I decided that my love of greyhounds got too large to share space with my personal/rat blog so this happened, my main blog is Noodlebutts and my name is Jess. I don't have a grey yet but once and a while my best friend's hounds (Kiki and Cisco) will be featured <3

Hi everyone, 

As many of us in the Ratblr community know, our beloved @many-splendored-rat has met some damn bad luck lately. Most of us are much too far away to do anything practical for her, and I don’t know about you guys but that makes me feel pretty awful. 

Lisa is always such a lovely human. She cares endlessly about animals and people alike and is such a positive and wonderful part of this community. I always look forward to seeing her posts, following her animals’ lives, and mourning with her when a life ends. She has offered advice to me many times, and just look at all the anons she answers individually and always with compassion.

 If we can’t be there physically for her, maybe we can be there in support. Please consider donating even a very small amount! If we all donated a few dollars, maybe we can help her get though this in one piece! We love you, Lisa!

Sobresalto is Spanish and means “shock” or “suddenly”

I’m so sorry guys

I hate to do this and I hate asking for help but today we were given and eviction notice and I don’t know what else to do. Pepper is going back to her breeder and its breaking me heart but I really dont want to lose my boys they mean everything to me, but we have no savings after paying off doctors bills and car bills when brodies car broke down recently and there will be no bond bc of the damage our foster dogs did to the house. Any dontation amount would be appreciated so much, We have no where to go and no money and I am terrified.

After a court case spanning more than a year, Piper the Sheltie has FINALLY been returned to her rightful owner today! I have been following this story from almost the beginning and am so relieved that there is a happy ending at last.

Meanwhile, the Central Ohio Sheltie Rescue, which illegally kept Piper from her owner and even paid a $10,000 bond to keep them apart, has now deactivated their Facebook page. I’m hoping the outcome of this trial spells the end for this unscrupulous “rescue.”

Unfortunately Penny/COSR and their lawyer immediately filed for an appeal. It’s doubtful that it will go very far, but this isn’t entirely over yet. At the very least, Piper is in safe hands now.

Can you share with dogblr some similar alternatives to Merrick, ingredients- & GA-wise? I'm very disappointed about the sell out because I was super happy with how our dog was doing on their bison & sweet potato. She had mysteriously lost a ton of weight recently and we were finally able to get it back up so I'm super scared to switch her food. I refuse to support Nestle Purina, though.

Yes! Merrick has five billion lines though so I can’t guarantee that I’ll remember all of them. Also I don’t know Merrick price points off the top of my head so I can’t compare that.

Merrick Backcountry: Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost is the only one I know that has the freeze dried raw chunks. You can buy Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers or the NVI raw boost nuggets and add them to any kibble for the same effect. Additionally, Orijen coats the kibble in freeze dried meat.

This is what I can think of off the top of my head. I only recommended brands I trust, however formulas are subject to change so always read the bag before purchasing.

I don’t like asking for help. I refused to ask for a loan or anything else with my own numerous health problems, but I have to get my baby girl better. This is set up to help offset the cost of Rogue’s treatment (which will likely exceed $3K). Her breeders are discussing how they can help financially as well, and anything not used in the campaign will be donated to the German Shepherd Dog Rescue of southern NH, where my breeder found his heart dog.

We were faced with an awful choice last night and thankfully caught a break. Let’s hope that break lasts.

Our new walking setup for the time being. The orange collar goes through the loop on the bottom of the muzzle to keep it in place, and the leash is connected to both that and the martingale that holds her tags. She did very well on our trial run this evening, I’m proud of her.

there is a very obvious pattern im seeing here where all the best breeders in canada tend to be from quebec which is great cause its (sometimes) relatively close to me but its also horrible because i cant speak french and most of their websites are french only so you get a very frustrated me copy and pasting everything into google translate to try and figure out whats going on
