I just woke up and Tumblr died...

I need some time to process this. I’d link my twitter but I put too much politics and personal opinion on it, that it would be impractical as a sort of gallery. I’m considering making an alternate tumblr account where I post primarily artwork and illustrations and links to my comics.

I don’t post a lot of adult content, it’s nearly all relegated to my alternate nsfw tumblr. I do have kinky posts now and then. But a significant number of my followers here, that are actually still active, are adult nsfw fans. So with the fan base drying up I’ll have to find somewhere to move.

Where to Now?

I have been swamped with the daytime job and haven’t had much time to comment and reflect on the events of Tumblr. Thanks to having friends with excellent research skills pointing out the sudden shift in accessibility for NSFW Artists I think it’s best to try posting my art elsewhere.

This blog will not be self-destructed however it and my SFW account will be discontinued. 

I will no longer log onto Tumblr as of Dec. 17th in agreement with the boycott. I will do my best to be posting on Twitter

For those who need/want to know where I am going to be most active.

Twitter is where you can DM me and such. I will try to make an active presence there, but FurAffinity is by far the most structured and sturdy my art presence is so far. I have the most pics uploaded there, It’s a site I am aware of how to operate on more intamately than the others. For the time being until I get more comfortible on the other two platforms. Please pay more attention to my FA page, and I highly request leaving comments and feedback on the pieces. Gallery setups like FA demand more interaction per piece than just a fave for the effort placed. This goes for any other artist you’re following on there.

In a few days, a chapter of my life is about to close, along with this account. This does not mean the end but it means that there are going to be new beginnings the new challenges to achieve. It’s Official...

Tumblr has decided to kill all the NSFW artists off on Dec 17th. It hurts because I had a lot of good times on this site and for them to terminate all my hard work is saddening. Down in the bottom are all of my platforms. If you want to see more lewd work from me, go there from now on. Instead of Tumblr doing it, I rather pull the plug myself before this happens. So December 16th is when I’m deleting my blogs.

Of course it’s not Tumblr! They came for Craigslist personals first because that’s the oldest trick in the book: Sneakily taking down the ‘perverts’ under the guise of vague, high morality goals and working slowly up from the bottom, picking off larger and larger targets. Few people cared about CL because of the stereotype of scary unwashed creeps trawling for sex online. That wasn’t so familiar or cute so it was fair game.  

Tumblr is biting at the ‘artists’ heels and suddenly there is a bit more noise, because artists aren’t supposed to be treated like shit, are they? However even now the hair-splitting over what’s porn and therefore garbage and not-art shows that attitudes are not so different. It’s still the same divisive, dangerous us v.s. them mentality that is so easily exploited.

This is why when people tell me I shouldn’t worry about this because ‘my art isn’t porn anyway’ it makes me angry. It means so much more than drawings or a silly blog. This is about people being slowly phased out of their freedoms, rights and agency. History has shown time and time again that whenever power wants to make a crushing move backwards, it comes for what it declares ‘obscene’ first. People are raised to be scared and ignorant of sex so it’s an easy gateway. When they come cracking down on sex is when we most need to pay very close attention. They are not protecting us.

Yeah. This isn’t about whether *you*, specifically, don’t want NSFW content shoved in front of your eyeballs, it’s about whether the people who want to see NSFW content have the right to see it *at all*.

It’s also about what counts as ‘nsfw’ or ‘pornographic’ content. The article hints at it but doesn’t state it directly, but LGBT content - any LGBT content, even the most G-rated or strictly informative kind - is usually an early target in the name of ‘cleaning up’ a website. (YouTube, for example, is already guilty of doing this.)
