with the thick atmosphere and insanely high temperatures, itâs safe to say that erid was dying slowly
they probably didnât even consider the fact that other planets wouldnât have time to gather materials, they only just started considering space, after all, what with their whole no eyes thing
what iâm saying is that rocky probably had to be told that while erid was in danger, earth was halfway dead
stratt says that grace didnât even have a dog, not to imply that lack of romantic relationships negates his value as a human being, but instead to reassure him that the only person who will mourn him is himself, that people wonât have to suffer over him when he goes, a sentiment she herself probably used to justify her scapegoat status and her inevitability towards life in prison
ironically, i think stratt mourned him the most, being the most hopeful and empathetic character in the book and movie, even if her actions were terrible, they could only be done by someone who truly loved the whole of humanity, and wanted to spare another from making these painful decisions
shoutout to my favorite descendents character, unnamed wheelchair girl
reminder that rocky will never get a statue on earth like grace does on erid
honestly nothing is better than showing a friend the second descendents movie for the first time and watching their reaction during ways to be wicked
would new york times please for the love of god stop doing the thing where in connections they have four options which cLEARLY GO TOGETHER and instead of making that a category they call it a fun diversion and put each item in a different fucking color
a diversion is three items, pissing me off is four
mondayâs child is fair of face
tuesdayâs child is full of grace
wendsdayâs child is full of woe
thursdayâs child has far to go
itâs friday iâm in love
so i guess im alone in seeing adrian as a guy huh
i keep seeing ârocky and his humongous girlfriend <3â and thatâs great and all but not ever did i once question adrian being a dude while reading the book and i keep getting mildly confused
bloodymary where simon is on erid first
like imagine rocky coming back with the taumoeba being like âheyyyy so dont be mad⊠but i brought home a pet human can we keep him?â and fucking adrian is just like âoh we already have one of those :) he can be put in the Enclosure dwâ

and another thing about the zutara justification thing and why i think itâs irrelevant and like not super rooted in the shows/its logic? uhh fire and water are not presented as opposite elements in nature. like like like ok i hear you yeah water fire wtv but also, fire bending is something the show treats as what should be fluid but is instead very strict and limited by years of totalitarian regime, we see this in the episode where zuko and aang learn the dragon dance which significantly improved their fire bending abilities, as well as all the times iroh adapted fire bending to the techniques of other tribes. like u dont understand fire bending is supposed to be adaptable, according to the dragons aka literally the first ones to do it. aND OMG water benders had gotten significantly less fluid too due to war i feel? like ok minus katara ill talk abt her in a sec, when we get to the northern water tribe theyâre using ice for combat and have specific moves which sort of formulaically structure their bending which isnt inherently bad but it seemed like, in the short time we knew whatâs his face, northern water bender master misogynist guy, that he wasnât super willing to be fluid with his bending or teaching of it, hence his being stuck in his old traditions and not letting literally half their water benders fight. listen listen listen both the fire nation and water tribes have limited their bending by removing the element of adaptability and fluidity which can be found in self taught benders like katara and those who followed the oldest ways of bending/learning it like the sun warrior guys. and i hate to mention zutara cuz im a big fan of live and let live but i just feel like people use the water and fire thing to justify their parallels and like the whole enemies to lovers arch theyâre fond of but thatâs like not super supported by the text? like that but specifically abt how water and fire are naturally opposing forces like no? none of the elements are opposing, what? i could make the same argument about why fucking air and earth are super similar extremely easily, even though earth was something aang struggled with due to his air nomad background, and how it was actually the way his culture developed and clashed with the earth kingdom ways which led the audience to assume air and earth are opposites just like water and fire
i really like that when personifying the hail mary and blip a ships, people decided to unanimously go with doomed yuri
good choices people
katara and zuko arenât foils by virtue of the water/fire juxtaposition, in fact, going by the logic of avatar, the air/fire parallels are much more prominent, which aid in the idea the show presents which is that aang and zuko are the true foils. so basically the show, both avatar and korra, consistently categorizes air bending as gentle by allowance of the bender, which we see through the air monk pacifistic lifestyle, as well as through the destruction they can cause with their abilities, see monk gyatso surrounded by soldiers and zaheers whole thing, which directly contrasts the idea later presented in avatar regarding the fire nation/fire benders, which is that they go against what fire stands for. through characters like iroh and aangs first teacher whoâs name probably isnât important, we see fire by labeled in show as a source of warmth and life, we see this also with the dragons and the tribe. while air benders are capable of great harm and destruction and yet still choose to bring gentleness into every action, the fire nations benders choose to go against their element and force it into a weapon, which it inherently is not. the whole show is trying to say that things like harm are not black and white and that further harm doesnât balance any scales, in fact it only sets it further out of balance. these same themes are found in aang and zukos character, that being that though many tried to force aang to become violent and succumb to destruction to save everyone, he was determined to find a non harmful way to use his abilities, much like the early monks probably did, which contrasts zukos arch, which was finding that his bending was labeled inherently violent and all he was taught was harm, with no way to possibly bring balance to himself and in his bending. meanwhile, kataras arch, specifically related to her bending, was in breaking free of cultural stereotypes in a completely different way. katara and toph share a lot more in common in my opinion anyway, with their approaches to bending and the discrimination they face regarding it but thatâs another post
i might be alone in this but i fully thought that spider-noir, from into the spiderverse, was like 19 max and was just extremely edgy
