal person for her nephews and nieces to talk to or spend time with, at leisure.
Hestia wears a cotton beanie, btw if you ask why then it's because "the junior woodchuck guidebook states that a warm head breeds warm, healthy thoughts" - Huey Duck, Ducktales 2017
- Zeus, well, I'm still thinking. As the leader of his sibs and king of the gods, it's best that he has a job of high status, high reputation, like a president for example....
4. Personalities:
See for yourselves.
Ask if you like, there's no pressure or negative boundaries here.
Good day to y'all.
