Zampanó:Navidson’s usage of his .33 millimeter Nikon in this particular scene is reminiscent of the 1920’s German expressionist film, “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”; a film born out of a post World War One Germany. The film itself is a reflection of the country’s fear at the time. A fear of an uncertain future and an enemy lurking from within. Many parallels can be drawn between Robert Wiene’s horror film and The Navidson Records from the dark claustrophobic set design to the harsh lighting and shadows being used to symbolize-
