Genuinely distressing how every website has become captured by 4chan/reddit/kiwifarms internet culture and now every other web trend is neo-phrenology slur festivals.
no dude it's so cool how attached you are to that character who is singled out and ostracized due to the external monstrousness that clashes with their internal spark of humanity. and i love how drawn you are to themes of horror and love, nature versus nurture, otherness, isolation, and the abject. i bet you have normal feelings about your own personhood
i’ll be honest learning about behaviour modification and canine psychology has really helped me process my own feelings and emotional responses
i find so much therapy talk aimed at humans has too much flowery abstract prose about mindfulness or whatever but for myself I really prefer an approach focused on hard science and what biochemical processes are responsible for me feeling this way, especially anxiety. Also why i prefer listening to lectures given by psychologists or counselors made for other fellow psychs and counselors.
But yeah I feel like there’s lessons anxious humans can take home from anxious dogs
reactiveness is usually the product of fear and unconfidence
when something becomes too overwhelming slow down, add more distance
every time you practice an avoidant behaviour it gets more ingrained and will take more effort to beak the habit once it has been well established.
try refocusing on something else when you feel yourself starting to get worked up over something
progress is slow and if you think you can fix things overnight you are setting yourself up for disappointment
don’t only correct mistakes, actively give praise as well
Physical exercise
Saw this on Twitter and wanted to share.
I hate twitter so mucchhh
Faking it. Watercolor and gouache
there’ll be a post that’s like “i wish people did not mistreat me for X and Y reasons because i am [minority]” and some chucklefuck in the notes is always inevitably like “☝️ do not be sad. if it makes you feel any better i view you as a sex object 😌”
twin peaks seaseon 2 ep 1
a child who is persistently alone & does not want to be alone does not learn that they on occasion have time to themselves during which they can do whatever they want, they learn that occasionally they will have time to themselves throughout which they will do nothing except exactly what they do not want to do - something that is synonymous with that duration of time. if they were being made to do some or other unpleasant thing, like hold their hand on a hot stove, that would not be synonymous with the duration of time, it would be something occupying that duration of time. when they are made ito be alone, the fact that they are alive & conscious is felt as a profound lack rather than the fundamental opportunity atop which all other opportunities are built, & the passage of time becomes something to be endured because it continually implies their continued existence & awareness. life for them then becomes organized not around exploration nor seeking enjoyment or fulfillment, but around strategies for continually enduring the fact that they exist
u need to draw fatter arms it can't all go to the butt and thighs #SORRY
you people continue to not get what the weird route is about and it is honestly disturbing seeing what you say about it.
Noelle is not "fulfilled" in the weird route. She is manipulated in a vulnerable state, has a psychotic breakdown, and becomes suicidal.
Noelle's desire to get punished does not mean that she in fact NEEDS to be hurt to be happy, you're just falling for her own self-hatred. thats literally the point of the normal route paralleling it.

Moral of The Story: What?
Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.
Unfortunate attachment to a game that at its best is a complex web browser game with bloated mechanics and developers that I would kill to see their just desserts. It's so lousy and loosy goosy aswell as a lazy approach to go relinquish most of your control to fans who have to live on its constant "potential" to be good. iron manned this thang so hard i ran out of copium. 🚬
