Rewatching the finale of season 3 I noticed Abed saying heâs not going to talk to Evil Abed because heâs not crazy. In the floor is lava episode he calls himself crazy and says itâs embarrassing. His complex about being crazy is a really good dimension to his character and I like that it gives him some vulnerability, even though I also appreciate his being an autistic character with generally high self esteem.
sooooo i tried something here
Pedro Pascal and the Sperm Struggle.
Rewatching Virtual Systems Analysis before proceeding with season 4. Iâve been avoiding it because itâs the sort of episode I need to be emotionally prepared for.
The Abed/Annie plot is even better than I remember it. The way she thinks he lacks empathy when she interprets his âlevel of brain functioningâ comment to mean âlowerâ rather than âdifferentâ (different being what he probably meant) is a good portrayal of how a lot of non-autistic people react to autistic people.
And the way he shuts down when she messes with his system for systematizing and interpreting the world. Poor Abed :(
This episode is incredible, I need to watch it 20 more times, why did I ever avoid it
Obviously Troy and Abed is my favorite relationship on the show, but I think I didnât realize how much I love watching Abedâs relationships with the other characters grow. Iâll pay more attention to that when I rewatch seasons 5 and 6. Platonic Annie/Abed is AMAZING.

Finally starting my first rewatch of Community season 4 to see if I enjoy it more or less now that Iâve obsessively rewatched and over analyzed 1-3 a thousand times
Danny Pudi does such an amazing job of playing Abed as an autistic character that it blows my mind it wasnât actually intentional on his part. Like I saw an interview with him where he says he wasnât told whether Abed is on the spectrum or not and he just tried to play the character as authentically as possible, but his mannerisms and movements and tone of voice as Abed are so dead on that I would have assumed they had to be researched.
I wonder if he based his performance on anything or anyone or if the writing for the character was so obviously autistic that that was just naturally the most authentic way to perform him.
straight friend groups are like: *blonde girl* *chad* *the funny one* *kyle* *brunette girl* *frat boy*
gay friend groups are like: *the ex-lawyer* *the misguided activist* *the former star quarterback* *the gifted kid burnout* *abed* *the divorced christian mom friend*
Iâm so glad Community came into my life when it did, Iâve been wanting to watch it for years but didnât have the opportunity until I needed it the most and was in a place to properly appreciate and love it
Honestly, Abed might have saved my mental health and I hate to think of what my quarantine would be like without him
Every day is loving Abed Nadir day
